The chicken was so incredibly tender that it literally fell right off the bone. You can tell it was cooked with care. The collard greens and mac & cheese were both perfectly seasoned and tasted just like true comfort food. To wash it all down, I had a Tito's with pineapple and cranberry juice with a dash of the Bowllegged Welcomin' . Let me just say, it was the perfect pairing! Beyond the food, the atmosphere really stood out. The artwork both inside and outside gives the place so much personality, and with plenty of TVs and shaded outdoor seating, it's a great spot to kick back and enjoy your meal on a sunny San Diego day. LINKS, folks, should be on a hot dog shaped bun, not cut up into small pieces and placed on a cheap, round, bun. I can't decide if this is hipsters, serving food and doing it their way, with whatever happens to be available at the moment, or if this is management saying "we don't care about your expectations." It isn't novel, to put links on a hamburger bun, it doesn't make it artsy, or unique, it makes it look like an afterthought. So does try-tip on a bun that wasn't. And the chimichurri- driest, almost oil-free chimichurri I've ever had, I had to add oil, at home, to be able to spread it. Good chimichurri isn't difficult, I make it all of the time. Make an effort people. Restaurant are closing. Disregarding your customer is one quicker way to meet that end.
