It's a very family-oriented place, and a touch touristy. The meals are on the fancy side, with lots of mille-feuille and drops of this and that decorating the plate. But the quantities aren't so skimpy that you're left hungry either. I had a cut of veal with a pile of tasty mushrooms. Others had red snapper. I felt well-fed with four courses on a EUR30 set menu (there was a cheaper menu, and la carte too). It's known for its truffles, though, and it was truffle season when we were here. It's also in the champagne region, of course. One of our party had the champagne and truffle menu. Every course contained truffles: the starter of foie gras with truffles and truffle purée, the main of steak with mashed potatoes and truffles, the cheese course of a soft cheese with truffle in it, and the dessert course of truffle foam, truffle creme brulée and more. Each of the starter, main and dessert came with a different glass of champagne. She said some of it was exquisite but it didn't all work, and it was truffle overload. He definitely takes his time to explain how different this region is compared to so many other regions within Champagne. It was pretty central to the Epernay town centre, Avenue du Champagne and the big L.Leclerc if you needed anything. Arrival: Don't let the big wall on the street fool you. Once you turn into the driveway it's beautiful. Bellman: They were helpful and took our luggage to our room. Reception/Front Desk: Very friendly welcome. Lobby: The lobby area is ok with a couple of small sitting areas. Room: We were in room on the first floor. We booked a classic double room which was fine size wise and fit our needs for the stop over. View: We had windows that opened up to the front garden of the hotel. Bed: The queen size bed was very comfortable. Bathroom: The bathroom was fine. The size wasn't small, but it wasn't big. The shower and bathtub was one. Hair dryer: It was one of those which were attached to the walls. I am not a fan of these dryers because they're slow and this one you had to keep your finger on the button to keep it going. It died after awhile. Products: Etro products which were ok. If you want hair conditioner you need to call and ask housekeeping. Closet: The closest was very small and hidden. At first I didn't think we had one until we saw the small sliding door next to the mini bar. Safe: Regular safe in room available. Control Panel: N/A. Just a remote for the TV. Minibar: Very standard with the traditional options. Mirrors: There was one mirror. Housekeeping: Fine. Wifi: The wifi speed was good. Dining outlets we visited: The hotel has a bar, a michelin star restaurant and a patio where you can eat breakfast. 1. The bar was very cozy where we had a glass of champagne. Definitely have a drink there. 2. We didn't eat in the restaurant because we didn't feel like doing a fancy restaurant while on holiday even though the hotel really pushes it. 3. The patio where we had breakfast was disappointing. The service was bad, the food was below average and it was expensive. Breakfast is not included in the room rate and is 22 Euros per person. I asked for soft boiled eggs and they came out in between soft and hard. My husband asked for baked eggs and they came out like frisbees. Spa: Didn't check out the spa. Concierge: They did help us with reservations at Moet et Chandon and offered a few restaurant recommendations. Style: The hotel is very old school. Note: It was raining the two days were were in Champagne and unfortunately didn't get to fully experience their garden which looked amazing. We did a quick walk in between rain showers and there were nice paths, herb garden and open space to walk. Pet friendly: Dogs are welcome at 50 Euros per day - very expensive! They put a bed, water and food bowls in the room which is nice. Dogs are not allowed anywhere in the hotel except for the lobby area and the room. At 50 Euros you would think should be allowed everywhere in the hotel. Would I go back? Probably not. The hotel was fine, but it wasn't our style.

You can easily walk around the city, catch a tram from a couple of nearby stops, or enjoy the food/sights in the immediate area. The room itself was cozy, not too small, and everything appeared clean and in functioning order. It wasn't a luxury experience, but it felt like the right quality for the price. The staff were very nice and spoke English. They held our luggage both before check-in and after check-out. They also offered us a glass of champagne each if we opted out of cleaning/maid service for our room. Since we were only staying two nights, we happily took the offer. Overall, it was a nice experience, and I'd stay again if I were in Reims.

Manicured grounds to stroll, rooms in period style, and a great home-base for exploring the many tiny villages and small cities in this beautiful part of France. In fact, you can just drive in and out as you please - no valet and free parking right out front. Staff are very friendly and helpful, but unobtrusive. Meals are an experience - a sort of length and formality not seen in the US, but if you have the time to relax and unplug, it's a beautiful setting. Our room was surprisingly functional though - great Wi-Fi that we were able to use on Zoom calls, nice bathroom, comfortable bed. Quirky property, but we really enjoyed ourselves!

Ugh. Another…read moreincredible stay at a world-class venue that was just a few days too short. Why does this keep happening? Haha. We recently stayed at Domaine Les Crayères in Reims and had an impeccable stay. Not only is the property located in a convenient place, the grounds of the property themselves are nothing short of exquisite. Upon arrival we were greeted by the valet who kindly took our bags straight away to our room, which was not yet ready, as we were a little early, but no matter as we enjoyed a glass of champagne in the Le Parc restaurant as we planned out the next hour or so of our day. After driving around in the countryside and purchasing a few bottles of champagne we made our way back and were so pleasantly surprised with the exception quality and fine details of our room. Truly this is one of the few properties we've stayed at that did everything right from the small touches in the room like a gigantic chocolate Easter egg and Guerlain toiletries to the functional space with multiple TVs (not that we used them much) and fantastic shower. We did not have time to book the on-site restaurant, Le Parc, but from what we have heard and based off our experience at the brasserie, Le Jardin, we would highly recommend booking dinner there - you will enjoy it. Take your time. Soak up the atmosphere, and dress with a purpose! We have stayed at some of the nicer hotels in the world. Silica, Park Hyatt Kyoto, and other chateau's and estates, and Domaine Les Crayères was as good as anywhere we have stayed. As a tip, the entry to the property is a little weird if you don't know what you're looking for. Depending on the direction you are coming from, likely Paris, you'll want to turn left at the small left turn lane which is in front of the property and then immediately turn left onto what feels like a sidewalk or somewhere you're not supposed to drive onto. You're in the right spot! Pull the car up and the valet will take over from there. Enjoy Reims!

However, clearly their concern was money. If they refunded us, they would be hard pressed to fill the room. I have had better service, and more comfortable accommodations at a Holiday Inn Express. A Five Star hotel's HVAC system's individual temp controls in the rooms should go without saying. We are very well traveled. We have never experienced anything like this, EVER.
