They also have a good range of amplifiers, and stock Nash guitars. Unusually they stock quite a few left-handed instruments in their "Leftorium", which is great for lefties. Aside from the usual guitar and amp servicing. they can also help with putting together a well-laid out pedal board and have a massive range of power supplies and switching units. For guitarists this is a great place to check out, although be careful - your wallet may not survive the visit.

The service is always part of why I go here. Most of the guys working at Drum Power have been doing so since I was 16 and having my mum drop me off at weekend rehearsals. I have some pretty ridiculous whims at times. Well, it's not so much having the ideas that makes…read morethem ridiculous, but the fact that I follow through. Like the time I took off on holiday down to Torquay with some people I'd met the day before. Or the time I formed a company... But I digress. The whim related to the Melbourne Music Centre is the time I decided that I needed to learn the banjo. Needed. So I did my research and found a cheap and local option that seemed to be of reasonable quality. It took a few tries; first they didn't have it in stock, then they were closed, but finally I managed to get my sticky paws on a banjo. This one came with free set up while I waited. It also came with a case, fingerpicks, a stand, and a few other things that I exchanged for a book with old pictures of people standing holding their banjos awkwardly (I was convinced it would inspire musical genius in me). I think if I knew anything about guitars, I'd be incredibly impressed with their knowledgable service. Instead I was impressed by how cute the staff were in their geeky love for the instruments, and for the effort they put into helping me. Either way, a good place to shop.

The store itself has everything in one central location, ranging from Cds, DVDs to Games, TVs, Computers, Laptops, Cameras, Mobile Phones etc. It is also conveniently located on the first floor in the Well and I go there everytime I get a chance even if it's just to waste some time browsing through Cds and Dvds.

I recently purchased a new TV from JB Hifi from this store. The person that served my offered my a…read moresmall discount off my purchase (even though I did not ask for it which was cool). Unfortunately I could not fit the TV into my car so I had to organise for a home delivery. The warehouse person that I spoke to said that I could get delivery of my TV as early as Tuesday after my purchase on Saturday which I thought was quite good. The transport company that was engaged on behalf JB contacted me on Monday to arrange for a delivery date of Wednesday between 8 and 10am. On Wednesday I waited until 10:20am. Realising that my delivery was not coming I contacted JB and was given the contact details for Toll Fast. I then contacted them and asked for an ETA. I was told at this point that the computer system was down but they would follow up for me again. After waiting 20 minutes I called back to Toll Fast and it was explained to me at that point that my delivery had been scheduled between 9am and midday (as opposed to 8am and 10am). This would have been fine, except I had taken work off to wait for the delivery. I then contacted JB Hifi at 11:20 to pass on feedback on my customer experience where I was told that the Store Manager was busy and that they would call me back. 20 mins later after still no phone call I called the store again and was put immediately through to the store manager (in my opinion she had probably forgotten). She then promised that she would be in contact with the Transport company to get an update. After hearing nothing back by 12:05 I contacted the transport company for an update. The person on the end of the phone explained that she had just been on the phone with jb hifi and suggested that I call them. When I asked if she could just tell me the information rather than me call someone else she said no and hung up on me. After speaking with the Store Manager at JB Hifi after then it was explained to me that my delivery had been put on priority but they still could not provide me with an update. It was then clarified to me that the manager at this store was a floor manager not a store manager. I then asked for compensation in respect to my inconvenience and I was told that my request was unreasonable and the best that they could do was to "sort me out" the next time I was in store. What does this equate to from losing a days work is not clear to me. It is now 12:54pm I have no idea where my TV is and I am understandably irritated after waiting more than half a day waiting for something that might come. Such a lack of customer empathy here, I seriously wouldn't bother.

Never felt threatened in a retail store before . Been a loyal customer of Harvey Norman for 25…read moreyears and more recently in the past few months bought a Sony OLED, washing machine and Dyson vacuum cleaner. Out of loyalty went into the Harvey Norman Maribyrnong store to buy some smaller electronics ($300 worth) knowing they would price match against competitors such as Officeworks under their advertised price guarantee and was meet with a barrage of excuses and reasons from different staff members not to honour it. Then asked to speak to manager and waited 15 minutes to be aggressively approached by him and later threatened in a persecuting manner that as we had already opened the box to inspect the goods we were buying, (Logitech keyboard) we had therefore already bought it at the full price" when we refused and decided to leave without a purchase. He threatened to get security using further further verbal and physically intimidating tactics to purchase the items. As we began to leave he "escorted us out" like we criminals. Our upcoming intent to purchase a full Sonos home theatre system and sound bar and HP spectre laptop (about $6000-$7000 worth ) will be going elsewhere
