There are ice cream shops and then there's a farm dairy that produces incredible ice cream and milk. Manning's grows the food for the cows that produce the milk that makes the ice cream. They raise their own cattle and have a great store at the farm in Dalton, PA. Amazing process and a delicious local product. Portions are huge and the prices are low. All around great value and yummy ice cream with plenty of flavors to choose. Service at this store is usually good, but sometimes you can tell the workers don't want to be there. Sign of the times more than a dig on this store. Ice cream makes everyone happy, so just enjoy it and don't sweat the small stuff. Cheers! read more

This is a little, nondescript spot in a strip mall with Fantastic ice cream from a local farm. Lots of great flavors. Love the photos on the wall of the step by step process of growing the feed, caring for the cows, milking, and finally making the ice cream. read more

Ice cream great and so many flavors. And you can get huge containers for 7 bucks. We drive 35 minutes every few months to pick up 3-4 containers. It's more takeout than eat in with only one employee to do it all. read more

Service was so quick! There was a line when I pulled up and we got through surprisingly quick. They have an array of ice cream, frozen yogurt and sundae flavors. Also in the fridge they have milk products and pints of ice cream. Price was very affordable and the ice cream is delicious! read more

Went there to try the ice-cream while visiting some shops nearby. Tried three different flavors (coffee, vanilla, black raspberry) and oh.. they were nothing very special. Just regular ice cream. The coffee flavor was really mild, same with the vanilla, the black raspberry was stronger and thus, much better. Therefore it seems there's a lot of differences in the flavors you're getting and some might disappoint you. The atmosphere and service were ok, even not much attention had been paid on the feeling of the place. Also, they accept only cash which greatly limits the payment options. read more

Ice cream was great. Service was terrible. Will need to think twice before returning. Minus 2 stars. Tables and chairs weren't clean either. Minus 1 star. read more

I'm sure the manager would be upset at the service when I went in 1/2 hour before closing on my birthday on 3/11. They had 2 employees. One was waiting several minutes for a couple that were trying to make up their minds while we waited to be served. Then when we were finally asked what we wanted we were told the they didn't have shakes because they had already disassembled the shake machine. The second employee was sweeping the floor the whole time were in the store ignoring the eight other customers who were waiting for service. Perhaps management doesn't know how to train employees to provide customer service. read more

A wide variety of both staple and seasonal flavors. Manning Farms ice cream is creamy and delicious, and enjoyed both the friendly staff and ice cream shop vibes. read more

Manning Farm Dairy - Oreo mint and Cookie Monster flavors in a waffle cone - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Scranton, Pennsylvania

The ice cream was so good and smooth, me and my family went up and since it was our first time there, the staff told us recommendations. I got the Cookie Monster, and my family got other flavors. And it felt like a cozy ice cream joint. Since we stayed at the Anz hotel right across the street( which I'll review when I'm done with this trip I'm on here in Scranton) it was an easy pick since it was so close to read more

The food and service was amazing! The one boy recommended his favorite ice cream to me "Apple crisp" so that's what I got and it's SO YUMMMY and GOOD. And I didn't know it was cash only and the other worker helped me out through spotting me on Cashapp! Customer service 10/10 and ice cream 99/10!!! read more

Okay I love ice cream and this was solid. I got a scoop of the butter beer and the maple walnut- both were chefs kiss! I will definitely be back soon! read more

LOOOOOOVVVEEEEEEE the ice cream! Also if you are like me and try to find the best price for groceries, look no further for your milk! Delicious, EXTREMELY fresh, AND the most affordable price I've been able to find in nepa. HURRY UP AND TRY!!! THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD read more

All the superlatives! Manning Farm Dairy is awesome! You can taste that their ice cream is fresh and is made with quality ingredients. As a bit of an ice cream connoisseur, I attest that Manning's ice cream stacks up well against anything else I've ever had. And they have a crazy number of flavors. I had the Lafayette, which is vanilla ice cream with coconut, yellow cake and raspberry. I highly recommend it. I was especially impressed that the cake is real cake rather than the slimy goo that often goes into "cake" ice cream, and that the raspberry was legitimate raspberry. I also tasted the teaberry and the plain vanilla... both great, and I recommend the teaberry. Service is friendly. Prices are more than reasonable. And the single dip size is as much as most mortals can eat. Manning Farm Dairy is a truly fantastic ice cream shop. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before. Manning's is the best ice cream ever. Full disclosure, I have been going here as long as I can remember (all 50 years), after softball games as a child and after any number of special occasions growing up. I stopped by today to see t-shirts commemorating 100 years in business and it's easy to see why - the ice cream is Amaze Balls!! I had Almond Joy today, which is my favorite but I am now wishing I had gotten some chocolate Charlie brownie to go...I will be thinking about Manning's until I get it again. This is definitely a "go out of your way to get here" kind of a place. And the girls at the counter are all sweet too! It's like a step back in time all around. read more

From out of town, wanted to try something local. Yummy homemade ice cream despite the hair I found 3/4 of the way through my cone. Ate it anyways. Some flavors are overly sweet. Lots of flavors to chose from. Peace Scranton read more

I checked into this lonesome ice cream shop after working out at the gym for about 45 mins to an hr. I figured I drove this far due to the cov-19 all the New York Gyms are closed so I went to PA to workout and enjoy some icecream. At first I thought maybe they might have sherbert because I've been trying to eat healthy via salads, and Gluten free and fatfree icecream but this place definitely is anything but fat free and thats ok! I still found a delicious choice. I saw the pink teaberry caught my eyes and since I like tea I said why not. The girls working were really friendly and intrigued that I went out of my way to find a gym I said heck yea we can't let this cov-19 ruin living and traveling is one of my favorite things to do in down time so I didn't mind. The girl also explained theres a Manning farm dairy located in clarke summit so I definitely will try that one too. The icecream is delicious and creamy, I like how they have been around for at least 70 years. I will definitely check out there clarke summit location and hopefully they will continue to grow. read more

Manning Farm Dairy - pink tea berry with rainbow sprinkles...I like tea so I figured why not... - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Scranton, Pennsylvania

Great ice cream! The best part was the portions! I ordered two scoops and I ended up getting what looked like 4 (I from NYC I'm sure the standards are different). I had a sundae: vanilla with blueberry topping. I barely finished it. What a treat, thanks for the great food and service! read more

Best ice cream in the area. Milk is local. And the chocolate milk is to die for. My daughter makes me get chocolate milk here on a daily basis. No complaints, always a pleasure. read more

$3.98 for two scoops that is the size of 3 or 4 scoops at other places. Nice! The ice cream and milk comes completely from their own cows. Lots of great flavors. No paying for extraneous nonsense like singing employees or mixing odd topping into the ice cream on a cold marble slab. Only downside is that it's cash only. People were coming in to buy milk, too. The milk was cheaper than the regular stores and it's hormone-free, too. read more

I cannot comment on the store, or the service, since I took the lazy route and sat on the couch waiting for the so talked about milkshake delivery. But, let me tell you, they did NOT disappoint. I went with cookies and cream - vanilla ice cream with real mashed up oreos. Just so good. And filling. I can see what all the rage is about - apparently they have all kinds of milkshakes, and every single one is amazing. read more

Love this ice cream , as soon as I sow it I had to try it so I did, love the service of this location. The girls were so nice..coming back soon. read more

So we had a fabulous dinner (including dessert) and yet we walked 30 minutes because we had to have ice cream. Baby scoops of Charlie Brownie and French Coconut Custard and not only were our tummies happy but our tastebuds satisfied beyond belief. Shout out and kudos to Manning Farm Dairy for being so accommodating And pleasant. The stars are really for the great price and huge portion. The ice cream though tasted rather old and the chocolate chip cookie dough a bit sour. The choco. peanut butter was okay but hardly any peanut butter. Perhaps we were just there on an off day and chose the wrong flavors! read more

Soooo many flavors to choose from which is great. I always feel bad asking for too many samples because I am so indecisive. My favorite is chocolate raspberry truffle but you can't go wrong with any of the flavors. I only wish they would label each ice cream though; I like to see how it looks in the tub first. They didn't mind when I kept asking what was what though. The single dip is quite large (I almost couldn't finish... almost!) and a great value. Also, they only accept cash. read more

First you choose which kind you should order, ice cream or others. Second, choose the cup, single or scoops ,etc. The last , choose the flavor. Only cash. I love the Oreo, Brownie, Vanilla. Some flavor has the cookies inside. That's yummy. read more

Mannings is very good ice cream. As someone who always like to try the local variety of ice cream when I travel, I feel like I am quite an expert in this. It is exceptionally creamy, and although they do not advertise the percentage of milkfat uses in their product, my guess it is high. This is good news for delicious ice cream. I enjoyed a couple of the holiday seasonal flavors at Christmas time and have sort of settled on the Salted Caramel as my usual, non-seasonal fave. Often "salted" flavors lose their salty punch as you continue to eat and your mouth goes cold, but this one seems to stay a touch salty through the whole thing. I find the small (not even the single) is plenty--it is SOOOO rich. It is extremely affordable. Also I regularly buy the milk. The skim is way better than supermarket milk--creamier and uhhh...milkier? This place is typically staffed by kids, they are friendly enough and get the job done. The store front could do a lot to be cuter, so don't expect anything in terms of atmosphere, it's pretty utilitarian. But with a product so tasty, who cares? OH--CASH ONLY! read more

Absolutely love the ice cream here! The flavors are all super rich and creamy! The staff is also super friendly. I gladly recommend this place if your looking for ice cream in the Scranton area! read more

The best ICE CREAM The best milk and the service...fantastic Great selection of ice cream. Great job Manny. read more

How there is not any reviews for this place is beyond me? This place hands down has the best ice cream and it is cheap. The ice cream, milk, cakes and ice cream pies are all home made from the farm in Dalton PA. I had to drive to visit mom yesterday but everytime I am in Scranton I stop here. Last night we made the trip to the farm so I could reminisce when she took me as a kid. I worked here in high school and ate ice cream literally everyday..... I think Mrs. Manning puts crack in the mix or something.. I had a double dip, Barnyard Gravy and Chocolate PB, it was huge and mom had a single...total $6.... After walking around the farm for a bit I stopped in for another one for the way home.... Scranton should be known for Manning's Ice Cream as much as it should be for The Office. read more

Probably my favorite ice cream in PA... I could eat Mannings every day for the rest of my life. ANY flavor, ANY cone, ANYTIME. I have to say, their banana ice cream is my father's absolute favorite. It is rare to find a banana ice cream that doesn't taste like banana runts and Manning's is exactly the opposite. It fantastic. LOVE them. Cute little shop, always friendly people working. Too bad there isn't really anywhere to sit. We always the loiter around outside the shop with our cones. Wish I still lived in NEPA and could partake in more Manning's. read more
