Excellent spot for a drink, lunch or dinner. The prices go from $10 special to $30 smic meal. Catch the Manly Ferry and turn right to the hotel wharf. On a sunny day, sitting under the umbrellas with Cajun Squid and a beer....it doesn't get better than this. The patrons vary from young families to business types. I was in a group of 10 and all plates went back clean. Food was good! Watching the Collaroy or Queenscliff arrive will help with last drinks call.

Nachos!

Wharf bar is where you want to be for an afternoon Sunday Sesh in Manly. It's right on the water (harbour-side). I love this place in the summer. When I lived in Manly I always promise myself I would only stay for a few, but once I showed up I would stay for a "few more." It does get pretty crowded at times. It's probably not a good pick on the weekend if you have a group that wants a table to sit down. My fave snack on the menu are the nachos. It's a HUGE platter. Get them to share with 1-2 friends. Trust me.

«Wharfie» or Wharf Bar, as it is affectionately known, is arguably the original and the best. Situated on the stunning Manly wharf, the originally-titled Manly Wharf Hotel is a perfect spot to enjoy a vegetarian pizza for a sunny lunch (my pick of the extensive pizza menu), a Sunday afternoon game of pool or a Saturday night of watching the beautiful people. And beautiful they are - Wharf Bar's clientele (and staff, for that matter) are predominantly young professionals and students, who are mostly blonde, tanned and scantily clad. The cast of Home and Away would not be out of place in this most typical of Northern Beaches establishments. Admittedly trendy, Wharf Bar manages to walk the fine line of being a hotspot without being pretentious. A reasonably-priced food and drinks menu, plus its longevity on the Manly bar scene dictates that everyone can feel ok here and enjoy the stunning views and good vibes. While the young and beautiful reign at night, grandparents enjoy a quiet glass of wine during the evening, tradies come for lunch and tourists filter in at all hours. These warm, fun-lovin' vibes are maybe because of the hugeness of the place - far bigger than most bars, Wharf Bar's white tiles streeeeetch for an unexpected distance. Maybe it's because of it's outlook on Sydney Harbour - it's hard not to smile when you look out to the Heads. Maybe we can attribute it to the saying that is true of all of Manly «Seven miles from the city... One thousand miles from care.» It could be the reasonably-priced drinks and food, or it could be that it's not the kind of place you feel you must drink to keep your sanity. The hotel always manages to take the extra step in making its clientele want to come back, whether it be for a special occasion such as the annual Cup Day party, or just another sunny afternoon on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Unlike many Manly establishments, the Manly Wharf Hotel is always impeccable clean and always feels safe - fights do not start here.

This place has a great vibe! Directly on the wharf, with a great view over the water and surrounding suburbs, it's a pretty cool little place to sit back and watch. It feels to me to be directly between a pub and a high class restaurant, with a pretty sweet ocean / surf theme, with Kayak rental right outside. I've only been here once, and had some entrées. But whats great is you can choose how you want to be seated. Stools around a high table, or park-bench style seating sheltered, but with views, or out side on couches anjoying the sunlight and breeze. If you come along yourself and take a tour through you'll see what I mean. The foods great, neither cheap nor super expensieve, and it can just a be a meeting place for drinks too if that's what you're looking for. A nice, social atmosphere! Theres even a bar and dining area outside on the jetty; sit on the water while you eat!

Despite Manly Wharf being re-developed to make it more appealing and local, interstate and international touristy friendly; it is still difficult to find a great place to eat away from the beach and the corso with some peace and quiet, albeit some civilisation. Max Brenner, forget it: although a great locale: if real food is for you (where you actually want to eat with a real knife and fork) in a cost effective manner; then this establishment deserves your attention and is worthy of your consideration next time you make a day out of it on the iconic Manly Ferry. Even for some quality wedges to munch on; with priceless views in a prominent location. You could easily feel like a million bucks; especially on a warm afternoon on any given day of the week. The weekends will make you feel a little less prosperous; however it is so much fun eating here with the gorgeous view in the middle of the week on an extremely sunny day while nearly everyone else is working; perhaps with a glass of pinot noir or a lemon, lime and bitters in tow. Heaven. In a nutshell, great service and a trendy locale definitely awaits you here. Enjoy your journey.

We were served from the cider-and-rum-only bar by a friendly, helpful bartender who totally looked the part! Delicious drinks, great atmosphere and not too pricey for the location. I highly recommend.

Moonshine specialises in 16 ciders on tap and over 100 rums. It opened on September 1st and we are there on a Sunday evening and its heaving with the summer keen in platforms, denim cutoffs and mini skirts. The night is reggae and the crowd is enjoying the beats. We grab our Batlow Cider's (look out for these folks they are very good Summer beverage) and settle for a wooden crate to enjoy the music. Its a nice and much needed change from the Shore Club, Sugar Reef, Wharf Bar and the likes even if the same demographics grace Moonshine with their presence. Im not sure if this crowd will appreciate the variety of rums but its location is premium on Manly beachfront and Im sure the masses will be rollicking in this bar for summer 2011/2012.

It's a great place to linger and at night it comes alive with music and dancing. The cocktails are great though I advise you get them made at the bar that is near the hotel reception as the young ladies and men in the Charlie Bar can get run off their feet looking for all those numbers on tables who have ordered drinks. Located on the bottom floor of the Novotel Hotel Manly, it's what you'd expect in a bar affiliated with a high-end hotel: it's chic and sleek, a definite step up from some of Manly's other night life. The bar is beautiful - white-tiled floors, exposed wood and my favourite, chairs that hang from the ceiling. You've gotta be quick for these bad boys - every person in the bar has a quiet eye on them, looking for an opportunity to pounce! The drinks are pretty standard, and of a pretty normal price. If you're in Manly of an afternoon, head to happy hour for $5 beers, wine and champagne. Charlie Bar attracts a youngish, well dressed and well coiffed crowd who love a drink and a dance - on Saturday nights, what was seating becomes a dancefloor. Unlike the crowded dance floors of elsewhere in Manly, this is the perfect place to have a boogy with your girlfriends!
