It was appreciated! When you walk in, there's a community feel, which makes an unfit person like me not as intimidated to use weights. I'm in the 2x a week class and I'm enjoying it a lot. The trainers are very knowledgeable, explain things well and really encourage you to test your limits. I have ten more weeks, but very excited to see my progress and feel stronger. This gym is very parent friendly and even has children minding services. When I go to the gym, it's either when my kids have just gone down for the night or still sleeping. My 3 year old has been asking a lot about the gym so definitely will check it out at some point. They have a smoothie bar in the gym too. I haven't tried any of their drinks yet, but I do see other users of the gym drinking it after a workout. Good for: health and fitness

The decor is classic, lots of wood panelling and old-school glamour. The evening started with an open bar service and hors d'oeuvres. They served chicken skewers, bacon wrapped scallops, and some sort of stacked potato bites. Obviously, the hors d'oeuvres were selected by the couple, but they made some good selection. There was plenty to go around, and service was professional and friendly. After the cocktail hour, the guests gathered in the second floor alcove, that looks down onto the entrance of venue, and watched, from second story view, the entrance of the bride and groom. The spotlight was personalized to the wedding logo too! Then we progressed into the dining room for dinner. The dining room looks out onto the golf course, and provides plenty of natural light with HUGE windows. With the number of guests, there was no room for a "stage', but the emcees stayed in the middle of the room, and managed the rundown from there. Food was fine, and the prime rib was served medium rare to medium. Service was good too - they made gracious accommodations for guests who wanted coffee with their dinner, or asked for sparkling water. Overall, a lovely venue, and as a guest, it was a good experience.

After the meeting we moved to an adjoining room for some drinks and light food. The bartenders were quick to get the 80 or so of us our first round and kept things flowing for the remainder of the evening. The food was simple yet really well done. There was just basics like wings, onion rings, etc. but the best part was the dessert tray. I'm not sure where they bring their pastries in from but they were delightful. The rest of the staff were great in clearing away the empty glasses and used dinnerware. Very polite and professional.

Just signed up for a one month gym membership to try out River Grove before I commit to a longer…read moremembership. The fitness facility has gone under renovations previously so that's why I chose this community centre over the other dated locations. All of the equipment is pretty new and there's a variety of cardio machines, free weights, and resistance machines. I would assume that the facility would be more crowded during rush hours but luckily I usually go during the afternoons. They also have a group fitness room and several squash courts below. I definitely have to say that River Grove offers much more for a cheaper price than Anytime Fitness. Another plus is that they have several membership options if you can't commit to a year. The con so far is the uncleanliness of the change room. So far I'm liking this fitness centre for the price I am paying.

One for cardio, which is full of treadmills, elliptical, biking station, and stair master. TVs are station in front so you can keep yourself occupied if you didn't bring your own music. Two is the lifting area. There's squat racks and plenty of room for barbell exercises. There's a number of workout benches for dumbbell workout routines. Problem is that after dinner on a weekday, this place is full. High school and university swarm this place around 8:00pm to 10pm, so avoid it if you can otherwise you'll be waiting forever. Three is the class area. They have yoga and step class here. I've attended the step class twice before and it is intense. This location has a lot of other things to offer, such as a swimming pool and classes. You'll have to look it up ahead of time and register. I don't see myself going to another gym any time soon.

When you walk in they have a little shoe area to take off your boots/shoes and then a rack to put your coat. You check yourself in where there are iPads. They said shoes go in half size so I am usually a 8 and ended up with a 7.5 which was a bit snug but manageable. Then there are lockers further down. I found it cute they wrote a little sign on your locker - welcome to cycle bar with your name as well. They also give you a little red plastic bottle with your name too so you can refill it with water. I filled mine and drank the entire thing during my class. You definitely work up a sweat. I tried a music video class - punk vs pop which was nice. Lots of blink 182, Rihanna, etc.

The studio is CLEAN, BRIGHT and TRENDY! Super modern. Rachel was my cycle instructor and she was soooooo energetic ; she explained everything throughly and made sure everyone was comfortable. The highlight of my ride was walking out sweaty and finding MIMOSAS on the bar !! What a great touch to their Sunday brunch ride. I will FOR SURE return , I'm excited to cycle with other instructors.
