It's part of the historical society and I don't think they provide too much aside from the use of the space (my friends were able to come a day early and decorate). The grounds are very well-kept and perfect for a wedding the DIY wedding of the century (seriously, I have talented friends). The ceremony was outside under the trees, and the lawn is plenty big enough for games, a few tables, outdoor bars, etc. The barn itself is also great. And thanks to my friends' hard work decorating it up like crazy, it was SO GORGEOUS. There was a long head table down the middle and then rectangular tables around both sides so they just got rid of the head table to open up the dance floor. Not sure who was in charge of that, but the transition was seamless. As a bride-to-be myself, I'm going to try to mention all the important things in terms of wedding (or event) wish lists... so forgive the strange (and not cohesive) details, but here goes! -The house on the property can be used by the bridal party to get ready. -The place was flexible with food and drink vendors as long as they were licensed, so my pals had an Indian buffet from India Palace in Woodbury. Green Mill did their bar. -A lot of barn weddings you have to rent port-o-johns, but they had multiple normal restrooms even in the barn itself. -They do hayrides -They rent chairs, tents and tables -I get the impression that their rates are fairly reasonable. -I also get the impression that the volunteer working with the group on the weekend of wasn't the easiest to deal with, but it's not necessarily going to be the same person every time. -No ATM -Due to the venue's restrictions, the wedding had to end at 10 p.m. Sad face.

They also had adequate seating for all the reception guests that showed up after the vows with an enormous dance floor. The only thing I really disliked was the total disregard from management. They had promised my friend that they would put up window shades to block out the sun so the ceremony would be more intimate (she put down a $500 deposit) As soon as we noticed the shades were not assembled, we contacted them. They completely denied ever receiving any deposit and dismissed us in a very rude fashion. They didn't even attempt or offer to fix the issue. I found that to be super tasteless and unprofessional. However, it is an hour drive from the Twin Cities metro area. They took down decorations, tables and chairs to the point that there wasn't even a place for people to sit that weren't dancing. Less than a minute after the dance ended, they began to shut off the lights. Due to the fact we felt we were being pushed out, I wouldn't recommend this place

The best description I heard is it's a country club experience that's open to the public. Maintenance is amazing, tee boxes well taken care of, greens were fast and tricky. A couple holes protected by a big tree planted right in front of the green, kind of funky cool! Played the blue/white combo tees, up a little more than usual, wanted to have a fun first time experience. Very much look forward to another visit soon. Truly a hidden gem with a ton of PGA history.
