Don't quite remember what we ordered but everything was delicious! The red chilis in the dishes are SPICY. The ambiance is so fun as well. Highly recommend this place!

The pride of Calgary & the best Filipino dishes we've had in a long time! Thank you Lee, AteV, Jek…read moreand crew, and dear friend V for the recommendation. Round1 - After arrival at YYC, we drove straight to Bo Fiesta and had kare2, tulingan gata in banana leaves, menudo and lumpiang Shanghai - all 5*s - freshly cooked as you order. Of course with rice (lol), these are not salty nor greasy, the plating and presentation on point, and decent pricing. We had a non-Filipino in our group and she loved all esp the menudo. The Hospitable and very nice owners Lee ( with sister AteVilma) have us try the superb very tasty and crunchy Krispy Pata (their best seller) pancit bihon-mike, veg lumpia with ubod, capped with desserts halo-halo and turon with langka (jackfruit) and sorbetes. Ooohh la la! We were a party of 4, and all gave rave reviews and 5**; it was hard to pick one fave dish. All the dishes we tried are now favorites esp with the generous serving portions and decent pricing. BF as our first stop from YYC airport on a first time visit to Calgary didn't disappoint. We stayed for couple of days did our touristic rounds of Jasper, Banff, the Lakes & Calgary. Time to fly back to the US, and had to make another stop at BF en route to YYC. Lol can't get enough. This 2nd round, we had bangus sisig, pork sisig, palabok, fried and garlic rice. The dessert is the decadent Bilo bilo with ube halaya! Freshly made, all the ingredients are prepared in their own kitchen. Like the halo2, they make their own pang "mix", ie no store-bought OTC sweets laden with syrup. We love the tulingan gata sardines type (you can eat the bones) so much we ordered to go! Frozen and nicely packed leak proof (checked-in inside our suitcase ), it sailed thru the US customs with no hitch. The nice Filipiniana decor and ambiance, with karaoke nite on Friday and live band on Saturday is a treat. Love love your healthy live plants!!! Highly recommend!!! Thank you again Lee & AteV, the friendly and attentive Jek our server, your amazing crew esp the Chef of 22 yrs at BF. The BF Chef is from Pampanga, the culinary capital of decadent and native Filipino cuisine. Until our next visit ....

Pinoy Filipino Kitchen is located in the food court of Pacific Place Mall…read more Pinoy serves a variety of Filipino stews including chicken, pork, fish and beef. One, two and three item combos are all available which include your choice of meat dishes plus steamed rice. In addition to these mains, Pinoy also offers a variety of Filipino desserts (word of warning, though, the desserts have no English, so you'll have to ask if you are not familiar with this cuisine). On this visit, I tried the Adobo chicken which came in a soy sauce based savory broth and a pork dish in a sweeter sauce. Both meats were on the bone, which resulted in super tender cuts. For a two item combo, the price comes to $10 even with tax.

For a filipino fast food restaurant, this place is surprisingly delicious and authentic. For $10 we…read moregot rice, chicken adobo and pork menudo. Everything had been stewed for a long time and the flavour had soaked into the meat. The pork menudo was especially flavourful with a tomato and green pepper based sauce. They seemed to have a lot of other interesting authentic filipino dishes to try. Don't be frightened of them using whole animal cooking. There are different parts of a chicken all cut up into one dish (no organs though), which I think is awesome because chicken breast can be pretty dry and boring. They also had a bitter melon dish so be careful about that! They've got guts to serve bitter melon. To me, it shows a commitment to their cuisine.

Hubby and I came in for the first time for lunch. While we were waiting for our other friends to…read morearrive, we ordered the sago't gulaman(which was a bit too syrupy sweet and contained a lot of ice) and buko(young coconut juice). We thought that we would introduce our friends to Filipino food, so we ordered a little of everything: Chicken Mami Soup: this regular size is meant to be shared by 2 people(or a single serving for one hungry person). The broth was flavourful with generous servings of chicken, suey choy, and boiled egg. Garlic Rice: so yummy! We love fried garlic and there was plenty of it! Laing: the taro leaves were cooked just right in the coconut milk without the shrimp paste being too overpowering. Mixed Bihon & Canton Special: tasty noodles with the right texture(my pet peeve is overcooked noodles). Beef Pares: the beef was meltingly tender with the aromatic sauce. Crispy Pork Kare-Kare: the peanut sauce with vegetables complemented the crispy pork perfectly. The only critique I would have about this dish is that the server should have given us a knife to cut the pork slabs properly (we used the pompano knife instead). It's a little difficult to do this with a fork and spoon... Fried Pompano: this was the last dish to arrive at our table. The fish was delicious, all the way down to the crispy bits near the tail and head without tasting fishy. Our server was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, she was having her lunch break when we asked for the bill, so another server brought the machine to our table without asking if we wanted to pay separately. We will certainly be back to try the other dishes in their diverse menu!
