Very quiet.....San Telmo market nearly empty hoping to score some exquisite salamis etc there but closed No one at the parrilla either usually bustling ..wrong time of day? siesta in force? anyway ordered 3 chorizo choripan...right away the rolls looked too pale & under baked...when served the meat was at best lukewarm..took a few bites anyway & bit into cold bright red? pork fat (#3 red dye?) TA asked to heat it up after 10 minutes it was served again..hotter ...yes.... but this was not the unbelievable choripan I had been looking forward to for years since my last precovid visit there...not even a shadow of its former self..SOOOO disappointed LULU agreed underspiced & oversalted yuck hope this was a bad fluke for them boo hoo

Open on Christmas day!…read more Wanted to get (another) good steak before leaving BA the next day, but it was Christmas and most everything was closed. Checked out this place with good reviews, and we we're in luck. Had the Bife de Lomo (sirloin) with mushrooms, and it was great. Wife had the Waldorf salad, which was good but different than the US (more cream based), and a tasty empanada. My son had spaghetti, which was fine. Had a bottle of wine and water as well. Our waiter was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Really good place and good value (840 pesos / 63 US for all). Would come back!

You can just eat it the way it is without any ketchup or A1 steak sauce! The flavor was good! Then we also order their Argentinian ribs, it's really short ribs, I was kinda surprised when it was served to me, very happy with the thickness and the taste, the flavor was more intense than the steak! Very tender indeed! The meat empanada was delicious and cheap (about $1.15 USD) for 1, just big enough for us to try! The service was great, our waiter took time to explain everything to us in ENGLISH! He spoke perfect English! They also gives you a basket of bread as soon as you sit down, no charge of course!

"Parrilla Peña" was the answer I got when querying hotel staff about a good, authentically…read moreArgentinian dinner spot. Nothing seemed more authentic than the big parrilla (grill) that greets you when you enter or the fact that the place doesn't open for dinner until 8pm. A meal in this clean, somewhat industrial-looking space begins with empanadas and chimichurri arriving automatically at your table thanks to the small "cubierto" (per person cover fee, not a tip, of about $2.50 per person). Given the late dining hour I resisted over-ordering, knowing that I didn't want to go to sleep stuffed to the brim. Rib-eye was my choice, along with wine and beer, with the whole thing coming in at a pre-tip price of $90,100ARS (about $63USD). It was a perfect meal that still filled me succinctly and as I left I couldn't help but feel for all those still waiting to enter the restaurant at around 10 p.m. Parrilla Peña proved to be a great and authentic choice for a solid parrilla experience. I went on to have similar meals for more money a couple more times while in Argentina but it was here that I thought the experience most authentic, being enjoyed more by locals and only a handful of in-the-know tourists such as myself.

Here, they do all the right things and serve tons and tons of meats. They have it all, so good in fact, Diego Maradona himself once dined here when he was alive. The service was immaculate, everyone was very friendly and welcoming, we happened to walk in right during a slow day, and it was perfect. The ambiance is very cozy, lots of paintings of prominent Argentine figures such as Carlos Gardel and of course Diegito. I highly recommend coming to dine here, the food is well made and the wine selection is very nice as well (We opted for Coca W/ Fernet since we were on our way to watch Futbol)
