We went on Monday and then went back on Wednesday and rented Kayaks and had an awesome time exploring on our own. Matlacha Boat Rides and Rentals not only does boat tours, dolphin watch tours, but they also rent kayaks, stand up paddle boards, sail boat rentals, and skiff rentals. They also do fishing trips for beginners to experienced anglers. Captain Karl was so knowledgable and even showed us private beaches that had no people on them! How cool is that? Matlacha Boat Rides and Rentals boats are super clean, and well maintained and have a great selection of boats to rent. They also let you request the type of tour and they will customize one for you. They are located at Angler's Inn on Matlacha, Florida. We loved the time we spent on the water. We will defiantly come back. Captain Karl and his wife treated us like we were old friends of theirs. They went above and beyond, helping us with our live bait and information for local fishing. Knowledgeable about all the local areas and what's hitting on what. And their bait is lively and lasts a long time. They'll even help set you up so that your bait lives longer. They're a good helpful humorous bunch! We were there four times on this trip and every time they helped us in a different way. As a former business owner, I highly recommend this group. This bait and tackle shop however was heads and tails above the rest! It has whatever one needs (and does not need) to fish: Rods, reels, bait, clothing, lots of snacks, including ice cream! They had a selection of really nice fishing shirts and we bought a couple for our boys. There is even a table where you can eat! The shop is open late, closing at 9pm the night we were there. By then they did not have live shrimp, but they did have frozen shrimp for sale. The guys who worked there were very friendly and helpful. As a non fishing person, I had plenty of items to browse while my men were getting their bait!

The boat had enough chairs and umbrellas for the whole group. The shelling wasn't wonderful where we landed but the beach was a great walk and several people came back on board with large bags of shells.maybe I was looking the wrong way hahaha. Overall, it was great and our driver Cptn Steve and first mate/naturalist Tom were wonderful.Highly recommend
