Good. My team and I had lunch at Mango Tree high street. Party of 7 and tried many things on the menu. We started with tom yum soup and chicken satay. The satay were good, came out room temperature, which was a bit of a let down. We had ordered two orders. For mains, they are sharing size, so we ordered 3 meats, lemongrass chicken, pork ribs and pork belly. My favorites of the 3 was the pork ribs. Tender and great flavor. A little on the sweet size. The chicken was good too. The pork belly were fairly thin, so they dried out quickly. The biggest disappointment was the crab fried rice. The crab tasted dry? As if it had been sitting out for a while or overcooked. We also had the mango sticky rice which was good. Mangos were a bit sour and a bit too much white sauce, maybe to compensate for the sourness? Overall beautiful dining room. The bar looks great. This place has a chance to be really great. Will give it another try. read more

This is my first dinner at the brick-and-mortar mango tree. I have tried the one inside of the SM mega mall. What I notice is that this establishment has a larger menu. I can tell you right away. The decor is a captivating. I had a good time looking around taking a look at the chandeliers which I find to be beautiful. The weight staff is friendly, nice and more than accommodating. I am truly happy that my food came out hot and as always, they will continue to get my business because they are one of my favorite restaurants here I highly recommend the crab in curry sauce. To be "Frank" - this place sucks. STAY AWAY!!! The waiter was an asshole and the food was bland. I've never had Thai food that has literally 0 spice level at all even when you ask them to make it spicy (had to basically dump the entire thing of red chili pepper on it to get any kind of flavor). The chicken with cashew had no flavor, it was not good. The som tum (papaya salad) wasn't spicy at all (like negative spice) and also lacked flavor - not to mention they make you peel the entire shrimp - why am I having to peel the entire shrimp with my hands??? I don't want to get my hands dirty while I'm eating - why could you have done that before it got to the table? It's one thing to keep the tail on but the entire shell is just plain lazy. I asked if I could add chicken to my pad see ew with shrimp (again, why am I having to peel the entire shrimp?!?! So unnecessary!) and he said no... ok, is it cause the dish is already premade or is it made fresh? (as if it was already premade then I understand a bit more but realistically it shouldn't be an issue still, just cook the chicken on the side and add it and charge me extra - as every other restaurant I've ever been to in my life does...) - no it's made fresh - ok then what is the issue? Just add the chicken to it when you stir fry it and charge me extra, even double idc - "we can't, not allowed to do that." What do you mean not allowed to do that? I'm the customer and I'm willing to pay extra for it - what is the issue? "It ruins the integrity of the dish" - dude, I am the one consuming it, it's up to me if I want the dish made a certain way - so if I had an allergy you're just gonna tell me "sorry can't take it out it's ruins the integrity of the dish" - like what kind of stupid logic is this?? I then asked if I could just add extra shrimp to the dish (which btw it only comes with 3 tiny shrimp so it's a joke to begin with and I had a feeling that was going to be the case which was why I asked for extra meat/shrimp) - no not allowed to add more shrimp, it's a set portion - but I'm willing to pay extra...? No we can't do that. Again, such stupid logic. Lastly - I've never been to a Thai restaurant that doesn't have papaya or passion fruit for fruit juice/smoothie options - staples of Thai cuisine. I asked if I could get a papaya or passion fruit smoothie and they don't have it...? I will never revisit this place again and you should stay clear too!!! This place is just okay. Honestly I probably would have given them 4 stars if the service was better. They have a bunch of staff working yet it was impossible to get our orders taken and impossible to get the check at the end of the night. I ordered the green curry with seafood and it was alright. Spicy, but not overly spicy and not much in it. Pretty small portions. Also, they said I could have as much rice as I want but they make you re-ask for it when you want more. With his bad the service was already this was an impossible task. My love affair with Thai food has just been raised to a whole different level of sophistication. Visiting a friend who was playing music at the al fresco dining area, I took a seat and had a sampling of what he had ordered before I arrived. I must say, the chicken satay was so good that I got inspired to make chicken satay at home the following week. I then stared at the pad thai for a good 5 minutes before I had the nerve to mix it. It's served with what could probably be called "egg art" because of the nice criss-cross pattern of the scrambled egg. With the detail they have for the egg alone, I wasn't surprised that it wasn't just a feast for the eyes, but for the palate as well. Their pad Thai isn't spicy for the convenience of those who can't stand spicy food. But for hot food lovers like me, they give extra spice powder for that extra kick. I've been here four times in the last month while traveling to BGC for work, and I will certainly come again. The staff is exceptional. They are extremely attentive; it's one of the few places I've been in the Philippines where they refill your water as soon as it's a bit low. Miang kham appetizer is like a flavor rainbow in your mouth. It seemed unusual to me but it is so good. The green veggie curry and sticky rice is served hot and delicious. The crab curry and grilled pork shoulder were so delicious and the Isan fried chicken crispy and tasty. Overpriced. That sums up my whole experience in Mango Tree at the Fort. I have been a big fan of Thai food over the years and even experiencing the real deal when I went to Thailand. While waiting for coding to end one Friday, my friend and me decided to go around the Fort and look for a place to kill time. We came across Mango Tree; it was still early so it there was only two tables occupied. We ordered three dishes and our bill was almost 1800 pesos just for three small dishes. The Chicken Satay composed of 5 thin strips of chicken in a barbecue stick was priced at almost 400 pesos, it was absolutely absurd. Their Beef Curry was definitely not worth the 600 pesos price tag it came with. I understand if this was priced like Benjarong in Dusit Thani since that is a hotel but I find their pricing ridiculous. You can even ask for a spot that's a bit far away from the crowd so you and your client can freely converse. Mango Tree is actually my favorite place to get Pad Thai. There's really something about their Pad Thai; they're very generous with the scrambled egg on top that goes well with the noodles and the peanut sauce. The Gai Satay (chicken) goes well with this too! Order also the curry (any form of curry for that matter) - the curry here is not like Indian curry where it's strong. The curry here gives off a faint spicy taste. The ingredients swimming in the curry such as meat and vegetables are cooked just right! The Thais are really good with blending in coconut milk in their dishes so if there is anything you want with coconut milk, don't hesitate on getting that too! For dessert, go for the Mango Sticky Rice. It's a traditional Thai dessert that sort of is like the "suman" of the Philippines. It's pretty good - not too sweet and the serving is good for sharing. read more
