    Tuna chili tartar

Food, service and ambience were good. Asian fusion restaurant, we had a Spicy beef sandwich and tuna chili tartar. The tres leches desert was a bit bitter and wasn't expecting pine nuts crunchy on top.

The torched salmon donburi is a game changer. Mentaiko aioli, ebiko, oboro, divided filet of salmon aburi (cooked thru), skin, black rice (locally sourced), I will dream about this bowl for a long, long, time. Hidden gem in a quiet, no-traffic neighborhood

This review is for this restaurant with the pop-up location at Rockwell's Balmori Suites. The Rockwell location is only going to be at Rockwell until November 2023, but I believe that they are serving some of the food and beverages that you'd be able to find at the Legazpi Village location. My cousin and niece frequently went to the Legazpi Village location after my niece's classes, and then they would wait until the restaurant to open. I like the ambiance at the Balmori Suites. I enjoyed Your Local's food and customer service. We started off with the Tuna Toast and Trout Kinilaw. I liked the Tuna Toast more than the Trout Kinilaw, but I liked the presentation of the Trout Kinilaw more than the Tuna Toast. The majority of the people ordered the Torched Salmon Donburi, and all of them loved what they had. Since I saw numerous ads of the Pork Kare-Curry, I had to try it. The server apologized that the dish did not come with rice, but I am not into rice so that didn't stop me from ordering it. I love kare-kare and curry. It sounded like an interesting fusion, and it did not disappoint. The meat was tender, and I enjoyed how there was just enough peanut sauce so that I could still taste the curry. What a perfect balance of peanut sauce and Japanese curry. I ended my meal with their Mais Con Tres Leches dessert accompanied with their Spanish Latte. Oh my goodness. I am thankful that I split the dessert with someone, because if I didn't I would have finished it all by myself and regretted all the calories I gained. I thoroughly enjoyed all the textures within the dessert. The smooth corn foam, crunchy cereal, moist tres leches cake and subtle pieces of salt are the reasons why I would order this dessert again. I liked this place so much that I told my niece that I wanted to come back the following day to try their Afternoon Tea!

Wow, this place is fantastic. Starting with the tuna tartare and the pork and black rice dish this mean was flavorful and delicious. I mean really outstanding and the OP-UN cocktail is a winner. Im not even a big tequila fan, but this drink was amazing. I will be back, maybe tomorrow night.

What a fantastic meal. I love how flavorful this soup is with all the fresh herbs and vegetables in it .We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was a very satisfying meal.

Ah love everything about this place! It's not a huge place, looks very cool inside, and it's LIT...with candles. We ordered the: Torched salmon donburi = my cousin said this is one of her favorite places for salmon. It was great and very tender. Lamb rendang = interesting texture. Rice and egg complimented the lamb. Very good! Chicken rice = chicken is my least favorite meat but I really liked this. The flavor was good and it was tender as well. There's nothing worse than dry, flavorless chicken. Although it was really good, it was my least favorite out of the three entrees. We got two cocktails except I don't remember which ones, but they were refreshing and sweet! For dessert we had the cereal milk ice cream with cereal on the side. Can't go wrong with this! Thank you and hopefully next time I can make my way back here!

Went there with my friend for dinner last night. It had a fun atmosphere. The food was good and very flavorful. The salmon was cooked to perfection, fork tender (but not to the point of falling apart), the chicken was tender and juicy. The black rice with the salmon and the white ginger rice with the chicken were incredibly flavorful. I could eat just that and be happy. The ginger rice was definitely the star of the chicken dish; outshining the protein. Maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy but I was really disappointed with the acoustics of this place. There was a table of four girls chatting loudly over a bottle of wine. So loud that I could hardly hear my friend. It also irked me that they were out of their famous cereal ice cream desert but still advertised it as a special on their sign board above the bar. Overall I was impressed by the salmon and the flavors of the rice. I'd definitely go back if in Manila again.

Sometimes I think the reason some restaurants get high ratings is because they have been deemed "cool" and it's social suicide to say otherwise. Case in point, Your Local. Sure, Your Local certainly looks the part, with just enough hipster flavor to make things interesting. You wouldn't be off bringing a date over, or your office crew for a bit of a nightcap. The menu looks interesting enough as well. However, while the food makes the grade, it's nothing great. I have never eaten anything here that made me lose my mind. The food was just okay and honestly a bit oily, generally speaking. For the price point, it's frankly disappointing. But sure, three stars.

This is my favorite restaurant in the whole of Manila - for now. They know how people want to eat now - it's young, vibrant, cool, and not so stuffy. It's like good restaurants in the food capitals - London, NY, or HK. There's a really good vibe to this place. The service is also pretty good and the interiors are pretty cool - just simple. The wines are also pretty cheap (160 or so per glass) and they have a good list of interesting cocktails. The food is also pretty terrific. Really interesting pieces inspired by the flavors of Asia. Like the chilli crab in baos, thai-inspired salad with coconut ice cream, and (my favorite) the torched salmon don buri with healthy helpings of ebiko! Tip: Sit at the counter for a real in-the-kitchen experience

One of my favorite go-to combos: Salmon Donburi + Tinker
    Rio J.

It is so hard to have a craving for this restaurant because there is a high risk that it won't be satisifed. Not because the food isn't amazing. But because this place is always BOOKED! The last time I found myself wanting their Salmon Donburi, we had to wait for an hour for our table to free up. Yet, this didn't stop me. I wanted that salmon so bad. Thankfully, it is always worth the wait. Adds an extra punch of "AAHHH, FINALLYYYY" feeling when you're finally downing that Donburi bowl (and that Rendang Bun and that Polish dumpling and that Squid Ink Bun Burger)! With a side of New York cool and a glass of Elderberry-based Tinker, I always end up wanting to savor the meal and the moment forever. Sorry for the wait!

The torched salmon is too much flavor for Americans to handle in my opinion. (Cuban American here) Every corner of the fillet had a unique taste and after combining the flavors it was delightfully saporous. Everything compliments the recipe. The parmesan fries were good, but not as excellent as the salmon. Had a couple of glasses of the Vermel Spanish red wine and it was delicious. When in Legaspi village, Makati check this place out.

    Inside the Your Local

I found out about Your Local here in Yelp (and I'm so thankful that I did!). I was walking around Makati trying to find it and I actually missed the building while walking. When I got there, I didn't even see any signage so I felt like I was going into a secret club. I sat alone and asked the spunky looking girl about their top sellers, and of course the Salmon Donburi was her recommendation. I waited quietly (but all excited inside) for my food. The exhaustion from walking around Makati and the waiting all drew into a very happy conclusion when I had my first bite. It was heavenly! Now, know that I usually eat my salmon raw so the torched version came as a surprise. The cooking process made it so tender and the flavor more explosive, but not overpowering. The bits of spring onions and the crispy salmon skin made it all the more exciting to eat. I love that it came with black rice which was cooked to perfection. Although a bit pricey, I would come back to this place again and again. That salmon donburi is the kind of dish I dream of at night.

From what I've observed so far, a restaurant that tries to be everything at once, fails miserably. But Torch. Torch is different. Damn, that pizza. I can't stop thinking about it. The pizza is commercial worthy. You know when they get pizza slices, scoops it up, the gooey cheese stretches itself out, still attached to the piece in strands, that phenomenon? You will not find any signages along Zamora st because there is none. This is, to be precise, a private dining setup hosted inside the residence of Pablo S. Antonio, national artist for architecture. We were hosted by THE Malu Veloso, renowned fashion designer, who was more than apologetic about losing her voice after two days of entertaining clients. You cannot simply waltz in here and be fed. My Mother's Kitchen is strictly by reservation. You need to call in advance to book your lunch or dinner. You will be given two set meal options, served buffet style. The first one costs P900 and includes a salad with two wonderfully flavorful salad dressings, two pasta sauces (one tomato-based, one chorizo-based, both absolutely divine) with two pasta options, the absolutely incredible Mustard Chicken dish, and a delightfully fluffy cheesecake for dessert. We were also given a salabat-based drink and coffee. The second option had an additional shrimp dish that I had to nix because of my allergies. I made reservations for a 7pm dinner, and we came on time. While waiting for dinner to be served, we were free to roam around that incredible sala, a testament to the visionary genius of Pablo Antonio, as well as peruse some ternos in display, some done by Malu's mom, some done by her. Malu Velose herself came out to make us feel more at home, and she took great lengths to explain the history of the Antonio House, as well as to show some of the items she was working on. Dinner was served by 7:30, and my date and I were floored by EVERYTHING we ate. There was not one bad dish in there, as everything was extraordinary. My date and I really took our time eating, as there was literally nobody else but us in there. Combined with eating in a showcase house and being regaled by a renowned fashion designer, dining at My Mother's Garden was an absolute incredible experience. Absolutely brilliant.

Restaurant I expected it to be warm since it's hole-in-the-wall but it's kinda breezy during the evening, making our stay relaxing. The dine-in space is limited with a few seats outside but they have a bar, high chairs and all. Morning Glory with Garlic This one is typical veggies. It's okay to have for mixing things up but I won't really look for it. Thai Basil Chicken We liked it enough to get an extra order. We shared but each order is already a meal for one person. Thai Stir Fried Glass Noodles This is their Pad Thai. It's good but not the best I've had just yet. Service It was quick up to taking care of the bill.

A bit hidden on P. Guanzon, the street directly facing the frontside of A.Venue Mall, this restaurant is widely known among the neighborhood, but could be easily located on an online map. Dining was an easy breezy as the dishes are described in the updated menu spread with photos of their best-selling items. We had their famous Mee Goreng, Beef Rendang, and Thai Iced Tea. Our food was served in less than 15 minutes, considered fast for table-service restaurants. Calling the attention of the service crew, asking for recommendations, and ordering were all easy. Most service crews were welcoming, though we encountered one who just grabbed the menu spread and the tissue rack off our table when we were still dining. We didn't mind, but it could have been much more courteous if she spoke with us and asked for permission, as we were still eating. Also, the music could have been much softer to preserve the relaxing vibe, because it was hard to hear my companions when we were chatting, to the point that we had to shout at each other. Their Mee Goreng was full of ingredients and a plate could serve up to two to three people--but less in seafood. I mean, what's a "spicy seafood noodles" without much spice and just a few pieces of seafood? It was flavorful and a bit on the sweet-spicy side, may be catering to Filipino tongues that are used to the sweet palette. Beef Rendang, their take on Malaysia's spicy beef curry, was an instant favorite. The meat in the dish generously spicy and soft that it tasted like it was braised slowly and carefully. With rice, the dish can only serve and would leave you wishing you'd have more. The Thai Iced Tea was the spice quencher, if it suddenly feels hot when eating both the Mee Goreng and the Beef Rendang. Crying Tiger is definitely a must-visit in the area if you crave for Southeast Asian dishes, but make sure to get a table before groups go in around dinnertime as it gets full with avid patrons.
