We enjoyed the food and went back a few nights later. Plenty of vegetarian options and a nice selection of drinks and cocktails. It"s a large well lit space and I would go back if I'm in the neighborhood again.

A solid 4 stars from me (5 stars is reserved for my mind being blown). ATMOSPHERE: Really awesome. This location has everything upstairs so you enter and there's a few stairs or a lift to take you to the main area. The bar area boasts plenty of seating with stools and couches as well to cater to groups of various sizes. Despite being a bar, it's quite upscale and kept very clean. The décor is very interesting as well with a very interesting mural on the wall reminiscent of 1950s Soviet propaganda which definitely amused us! CUSTOMER SERVICE: Long queues at the bar, but the staff did their best to keep up with demand. After ordering food, everything took a reasonable time to arrive and our waitress took great care of us. No problems at all with the service. FOOD & DRINKS: Their pina colada was excellent. For food, I had the Roasted Pork Belly. Cooked very well, the only fault is that the gravy was a bit bland and required quite a bit of extra seasoning from myself to give it a bit more life. Also tried the Whole Baked Camembert which came with some chutney and bread. Can't go wrong with excellent camembert! --- Overall, the food was great and well cooked. Our large group was well looked after and everything came at the same time which a lot of places don't pull off well at all. No faults that I can find! I would definitely come back again.

As if that wasn't enough it hosts live music certain nights and quiz nights. It once hosted a Doctor Who themed quiz night. If that's not enough to please you then I don't know what will! I was luckily enough to go to a staff party in their function room upstairs with a full bar. The whole mood and atmosphere is very relaxed and we all had an excellent time there. They even supplied us with their food. They food looks unique and tastes incredible. Although I was confused to deciding whether what I was eating was a roasted parsnip or a well cooked French fry. To this day I still don't know what it was. This bar is a great place to hang out in groups. It's a friendly place that offers a variety of cocktails and it has a happy hour. The only thing that brings it down slightly is the prices like it's sisters Buffalo and Mr Smith's. So prepare to dig a little deeper in your wallet. 10 Feet Tall is a wonderful bar where you can enjoy a lunch or have great night out with all the events that they host. Just be warned you may spend a little much. I would go after pay day!

This bar opened just before I went away to New Zealand and it has been a very pleasant rediscovery on my part. Great nights have been had here, and as I'm not really a fan of just getting too drunk, this is a wonderful place to get tipsy and chat about the Enlightenment. Atmosphere really is the thing that sets this bar apart from others in the surrounding area. And atmosphere is the one thing that keeps bringing me and my cohorts back time and time again. It's classy and funky without seeming snobbish in the slightest. Which is quite an achievement, I think. An excellent place for a night out, or the beginning of a night, if you're that way inclined. Best to get there a little earlier to claim the seats and fill up on tapas.

Never have I been so disappointed in a place as I have been with this one. The decor and sound of everything on the menu was just outstanding. I was visiting my boyfriend's family in Wales when they suggested us go here for a late lunch. They said that the customer service was a bit lousy as the place tries to be hipsterish (is bad customer service associated with hipsters!? I don't know but hellllllll naw if so), but that the food and atmosphere was pretty on point. We arrived there with a fairly large group and found our way upstairs to sit. The decor of the place was quirky and rather cool, in my opinion. I also loved the large wooden tables. The restaurant is swarming with children and super loud music. The children are obviously nothing to complain about (as I was with children at the time), but the music was soooo loud. We were sat in a corner near a speaker, but it was still unmanageable when we initially sat at another table initially. I couldn't even hear those around me speak. We were told that Fino had great burgers. I opted for a falafel and butternut squash burger and my boyfriend opted for the Hero burger. The falafel burger (which comes on a brioche bun) also comes with a tomato and red pepper chutney, wood roasted peppers, red onions, a side of slaw, french fries, and halloumi and ruccola on the burger. Nothing was that tasty. The falafel itself was super dry and overly sweet. The chutney tasted way too sweet and almost more like a jam instead of a balanced out chutney. The halloumi was okay but not enough of it. The fries were alright, but I wish we had been given a menu option instead of fries. And the slaw was just terrible. Pickle that stuff guys! Or something! It was really lousy. The brioche bun (which, too, was dry) was too sweet for this sweet of a dish. My boyfriend will review his burger (which he thought was awful) on another review. His mother ordered a salmon fish cake and was extremely disappointed, as well. She said it was overly dry and the poached egg on top was way overdone. One of my bigger complaints about this place is that it tries to be innovative and 'hip', yet has the crappiest beer selection of nearly any place I have ever been. Not many craft beers or even Welsh beers. I ordered a Cruiser Atlantic Pale Ale. It was alright, but more choices (AND NOT PERONI) would have been pretty amazing. I'm certainly not going to be heading back here next time I'm in Cardiff. The menu and place has so much potential. And given the ratings on Yelp, it seems as though most people don't mind the food. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

Black and white pictures on the wall. The murmurs and whirrs of polite conversation and coffee machines. I've been here before but it only opened yesterday? How could this be? Then it hits me. It's like déjà vu all over again. Juno Lounge. Can you copyright a pub? If you can then Juno should have done it because Brains have made no secret where they got their inspiration from. To plonk it on the same block shows some cajones. So you get free wi-fi and a selection of warm filled focaccias. The beer is in the three pound ballpark - Amstel, 45, the elusive Brains Black, the increasingly common Stowford Press, Brains Bitter and a guest called Grumpy Landlord on pull with Peroni clocking in at £3.95. They have nuts and olives in huge jars rather than in packets. There's a patisserie display and a fresh orange juice and smoothie machine. Service is a bit slow and awkward, but they'll gel with time. Knick-knacks, bric-a-brac, give the (guide) dog a bone. Arcane books that will never be read. A spiral staircase that ascends to a quieter seating area and descends to the toilets. Big plants and a candle on every table. Lamps, lamps and more lamps. The Pear Tree is for sophisticated students, for young families for whom a Harvester doesn't cut the mustard, for the twitterati, for anyone for whom Moon Safari is a cornerstone in their collection. This is the new drinking culture according to Brains. Bow down or bog off.

Ooh, look at Brains going all café-bar-tastic!…read more Sam E has summed up this brand new establishment perfectly. It fits in very comfortably in an area that's home to trendy students, young families, and yummy mummies with time to lunch with their friends. There's wi-fi, a choice of board games, a freshly squeezed orange juice machine, plenty of lush plants, and jars of olives by the bar. All very respectable. It's not the type of Brains drinking den where you'll find Curry & A Pint promotions - more 'Tapas & A Drink' (for £7.95 between 5pm and 7pm from Monday to Friday). But I think it's a shrewd move on the brewery's part to open up this type of hybrid café-bar establishment where you can enjoy a good cup of coffee OR a pint, take small children if you want to, and have a decent conversation over lunch and a glass of wine.
