I don't discriminate with food so you will find me at a nice restaurant, a truck, a cart, a dive…read morerestaurant, a bar and in back of the liquor store hot table. I stumbled across this place with my Yelp trick, if you are in an area away from home look for restaurants in the area because you will see options that don't show on the generic Yelp search from home and I do this while traveling also. Ok the low down on this hidden gem and I always say that you have to get off of Main Street and into the neighborhoods no matter how good or bad they are because that's where the nuggets are. This is a small neighborhood market/liquor store with a diverse hot food table that is like soul food crashed into Puerto Rican food with cat fish, fried chicken, chicken soup, bbq looking food and Puerto Rican classics. I had no service issues and everyone was friendly but some Yelpers might have a problem with the area but it's never stopped me. I was only there Puerto Rican items even though the fried chicken was very tempting. The P/R rice was a definite and I had to ask about other items like the potato ball and the dark tamale looking thing. The P/R rice was seasoned slightly compared to rest of my food and clumpy with beans in it. The potato ball was fu%king delicious and amazing seasoned nicely. It's like a crispy thin pastry shell that has a layer of mashed potatoes and a ground beef center, shepherds pie in a ball OMG I have to have again. The dark cigar looking thing is similar to a tamale with like a plant based texture/taste with shredded pork inside that was seasoned well and spiced nicely. OMG this is such a delicious gem in the back of a liquor store and well worth the drive so I can't wait to go back.

I had forgotten about Pueblo but the other night a coworker and I stopped there after work. I had…read morebeen for beer and small necessities before but never tried the food. I was hungry and in the mood to get something to take home so there we were. I should say that their beer prices and selection are pretty good for the size and location of the store. They generally have Dogfish Head, Three Sheeps, and a few others that you don't always find everywhere even if they're not exactly rare. Prices are generally good for the other items in the store too. There's a lot of teas and some other dry goods. But we were there for the deli. It was definitely past peak hours and some items were sold out. But I got some (yellow?) rice and some beef stew. The seasoned rice was flavorful for being so deceptively simple. The beef stew was good too if a little salty. I would definitely come back more toward lunchtime. I've always liked the mom-and-pop "neighborhood" vibe about Pueblo too. If I lived closer I would be there more often.

WHERE to begin? I've…read morebeen familiar with B&B since its earliest days (which roughly coincided with the earliest days of another great Milwaukee institution, Outpost Natural Foods -- where I was a member and volunteer). A good friend of mine cooked at B&B for a while. As young, recent college grads, my wife and I regularly ate there. Along with Oriental Drugs, the Blue River Cafe, The Outpost and Century Hall, B&B was a favorite, comforting go-to spot. Although I couldn't visit very often during my 25 years on the west coast, I was so very happy to know that it was still here, and as wonderful as ever, when I returned to Wisconsin in 2008. How funny to think that this tremendous haven for those wanting to include at least some vegetarian foods in their diet occupied the spot once known for Frenchy's restaurant (the place famous/infamous for its bear and lion steaks)! I'll need a new place to eat before going to the Oriental Theater. And I'll need a long time to process the sadness I feel. All the best to the owners and staff . . . and here's hoping that maybe B&B will live on in another location.

So sad to see this place closing (this coming January). Great comfort food and a haven for…read morevegetarians. Stop by before the end of January 2026!

The new Sendiks in WFB was done beautifully. The store is bright with wide aisles and offers much…read moremore than just grocery shopping. This location is two stories and includes a coffee bar, gift shop, boutique shopping, and a restaurant & bar. I love that they carry local Wisconsin items such as my favorite pasta, Dalla Terra. They have a very nice deli and hot bar and this place has so far been bustling. The grocery prices here are definitely higher than others I've been to. For example: two organic bell peppers are $6.99! One lesson I've learned so far is to not go during 12-1 on a weekday during the school year. It seems like most of the high school kids who get an off-campus lunch go to Sendiks to eat and it's pretty chaotic.

Holy upgrade! The original WFB Sendik's Food Market was knocked down earlier this year, and the new…read moreand improved re-build was just complete. Absolutely blown away with this (MEGA) upgrade. For starters, it's probably 5x the size of the previous grocery store. My biggest take away is how bright, open, and airy the entire place is. So much space. Also everything is just so aesthetic and well-organized. Beyond typical groceries, this place now provides a full-service coffee bar, massive made-to-order section (think: hot plates, sandwich bar, sushi, burrito bar, etc), a lovely shopping boutique section with local goods, huge mezzanine in the upper space with lots of seating, and an almost-complete restaurant on the top floor. More than just grocery shopping, it's an *experience*

Aldi in Glendale provides a decent and somewhat rewarding shopping experience…read more The upsides are the prices and the store layout. Its easy to find what you're looking for - as long as they have it in stock. The downside is the required speed at which the cashier is expected to scan your items. They are expected to scan up to 1200 items per hour or up to 50 items per minute. Aldi uses a performance metric which specifically rates cashiers efficiency - specifically the speed at which one transaction concludes and the next one commences. So why, in my opinion, is this considered a downside? It's because when I shop at Aldi's, I carry my own bag and do not use a cart. At checkout, the cashier will not place my purchased items in my opened bag as they are being scanned - placing them instead in the cart which speeds the process up but is inconvenient because I then have to remove them from the cart and put them into the opened bag - which is already IN the cart - all while the person behind me has to wait until the cart has been emptied so they can use it. Will this stop me from shopping at Aldi's? Certainly not. It's a minor inconvenience. The positives vastly outweigh the negatives. Something else worth mentioning - their fruit quality is hit-or-miss. Sometimes its fabulous and sometimes its not, especially the pre-bagged produce. Again, this will not keep me from the store.

Here's the thing I'll vouch for Aldi all day long. Love it, love the prices, love their standards,…read morelove their random isle of specials and home goodies. But hot dang this location needs more staffing. It's our usual location, so we're weekly visitors, and everytime we're there the line for checkout is sprawling down the isles. It feels rare more than one register is open. But staff themselves? Soo nice, just nowhere near enough of them. Consider this my plea. As for the store itself, this one is up to date, always very well-kept, and fully stocked!
