He takes the time with you that is needed and we have never felt rushed. The staff has always been friendly and helpful in every way. We have left messages with the receptionist and that very same day Dr. Kovachevich returns our calls. It's rare to hear from your doctor these days. He cares, he's fair (even above and beyond generous) in his billing. The office is always clean and neat. That is huge! We have no problem recommending Dr. Guy Kovachevih.

My journey through the American healthcare system has been both eye-opening and deeply troubling,…read moreunderscoring a stark reality: health is often treated as a luxury rather than a fundamental right. From the onset of my symptoms in 2021, it became painfully clear that preventative care and patient advocacy were sorely lacking. This narrative is not just mine but a reflection of a systemic issue that demands urgent attention and reform. Under the care of Dr. Kovacevich, a new PCP recommended by a friend, there was a glimmer of hope. He suggested an MRI of my lumbar spine and a consultation with a spine specialist. Despite these steps, the journey was fraught with insurance hurdles, delays, and ultimately, misdiagnoses that led to irreversible damage. United Healthcare's denial of a medically necessary MRI based on their guidelines is a stark example of the bureaucratic barriers patients face, prioritizing cost over care. The diagnosis journey was a labyrinth of inconclusive tests, insurance denials, and treatments based on assumptions rather than evidence. From being misdiagnosed with Shingles without a rash, leading to a diagnosis of Post Herpetic Neuralgia, to the discovery of acute scoliosis and undergoing physical therapy, each step felt like a battle against a system that failed to listen or understand. The critical turning point came in October 2022, when my condition worsened, leading to a loss of peripheral feeling and paralysis symptoms. Despite the urgency, my concerns were minimized, and I was advised to "wait it out", due to Dr. Numerof believing all this was, was a "pinched nerve". This delay in diagnosis and treatment culminated in a devastating outcome when in February 2023 (through my own persistence and advocacy in finding a neurologist): a T7/T8 Spinal Cord Cavernoma (tumor) diagnosis that was treated with a complex laminectomy in May 2023, leaving me with irreversible damage and a disability. The lack of follow-up and communication from my healthcare providers, especially in critical moments, added layers of frustration and despair to an already challenging situation. The journey through misdiagnosis, delayed treatment, and the eventual realization of a life-altering condition has been a wake-up call to the profound deficiencies in our healthcare system. This review is not just a recount of my personal ordeal but a plea for systemic change. It highlights the need for a healthcare system that prioritizes patient-centered care, preventative measures, and a more humane approach to health as a right, not a privilege. My hope is that by sharing my story, it will spark a dialogue and, ultimately, lead to a healthcare system that truly cares for its patients before it's too late.

I opted for a…read morechemical peel which is something brand new to me (I'd previously been in for a halo laser treatment). Making the appointment was quick and easy and I was excited to get squeezed in a little earlier than anticipated. Upon arrival I found a convenient parking spot in the lot just behind the building. There's an elevator available to bring you up to the 3rd floor, being the Boulderite that I am I took the stairs. I enjoyed a cup of cool refreshing water, a mini snickers, and just took in all the products and brochures available in the waiting area. The waiting area is open, clean, and full of lots of great natural light. I completed some paperwork which replaced my out of date paperwork on file. Within a few minutes Anne came out to greet me (she is the same awesome gal that administered my halo). We went on back and discussed the treatment further which included what I could expect during, and after the appointment, as well as aftercare. Once on the table I felt relaxed, confident, and ready to get started. Anne suited me up with a band to keep the hair out of my face, cleansed my skin and prepped it for the chemical peel. She administered each layer of the chemical peel always checking in to see how I felt before moving on to the next step. Before I knew it I was out the door and on my way back to work. Aside from a slight glow and the odd hairband my colleagues were none the wiser to this most exciting lunch break of mine.

If there's something that a person wants to improve or enhance, I'm all about it & the confidence it will give them. Of course, within reason. I've heard some pretty good things about Boulder Valley, so I decided to check them out. They run a clean and modern establishment that does surgery in house. The ladies that help Dr. Swail are pretty nice and friendly. I did wait a little longer then anticipated in the waiting room but I really didn't mind too much since I wasn't on any particular schedule that day. The roomy waiting area had a box of toys for kids to enjoy and tea or coffee available if you wish to grab a cup. Dr. Swail was kind and I felt comfortable with him. He was also reasonable with pricing which was great because I've researched many doctors back home in California that are qualified and priced right. Nonetheless, I am fairly local to this area and would love to patronize a great practice. I am still doing my due-diligence (as should all of you) but Boulder Valley is up there in the ranking of potential places to get some work done. Not sure exactly when & exactly what I will be getting, but I do know I have the option to come back here to discuss further when the time comes. I recommend giving them a call and going in for a consult!!! So far, I'm a fan :)

I'd say all three stars are for Dr. Niedermeier, because he's amazing. I even moved 3 hours away…read moreand continued to use him as my primary care provider because of how awesome he is. But my problems have been on the administrative side, unfortunately. On my last in-person visit, I was told that they were going to drop me as a patient because I missed 4 appointments, and when I started telling them that this was physically impossible because I have an Adderall prescription and I wouldn't have been able to have that refilled without attending an appointment, I was cut off and told "sir, I don't just make this stuff up" Well, obviously the system says that, perhaps things got messed up because I do all of my appointments via FaceTime (the whole being 3 hours away) but the front desk person wouldn't hear it and kept being blatantly rude. but once in my appt I told the nurse and she said she'd fix it for me, and gave it the benefit of the doubt in case it was a bad day, while still being pretty upset by the encounter. Cool, great, no worries at all. Fast forward to today, I was trying to adjust my medication. It wasn't wild, I was prescribed 10mg capsules at a 15 mg dosage to split and use at alternating times, but I had asked to switch the prescription to 15mg capsules because my pharmacy is back ordered on 10mg capsules. They said they sent a message to one of the doctors' teams and they'd get back to me within 24-48hrs, but as I began asking about something else I was hung up on mid sentence. Honestly, it was just no longer worth the hassle anymore of trying to keep Niedermeier as a doctor. There's been other minor grievances on the admin side that wasn't large enough to dissuade me, but today I cancelled my appt in the portal and finally switched to a provider in my area. Most likely a wonderful place to stay at if you're in person, exclusively, but it has had too many headaches and callousness for myself.
