An email with enticing fall specials brought me back in for a long overdue visit. I opted for a chemical peel which is something brand new to me (I'd previously been in for a halo laser treatment). Making the appointment was quick and easy and I was excited to get squeezed in a little earlier than anticipated. Upon arrival I found a convenient parking spot in the lot just behind the building. There's an elevator available to bring you up to the 3rd floor, being the Boulderite that I am I took the stairs. I enjoyed a cup of cool refreshing water, a mini snickers, and just took in all the products and brochures available in the waiting area. The waiting area is open, clean, and full of lots of great natural light. I completed some paperwork which replaced my out of date paperwork on file. Within a few minutes Anne came out to greet me (she is the same awesome gal that administered my halo). We went on back and discussed the treatment further which included what I could expect during, and after the appointment, as well as aftercare. Once on the table I felt relaxed, confident, and ready to get started. Anne suited me up with a band to keep the hair out of my face, cleansed my skin and prepped it for the chemical peel. She administered each layer of the chemical peel always checking in to see how I felt before moving on to the next step. Before I knew it I was out the door and on my way back to work. Aside from a slight glow and the odd hairband my colleagues were none the wiser to this most exciting lunch break of mine. read more

Bold & Beautiful As JT said in the movie Bad Teacher, "I'm pro-choice." Well folks, I couldn't agree more! If there's something that a person wants to improve or enhance, I'm all about it & the confidence it will give them. Of course, within reason. I've heard some pretty good things about Boulder Valley, so I decided to check them out. They run a clean and modern establishment that does surgery in house. The ladies that help Dr. Swail are pretty nice and friendly. I did wait a little longer then anticipated in the waiting room but I really didn't mind too much since I wasn't on any particular schedule that day. The roomy waiting area had a box of toys for kids to enjoy and tea or coffee available if you wish to grab a cup. Dr. Swail was kind and I felt comfortable with him. He was also reasonable with pricing which was great because I've researched many doctors back home in California that are qualified and priced right. Nonetheless, I am fairly local to this area and would love to patronize a great practice. I am still doing my due-diligence (as should all of you) but Boulder Valley is up there in the ranking of potential places to get some work done. Not sure exactly when & exactly what I will be getting, but I do know I have the option to come back here to discuss further when the time comes. Terrible experience. Jeffrey (surgeon and owner) is extremely rude and doesn't seem to genuinely care about his patients and their health. They wanted me back for a post op 24 hours after surgery. When I couldn't make it because I was in so much pain, I had called to let the office know. Well, the following day, (Saturday) I felt liquid in my collarbones and when I pressed down it would feel bubbly. I called the emergency line in hopes of being reassured that all was okay and that it was normal. The response I got from Jeffrey was "I'm on my way to my sons hockey game and there's no way I'm missing it. I could try and meet you back at the office afterwards." I wasn't even asking him to see me, I was asking if he thought I should go to the hospital. He never called afterwards to see how I was doing or if it had gotten better or worse. After months of me wearing the band 24/7 in hopes of it dropping both breasts completely, my right breast remained higher and harder than the left. I was rescheduled for the revision 3 different times due to issues on their end. When I had gone in for my 12 pm surgery and was told that I would be in and out within an hour, I wasn't even taken back to have the IV put in until an hour of me waiting in the lobby. The nurse who gave me the IV said that they would try and have me out by 5 pm. I live an hour away and my fiancé and baby were waiting in the car for me. I told her that I would not be able to do the surgery that day if I would be at the office until 5 PM. She then said that Dr. Swail was very chatty and got behind. When Jeffrey entered the room, I expressed to him how I was frustrated because I was very flexible with them from the beginning and they still had me waiting. His response to me was, "this is a surgery, are you really wanting me to rush it? Today is just not a good day." Well, thats not my problem. I shouldnt have been scheduled on a day that they would just try and "squeeze me in." He then said, "are you sure? you're subjecting yourself to do this all over again" referring to me fasting and the whole pre surgery process. When I left the office, it was over a week that had passed and I hadn't heard from anyone attempting to reschedule my surgery. I had to reach out to them to reschedule my revision and once I was there for the surgery I wasn't even fully sedated. I felt everything and was conscious. They told me to keep the band on 24/7 once again and that I did. It has been months now since my revision and my right breast remains the exact same as it did prior to the revision. I went through that pain and suffering for a second time for absolutely no reason. I emailed them expressing my frustration and I've heard nothing back. I finally called and went in for an appointment and all he did was offer to do ANOTHER revision. He also said that he couldn't promise it wouldnt leave my breast's more asymmetrical. If you're going to spend your money getting any type of surgery done, I would not recommend going to Jeffrey Swail. What a waste. read more

Ladies, if you have been considering getting a breast augmentation I highly recommend Dr. Jeffrey Swail at Boulder Valley Plastic Surgery. I recently had surgery at his facility and everything went as smooth as I could ever hope for. I was nervous, even though Dr. Swail has been in practice for 13 years and has performed thousands of breast augmentations. His staff was polite and friendly and I had no snags or hold ups. The office manager Roberta was also very helpful and I had no problem getting financing with a co-signer (even though I have bad credit) I have to say right after my surgery I felt like a concrete slab fell on my chest and could not move out of bed, so I just slept. When I finally woke up and looked at them they were perfect, even with the swelling. I'm so happy with the results. I was about a C cup and added 340 CC's to enhance and make my breast perkier because they had a little sag to them. I have been considering a breast augmentation for quite a few years. I have also done a lot of research/browsing. Enough can not be said for Dr. Swail and his beautiful work, kindness, professionalism, and the quiet assuredness that he possesses. From our initial consultation through surgery and our post op appointment - it has felt as though Dr. Swail is committed to me by his managing expectations, listening to me, and carefully taking me through this process step by step. And....one knows his commitment to his profession comes from such a heart space when you see all the photos of children helped through the SMILE project - of which he participates in correcting severe cleft palates. I had a breast augmentation done years ago by a doctor who took liberties and did what he wanted and fully disregarding my wants. I was unhappy for years. This past summer, one of my implants popped. Knowing I wanted to stay far away from the guy who did my first surgery I called several doctors and Dr. Swail's office was the only office to return my call in a timely manner. I had a consult scheduled for the next day with surgery a couple days after. Not only did Dr. Swail remove/replace the old implants, but he also listened to my wishes and did what I wanted and fixed what I did not like from my first surgery. After three months I noticed one was larger than the other and voiced my concern to Dr. Swail (I also told him that I actually wanted bigger implants as well) . MY WIFE POSTED THE FOLLOWING: REVIEW 1: I had Dr. Swail replace my leaking implant which I had for 10 years. Dr. Swail was able to go in through the original incision so there was no additional scaring. The new implants are amazing! Although I decided to stay with saline, they look and feel VERY natural! My first saline implants were harder and somewhat stiff. While I was under, Dr. Swail was able to remove a small mole on my face which did not leave a scar at all. I flew in all the way from Florida because I heard how wonderful Dr. Swail is and I certainly was not disappointed!! I would definitely recommend Dr. Swail to anyone who needs plastic surgery! Had breast implants placed just over 3 years ago, and a tummy tuck and lipo done just over 2 years ago. I did a huge amount of research before deciding on Dr. Swail. The surgery part seemed to go smoothly, for breasts at first. After tt, everything looked frightening! They just kept telling me it could take a year to settle and look somewhat normal. I asked a lot of questions during the consult. I was informed after spending this kind of money, if I did not like the appearance or if something didnt turn out right it would be no cost to me to revise it. When getting the tt I was actually only interested in having a small amount of skin removed since it really wasnt bad except a c section pooch and loose belly button that I could gently pull down with my hands and would tighten up. He convinced me that I needed a full tummy tuck, a much more expensive procedure. In March of this year after being repeatedly told it would settle and look less lumpy and it was still very lumpy, he did a free revision and changed the plan the morning of the revision surgery after I had taken valium to calm my nerves since they were using a local anesthesia so not to have to pay that fee, stating he wanted to just do lipo instead of cutting out the hard lumps we talked about during the consult, I said please stick to the plan as I felt again he was trying to cheap out and it wasnt ethical to bring that up to me when I was in an altered state of conciousness, nor was I in a position to understand or agree to changes. He looked extremely frustrated with me and said, "ok fine then!" He never told me that if a revision was needed I wouldnt be put under during the consult. He seemed to be very irritated and annoyed with me that I would come in and even have the gall to say I was unhappy so it made me feel very uncomfortable as it was doing the revision. He made it feel like sending food back at a seedy resturaunt more than someone who cared. As you can imagine, I was extremely nervous and after several months the lumps are even worse, it doesnt look like he even excised the area in question more than a tiny section of the area we had discussed leaving an even larger protrusion at the incision site as well as crepey saggy skin around my whole tt scar. So now its all MUCH worse than if I hadnt done anything at all. My worse nightmare. My breasts also started leaking and shifting in the last few weeks. So I immediately called him since I was told they would be covered completely no matter what for 10 years. I read that the FDA recommends a CT scan after the 1st 3 years, and he never once brought that up. Today at the appointment he actually said he sees nothing wrong and he could do a breast lift and another full tummy tuck. My jaw about hit the floor. This man is money hungry and his staff is very stuck up and will treat you like they are better than you. I now need to go to a different doctor and pay who knows how much to fix this disaster. He is very nice, but if anything goes wrong he will treat you like you are the scum of the earth for even finding the courage to ask about it. I have never been so mortified. I read about another patient who was also told they were given all these discounts ect and I had the same experience. I think most people dont come forward with their review bcz these are very private matters but I feel that anyone who considers him to give him your money and allow him to operate on you should know before making this very big, life changing decision you probably had to save up to get. This was a dream for me and now he doesnt even care. He just wants more money from me or to go somewhere else. He said that. He can either do another full tt and breast lift at my expense or I can go elsewhere. Just save yourself and go to a better facility. SAVE YOURSELF! DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR! read more

Dr. Swails might be a good surgeon, but......So we make an appt and before the appt I'm told that they accept Medicaid. I'm needing a reduction due to health issues and they were aware of this when I made the consult appt. On the day of the appt they made my husband and I wait for 40min to tell me that they do not accept Medicaid. I just don't understand why when I called and made the appt they told me yes. Why the heck would you not say anything as soon as I walked in this instead of making me wait 40min. So unprofessional to make someone wait no less not call ahead of time. No courtesy at all. I had Dr. Swail remove my 12 year old saline implants and replace them with silicone memory implants. The boobs I got are adequate, nothing special, but certainly better than they were. What I object to is the doctors bedside manner. I had no pre or post up photos and throughout the proceeding Dr Swail conveyed a lack of interest which I found baffling. I came in two weeks post op with significant pain in my left breast. after a long wait, the distracted doctor riffled through my papers saying vaguely that he didn't remember doing anything particularly different with that breast I was concerned with infection, but he wasn't. He sent me out still wondering. Why didn't he give me an antibiotic just to be sure? I returned a few weeks later still with persistent pain in my left breast, but this time they just sat me in a room for forty minutes, no apologies, no excuse...they'd just forgotten about me. They might not think my time is valuable, but I do, so I left, furious for frittering away 40 minutes of my day, in pain, riffling through a people magazine. ik spend 7,500 and this is the respect I get? I'm appalled.If the pain persists any longer I will consult another surgeon. I will not be shut in a room and forgotten again. read more

I visited Dr. Swail and his wonderful staff for a scar revision from a bike crash a few years back. I wanted a conservative treatment and nothing that involved significant changes. My crash had left me with three distinctly different types of scars due to being on the nose, cheek, and lip. During my consult, Dr. Swail easily spent 45min examining each of the scars closely under magnification , explaining their type, as well as treatment options. I really appreciated his straight forward approach, down to earth demeanor, and extensive knowledge of my options. Based on my interaction with Dr. Swail and his very attentive staff, I chose BVPS for my procedure. When the day came, the staff took great care of me and the procedure went very well. I purchased a groupon for a microneedling session with Anne. I had zero experience with microneedling (and have never tried peels, or anything, though I've been interested for awhile) and was a bit nervous before the session began. Anne was kind and put me at ease, and it was not nearly as painful as I had imagined (and had read online). She explained she was proud of their combination of numbing creams which really make the experience much more comfortable and I believe they truly have a good thing going on there. While my eyes teared up and a few came down, it was more of my body's reaction to what was going on near my eyes, as opposed to crying due to ridiculous pain (like I imagined!) and the actual microneedling session was over in 6-7 minutes, maybe less. I am already looking forward to continuing to do this in the future to prevent aging in a more natural way (as opposed to chemical peels). I had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Swail for a consult last year after loosing 40 lbs. I was at that time just interested in just a tummy tuck. He was kind, understanding and answered all of my questions. He made me feel at ease. I was happy with what he said and wanted to book surgery right then and there, but I waited. I knew that I wanted to loose more weight so that I would have the the best results possible. I lost the last of my weight and started thinking about having a breast lift with my tummy tuck. So I met with him again. He congratulated me on my weight loss and said that I would have a good result with a breast lift in addition to a tummy tuck. I met with April and scheduled my surgery for a few months out. During that time I got to thinking again, I thought that I wouldn't be happy with just a breast lift, I wanted a little more. So I met with him again. I thought for sure that he would be tired of seeing me for consults but nope! He took the time to discuss my options and I decided on implants with the lift. OK surgery day!! I felt safe to tell him all of my concerns, as well as my hopes of what I wanted the surgery to accomplish.
