I have patronized this restaurant several times and I've noticed that when the owner (short Asian woman) would give me back my change, she would short me every single time. I always ask for a recipe because I scan my recipes for Fetch. I have watched customers, before me, not look at their change. They just put their money away. The very first time that l visited this spot l told her she owed me .25 cents. The second or third time she did the same thing. Each time, she never once apologized. She would just opened the draw and handed me my money. Mind you, whenever l go there in person, it's hardly busy so she can't use that as an excuse. Now it's six months later and last night (May 9th, 2026) she does it again but shorted me .20 cents. I will not go back because now l know that she's doing this purposely. Just imagine what her overage is at the end of the month after her doing this to every customer. That money adds up. read more

On September 19 around 7pm, I visited Mandarin Wok and ordered the chicken curry. I signed the receipt but accidentally left the tip section blank. The next day, I noticed I was charged $20.27 for what should have been a $16 order. I called the restaurant, and Sophia kindly answered. She invited me to come in so we could resolve the issue together. When I arrived, she patiently pulled out every receipt from that day and worked with me to find mine. At first, my card number didn't match any of the receipts she showed, which made the process take longer. Still, she remained patient, understanding, and determined to help. Eventually, we located my receipt, though it displayed a different card number. Despite the confusion, Sophia contacted their support team, who confirmed that I had been accidentally overcharged. They assured me a refund would be issued within the week and apologized for the mistake. They also promised that if the refund didn't process, I could come back to receive it directly at the restaurant. I truly appreciate Sophia's patience and honesty throughout this experience. It's rare to find businesses that handle situations like this with such integrity. Because of her excellent service, I highly recommend Mandarin Wok and will definitely be returning! read more

I've been going to this Chinese restaurant for as long as I can remember and I've always loved the food and it's always been worth the wait; however if you are in a rush you can go and eat any other of the 15 different restaurants in atoka/munford. Anyways 10/10 love it read more

I'M DONE... They WILL NOT fire your food until you've arrived, stood in line with everyone else (whether they've ordered ahead or not), paid then waited while your food is prepared and packaged...even though they offer online and phone ordering. By the way, when you order online, there's no way to pay for your order, so it's pointless. I've suffered this madness at least a dozen times and I've never waited less than 20 minutes, and it's usually 30 minutes or more. The first few times, the wait was bearable but the last 6-7 times I've been, there is ZERO A/C running and it's at least 90°F inside. The place is tiny, so at busy times, you're crammed in like sardines in the desert. Tonight was THE LAST STRAW....after ordering online, showing up at the time the online ordering system said my food would be ready and standing in line for around 20 minutes after that, a woman walked right up to the counter, completely disregarding the line, and was serviced ahead of everyone else waiting who had ordered ahead like her. There were 10 customers (I counted), most of whom by that time had been talking and lamenting about the fact that they had either ordered online or by phone an hour or more in advance. One woman said she ordered 2 hours ahead and still had to wait like everyone else. My recommendation is to either drive to a much better managed Chinese restaurant or cook your own because it will take about the same amount of time. NEVER. Meat that should be crispy from deep frying was covered in a gluey, doughy substrate. I literally could not imagine the meat being cooked to safe temps with how under the breading was. The sauce had obviously not seen the better part of 60 seconds in even the most sizzling wok/pan...might as well have put the sugar on to melt after the rest came off the heat. Two criticisms... the restaurant just doesn't "feel " clean (if that makes sense) and the cashier (owner) could really try to be friendlier and more outgoing to customers who choose to spend money there instead of all the other choices, both on the phone when ordering, and when picking up order. Yesterday I decided that I would start holding Restaurant's "Accountable" this year. No longer will I support for half ass food and no longer will I give my very hard earned coins. First up...The Mandarin Wok Many years ago,this establishment was so good. But lately they have hit rock bottom. The food we received yesterday was awful and it showed that they don't care like the use to.My husband had about 5 shrimps in his Shrimp Fried Rice and 4 was playing hide and seek at the bottom of the box. My Shrimp and Scallops was awful and the scallops...I'm sorry what scallops? I'm the daughter of a Commercial Fisherman so I know my seafood.Now let's talk about the Chicken Wings Wow! Never mind,I will just post photos. I ended up cooking my own wings and they were delicious! After 30 minutes of waiting a woman walks in, skips everyone, and asks for her take out order. The people at the counter drop everything and get her order ahead of everyone else who had been waiting. The food is not that good. The service is terrible. I called in my order was told 15 mins get there and have to wait thirty mins(it takes me 15 minutes to get to the restaurant). Then I'm watching my food being prepared and one of the dishes I ordered went in the microwave to be reheat three different times. Called in an order today for some steamed dumplings and some other things. When I got home, I found that they gave me egg drop soup. I called them to tell them they made a mistake and they lady told me I said egg drop soup. For one I have been going there for years and never order that. She told me to bring back the soup( whoever gets that I'm sorry, I never opened it up) and make a swap. When I get there, I had to pay four more dollar. This used to be one of the best places to get Chinese food in Tipton county, but it has fallen off the past couple years. The food quality has declined a bit, but the main issue with this place is the chaos that ensues when trying to pick up or place an order inside. The employees are running around like a chicken with their head cut off and when it's busy, forget about it. You may be waiting an hour for your food when you already called it in. Your standard Chinese take out, not really for eating in, but they do have tables if you choose to do so. We did as we were getting our tires changed next door. We've been going to this great place for years. Granted it's not a big place, as far as dining in, but we always order "To Go" anyway. The food is de'LISH, never greasy and the homemade hot mustard (given upon request) is the best! The people who run it are the nicest people, including their children. One of the nicest ladys I know runs this place, everytime I have gone here I've gotten a great meal and never paid more than 18 for two people. The food is always fresh, clean, and never too salty like most Asian places. Make no mistake, this is more of a to go kinda place, but there is a few tables where you can sit down. Just want to say that the owner is the greatest. I went in a few months ago and ordered my food. Went to pay and worst thing possible could've happened. My debit card was MIA! I thought I was going to have a heart attack! After apologizing a million times she told me to enjoy my lunch and to pay next time I came in. I was so incredibly thankful and was truly overwhelmed with gratefulness! It took 2 days but my debit card was found in my home. The next afternoon I went I paid what I owed. I must of said thank you 10 times. I was having a hell of a day and this totally put my day in the right direction. So please do not take their kindness as a weakness, I have been a customer for many years and this was the only reason I was allowed to do this. The woman who runs the counter is the nicest person in a restaurant i have ever seen. I love going there as she makes the experience better. Yes their children do take up some tables but everytime i have been they are very well behaved and dont bother anyone. Matter of fact i remember seeing the little boy when he was oh so young its almost like watching them grow up.
