My Home-cooked ShrimpFried Rice and their Shrimp Fried Rice
Sonika J.

It's been a while since I've reviewed on Yelp but I'm back! This new year in the mist of COVID people losing their jobs and just mainly dealing with a new world. Yesterday I decided that I would start holding Restaurant's "Accountable" this year. No longer will I support for half ass food and no longer will I give my very hard earned coins. First up...The Mandarin Wok Many years ago, this establishment was so good. But lately they have hit rock bottom. The food we received yesterday was awful and it showed that they don't care like the use to.My husband had about 5 shrimps in his Shrimp Fried Rice and 4 was playing hide and seek at the bottom of the box. My Shrimp and Scallops was awful and the scallops...I'm sorry what scallops? I'm the daughter of a Commercial Fisherman so I know my seafood. Now let's talk about the Chicken Wings Wow! Never mind,I will just post photos. I ended up cooking my own wings and they were delicious! So,this is a Restaurant I will no longer patronize any longer, enough is enough. My Military neighbors and friends warn me yesterday how the service and food had really fallen off but I wanted to show support to a local restaurant. I should have listen.

Adequate takeout Chinese. No complaints. A nice variety of food served quickly and cooked fresh in front of you.

Fire sesame chicken. Cooked fresh so you may wait, even if ordered online. Lady at the counter is always nice.

Food is always good but be prepared to wait a while because it seems like food is not cooked until you arrive most of the time.

Okay place to order from but you have to watch out for the lady she likes to overcharge and this has happened to me a couple of times.

Whenever I order for pick up it's not ready when I get there. The sesame chicken tastes chewy and hard like the food isn't fresh.

The food is de'LISH, never greasy and the homemade hot mustard (given upon request) is the best!

Petals of a Peony is one of the best restaurants in Memphis, and I wish I had tried it sooner. I…read moremade the mistake of assuming it's just another American Chinese takeout spot. It is not. It is a Michelin recognized (i.e., fancy) authentic Szechuanese restaurant. While I can't comment on the authenticity, the flavors are deeper and bolder than any Chinese cuisine I've ever had. My brother and I fight over which is better, the boiling fish or the dry pot. Really, everything we've had has been excellent. It's possible to go affordable here with something like a fried rice dish, but I recommend being adventurous and trying something new. Every dish is sharing size and a table of two could eat their fill with one or two dishes. They get busy during peak times but they're good at turning tables and I've never had a bad wait. I'll note that the food comes out suspiciously quick, seemingly regardless of what we order it takes around 5-10 minutes, even when we brought a larger party.

FAVORITE SPICY FOOD OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE…read more I legit am in love with this place. I LOVE how the food had spice but it isn't overwhelming. It adds to the flavor without being the only thing to the food. I just wish I had more people who liked spicy food to come eat here with me. I came back with some friends from out of town and it was still amazing. My fav thing is still on the Lunar New Year Menu: the Sichuan Mala Dry Pot. It had amazing flavor, good spice, and everything in it was just awesome. I've found a similar thing on the regular menu so I won't have withdrawals except for the fact that I genuinely want to eat here every week and can't hahah To try: Mapo Tofu Appetizer: Steamed Chicken with Chili Sauce Edamame Beef Spicy Crispy Chicken Sichuan Style Fried Rice Dandan Noodles Spicy Dry Noodles Loved: - House Special Mala Xiang Guo Dry Pot - Lunar New Year: Sichuan Mala Dry Pot (ABSOLUTE FAV) - Peony Chicken Liked: - Beef and Broccoli - Fried Rice: Yangzhou Style - Lunar New Year: Homestyle Whole Fish - Lo Mein: chicken, shrimp, and extra spice - Twice Cooked Pork Ok: - Tea: Jasmine - Lunar New Year: Garlic Pork Ribs Disliked: - Lunar New Year: Four Happiness Meatball - Traditional Kung Pao Chicken
