While their techniques are very different, the result is basically the same - relief from the areas of my back, neck and shoulders that are chronically bothersome because of my job. Krys tends to be more available for short-notice appointments because Grace is also one of the chiropractors there. I have never used the third RMT or the acupuncturist but I've heard that they're both excellent. Chiropractor, John, is also excellent and everyone is very friendly. Nice facility, comparable pricing, and conveniently located, with ample free parking nearby (parkade behind, or a huge lot at the mall). It was ok with me. I was surprised when she told we are done after 15 minutes of acupuncture and 15 minutes of massage. Front desk girl pointed Janet that it was 1 hour. She said fine, give her $10 discount (for a half session, oh well) and left to treat another patient! I asked to call Janet back and told you that's not right, I am not going to agree with such a "deal". She asked if I have an insurance on file, I didn't. Janet started talking about "15 minutes cleaning ", but it wasn't said anywhere that cleaning is included in fee. Her next argument was that I stopped the treatment, I said no, I just asked to remove needles and continue with massage. Then, the doctor suggested me to go back and continue massage for half an hour, I refused. After all her tricks, she said: leave if you don't wanna pay. Such a wonderful customer service Janet! Lovely. Nevertheless, I paid half a price. Really disappointed because heard a lot of good reviews. My partner also had a good experience. Very very sad, I've been waiting for this appointment for 1 month! Janet, how could you? The saddest part is that my partner and I wanted to go to naturopath and chiropractor doctors. We are able to invest our $$$ and good attitude to the clinic. We liked its website and google reviews as we are new to the area and we follow recommendations online. Dear business owners, if you read this, look how 1 person can literally scare away 2 clients! P.S. a front desk girl is very nice :-)

Dr. Carry Leng is a licensed Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner. I went to her clinic for full body detox and acupuncture that will help increase my metabolism. I'm at a certain age were metabolism slows down. I can take some pills to help with digestion but I would rather do it with acupuncture. I don't believe in most drugs we have in the market even if they're FDA approved. I would rather do diet and exercise ( which I am doing now ) to help with weight management. Full body detox and Acupuncture are just there to help kick start my program. Steps for full body detox are as follows: 1. Drink 1 cup of saltwater. I think this is the same concept of taking saltwater flush when you want to start cleansing. 2. Full body massage. The type of massage that will make you bruise but will also make you feel like you're able to move your body without hearing your bone crackling. It will feel like your bones have been well oiled and you can move them freely. You really have to try this to understand what I mean. 3. Moving cupping. A cup is placed on top of your skin and a small vacuum like tool is applied. The suctioned cup then glides left to right, right to left on the areas to be treated. Cupping is supposed to loosen muscles and encourage bloodflow. Mine is to help with neck and back pains and stiff muscles. 4. Acupuncture. The needles used were a little bit bigger than I remember for my first treatment 2 years ago. Dr. Carry mentioned these are special needles that communicate with the kidney and heart. I felt every poke of these needles. They seem to be hitting all my nerves. It was uncomfortable at first but you get used to it. There was a heat lamp that was focused on top of my stomach. This makes the needles heat up a bit. The heat lamp and needles were taken out after 25 minutes. My description might sound scary for some but the procedure doesn't really hurt. The side effects were bruising/ tenderness on the treated area and feeling of tiredness on my right hand where more needles were poked. That's about it. If you're interested in other forms of treatment that do involved drugs then body detox and acupuncture is a must try.

My mom and brother have been going to Dr Tai and had their chronic problems fixed by him. I visited…read morehim recently due to a flu. I'm breastfeeding so I didn't want to take any medications, especially antibiotics. However, my flu was really bad: I had repetitive fevers and chills, swollen glands, and a bad headache. I saw Dr Tai and he gave me an acupuncture session, honored my request of no medication, and had his assistant massage my head. I felt so much better after the session. My headache was gone immediately though my glands were still swollen and my throat still hurt. He gave me some herbal cream to put on my neck. I was reluctant to use it so I only put it on once a day for two days (instead of four times a day), but my throat got better in two days! I never imagined acupuncture and herbs can work this fast and it's all natural :) I went back again to get seen for my knee problem that I had since delivery. Dr Tai said my knees are fine; it's my uterus that didn't heal properly causing knee pain. He gave me another acupuncture session and medication for feet soak. Again, no oral medication per my request. I asked him for food recommendations and he willingly told me and even wrote them down for me. Unlike other Chinese medicine doctors I've seen. They usually just want you to buy their herbal medicines (probably the main way they make money) instead of telling you what food you can eat on a regular basis. I was supposed to soak my feet in the medicine for 30 days, but I had to leave town, so I only did it for 5 days. My knees are perfectly fine after the 5 days though. It just works!! It's been two weeks and they haven't bothered me since. The clinic is pretty shabby, but I guess that's what happens when a doctor doesn't focus on making money, or looking high end to charge more or attract more patients. Upon my visits, I can feel Dr Tai, unlike other doctors I have seen, genuinely wants to heal me. He respects the fact I don't want to take oral medicines and tried to think of ways to help me that he can't make money of. I would definitely come back next time I'm in town to get my other chronic issues fixed!

If I could give Matt 10 stars I would! I was apprehensive of…read morePT's since my last experience wasn't great in east van. I did a lot of research this time around and landed on Matt, I wish I had found him sooner. I started seeing him this past December for a sub dislocated knee that came with a lot of compilations. I had been seeing a pt in east van since March 2017 that barely did anything for me (most of the time it was "bend your leg, now straighten it") and no workouts at all since I was on crutches until almost August/September which meant I had almost no muscle in my left leg and could barely balance properly with a knee that wouldn't straighten. Booking the appointment was fairly easy, I booked through their online site that has bios of all the staff members to choose from. However the receptionist that used to be there constantly messed up my paperwork with WCB so that caused about a 1 week delay until I was actually able to see him. I suggest if you're a WCB case to just call and book don't just use the online system. Also when doing extensions with WCB make sure they have communicated with motion physio before your next appointment, I had quite this issue in this area every single time... upon my first appointment I filled out a couple pages of paper work and then met Matt, there are private treatment rooms on the back where I got changed into shorts and he did an exam on my leg and we spoke about my injury and my previous pt ( at this point I had had 3 previous pt's and 2 surgeons) this was honestly the first time I felt someone actually understood what I was going through and knew how to actually help me, not just say that they could. Matt created a tailored routine for me to start and we modified it almost each day after based on how I was doing. I immediately saw results! He had me walking with balance in just under 3 weeks! That is something the other 2 pts could do in 7 months!! Some days I would hurt more than others and be a bit down but Matt is extremely friendly and has a genuine care for other people, he can really motivate you when you are feeling down about yourself/recovery. I have no idea how my recovery would of gone without Matt and I am sure glad I don't have to find out. I would 100% search out matt the next time I have an injury and have personally recommended him to my friends/ family. I also saw the RMT Jenn, she is fabulous! I booked a 90 minute session with her (it sucks she doesn't except WCB claims but you can always file it with the company and get the money back later). She really got to understand my body quickly and helped with pain and tightness, unfortunately my injury has really taken over and I can't lay on a bed for more than 30 minutes without my knee becoming sore so I decided momentarily to stop RMT treatment. Once my knee is in better shape I would love to continue seeing her, she is the friendliest human being on the planet! She loves when doggies come to the appointment with you and always has treats nearby ;) This physio clinic has the most amount of gym equipment I have seen so far other than in a hospital, it is very clean all the time, has private rooms and treatment beds in the open as well which makes it never feel cramped even if there is quite a few people in there at the moment, all the staff are friendly and the location has a ton of free parking with wheelchair access and no stairs.
