The stuff is disgusting (unless you make it yourself) but all too often the chef in crappy take-aways just gives variations of the same overly sweet chemical tasting rubbish. Last Saturday we popped in here after being soaked and thought a nice Chinese would cheer us up. It was too wet to walk to Rathmines so we settled for here as it was just across the road from The Morgue pub. We ordered 5 different dishes thinking we'd share and were quite rightly pissed off when we got home and realised that all the food was exactly the same with just more or less soy sauce to alter the colour. Making matters worse was a thick "gravy" that when cold set like cement. Being far too hungry I ate the rice which was good and the fried noodles which were very good, the rest we picked at but mostly went to our appreciative dog. It's not hard to do Chinese food right - simply, with lots of oil, spices and salt. Not the bucket sauces they're forcing down the throats of an unsuspecting Templeogue.

The food is clean plenty of flavour and taste and the portions are big enough to at least get your moneys worth and not just a tray of watered down sauce and veg. You can actually taste the curry in the curry sauce simple little things that most chinese take aways seem to forget to get to grips with. They have also being doing deals since they opened like when spending over a set amount 10 or so euro you get a free dish which comes in really handy when ordering extra food for more people. Now they aint with out there flaws the chicken balls aint the best haha and fried rice can sometimes be very greasey but you only tend to get this problem late at night. The delivery service is quick and staff are all friendly never any problems. So really if i ever fancy a bit of chinese in Rathcoole its always here and hopefully they will keep there standards up like most places should.

I had the goats cheese to start and it was a very generous serving. For main I had the tikka masala and it was incredible, the sauce was so smooth and rich and there was plenty of chicken in it. It's a little pricey I feel but they do an early bird 4 course for 20 euro but we couldn't get that with the voucher. One tip is don't park in the car park right next to the restaurant, it's a one hour limit, go to the one behind the shopping centre.
