L23. Honey Walnut Chicken Lunch Special
Grayson C.

They recently moved to a new location further south. The new restaurant is pretty modern, and looked clean enough. They cleared our table of the dishes that were there but didn't wipe it down. We did have to swap one of our spoons for a cleaner one when we unwrapped our silverware. The food was exactly what you'd expect from a local Chinese place. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. The honey walnut chicken that I got was good, and we did enjoy the egg rolls. The salad that comes with the lunch meal definitely comes straight from a bag, so maybe shoot for the salad. I would have liked to see more rice with the chicken, but maybe thats just the gym bro in me talking.

Happy family, without rice. Not much seafood.

A really fun dining experience! The Bo Bo Platter has a little grill upon which you can cook the little pineapple bits. The Happy Family entree is yummy. I've had some before elsewhere that tastes seafoody -- not this one. This place is highly recommended.

You have to order the Tiny Spicy chicken, and if you want to spice it up, the Bobo Platter. I've been coming for about 20 years, and the service was very good when I started, dipped a few years back but has got better as of late. The Cashew Nut Chicken is a good savory compliment to the Tiny Spicy chicken. We can get the family dinner and feed my small family. I only give it 4 stars because it is long overdue for an update, but the food is decent.

Great food. Love the Tiny Spicy Chicken! Try to avoid busy times as there is always a big line and wait. But it's usually worth it!

I had the sesame chicken and hot honey sauce was perfect and the chicken wasn't over cooked. The food was hot and delish. The ladies that served us were quick and accommodating. Nice and pleasant. I will admit the windows were dirty from parents letting they kids put their sticky hands all over them. I recommend to them to clean for better ambiance. I air wasn't on so it seemed a little stuffy but not to bad.

Let me tell you how disappointed I am. First, the service was absolutely horrible. Then came the food... and that's where things really went off the rails. He ordered the sesame chicken, and when I tell you it was dry, I mean Sahara Desert dry. I'm pretty sure the chicken was searching for its own moisture. And the fried rice? Calling it "fried rice" feels generous. It was more like burnt rice that had been through a personal crisis. Nasty, underseasoned, and somehow both dry and greasy at the same time. That takes talent. The worst part? I recommended this place. So now my father-in-law probably thinks I've been eating cardboard for the last 18 years and calling it cuisine I don't know what happened in that kitchen, but apparently the seasoning called in sick, the chicken lost all hope, and the fried rice chose violence. After 18 years of living in Utah and being a fan of this place, this experience was a serious letdown. I really hope this was just a terrible off day, because the food and service we experienced were nowhere near what I remembered

We were greeted warmly by maybe the manager who was very friendly. It was $18.49 for the Create Your Own Grill Meal, Stir Fry. This includes unlimited times to the grill. They had a great variety of proteins, noodles/rice and of course sauces. They had good signage on ideas on creating your own sauce. The food area was very well maintained, you can tell they stay on top of keeping things organized. At many of the Mongolian Grill's I have been to you can fill up your bowl only once so you fit what you can. Nice option to go back as many times as you want, although one bowl was enough for most of us. The cooks who you hand your bowl to, for them to cook are all great. They were pleasant and did a good job. The restaurant wasn't too busy but there were a couple of larger groups. Tables were all cleared off quickly by a busser who made his rounds frequently. It's a nice casual vibe with colorful Mongolian type decor. It worked well for a fun business dinner.

For this type of places, if you have allergies, I would not suggest it due to the cross contamination of the foods. Basically, people could use the same utensils to pick up meat and fish, also the veggies. It is a pretty large place with tables and booths. One thing, I think the rice was there since they were open for it was dry and hard.
