We went to another family dentistry across town (they were also exceptional in treatment of my kids, I still go there for myself) but since they caught a cavity they sent us to White & Johnson, knowing they could handle my oldest kids anxiety. I am beyond grateful to have such an amazing staff to work with my kids. The layout is efficient, the teamwork that I have witnessed during our appointments is flawless , and bedside manner is second to none- they sing songs, talk to the kids throughout cleanings to explain what they're doing and reassure them, and are completely transparent about everything upfront with parents. The only crying my anxiety-prone child did was in the wilmington office, as they tried to get the gas mask on him (he ultimately had to have his cavity taken care of at the hospital under general anesthesia) but even having gone through that, he is not at all scared of coming back. THAT is how I know they're doing everything right. While we do spend a bit more money here than we did elsewhere, but it certainly shows in the quality of care our kids receive.

When I'm there I am always asked by the dr how my husband and kids are (he even refers to them by their names, remembers what my husband does for work etc). It's nice to be somewhere you are remembered. They are all great with the kids too. Today at my daughters cleaning (she's 3), Jessica made a couple comments about how great she does, especially for being 3. I would love to give all the credit to my daughter but I honestly think that the staff has made it a fun, not scary place for her and my older children too. Not once have my kids been scared to see the dentist. We will continue to see them for as long as possible.

The first time I came, Danielle, the dental hygienist, did my cleaning and she was great! I loved her personality and she was educating me on some things about the teeth and how to read the X-ray. I had cavity that was drilled out improperly at my previous dentist and it was causing all sorts of issues for me. That was 7 years ago and I haven't seen anyone else since. I couldn't be happier with how thorough, professional, and friendly Dr. Futrell and his entire staff have been. He doesn't make you feel rushed even though you know he's very busy.
