The Hygienist was friendly and helped me relax as a stressed out patient who does not like going to the dentist. I felt they made every effort to be thorough and not rush through things while ensuring that every detail was accounted for. I've had dentists that are obviously making stuff up like an untrustworthy auto shop trying to sell you stuff you don't need. I never felt that pressure here. I already have my next appointment set up and will go in with a lot less stress knowing I will be treated with respect for my time and concerns while taking good care of my dental needs.

From the moment I stepped into this office I felt so welcomed and calm. There was no judgement on my overdue need for a cleaning and the ladies were so helpful with giving me info and recommendations for addressing some things I wanted to improve with my oral care (like hot and cold sensitivity or remineralization after pregnancy)! The office was clean, cute, and the staff were kind and professional. I was also able to get an eligibility screening complete for overseas living (hello military) and overall I had a great experience! They also take my insurance, for anyone who's unsure (Concordia, TDP)! Highly recommend and will be back in 6 months!

But, now today I receive a certified mailed letter (MIND YOU) that they are withdrawing from further care for my family's dental needs. So, my original comment will go back up and stay up and WILL NOT COME BACK DOWN AND YOU CAN SEE EVERYONE HOW THEY CAN BE. 4/29/2025 Post: Very unhappy with our services lately since Dr. Whitley has became part of their practice. He does not put the patient first. My daughter had an appt. yesterday and instead of him seeing her like we were originally scheduled after being rescheduled due to them because of spring break and they wanted off he let his secretary for billing (don't know her exact billet) see us instead and didn't even talk or speak to us after I had to jump through hoops after requesting off work the prior week and then rearranging my sons schedule so he can get my daughter and bring her to the clinic and me hurry and leave work to meet them there so I can talk with him about my daughters teeth and then he doesn't even see her or me. Very disappointing and disrespectful. Then the billing lady tells me that the part that I signed before that was $1100 for her teeth is now going to be $2000 and they wanted off to do it under the table and don't send it to the insurance company. Yeah. Okay. So, I have been going to this dental office since early 2000s and never ever got treated like this before. Believe me, me and my family will be looking for a new dental office and you and your family should be as well. Because, they are out to charge you for everything you got and not to help you at all. Believe that. Sad part is, I love the front staff. This letter informed us that our family's dental care would be withdrawn, the issue only involved my daughter and me. My two adult sons, one has different insurance, nor my other son, my husband, my innocent daughter, had anything to do with the matter. Eastern Carolina Dental, you've outdone yourselves.

I've been in and out of this place a few times within a month because they found out one of my fillings was leaking. So I know my review is pretty accurate of how patients are treated. Front desk staff are good. They can be a little more welcoming in my opinion. One day they are smiling, the next -- not so much. So it's a hit or Miss for them. They're still great ladies! The first time I came, Danielle, the dental hygienist, did my cleaning and she was great! I loved her personality and she was educating me on some things about the teeth and how to read the X-ray. She even sent me a welcome card to my home and thanked me for trusting them with my care. That's the best gesture I ever received from any healthcare office!! I made sure my next cleaning is with her. That's how much I like her! Dr. Kim Morgan is my dentist and she is so kind and very knowledgeable. She explains everything that she does. When she re-did my filling, she made sure I was okays throughout the whole process. She shares her knowledge with me to make sure I have a better understanding of what's going on. She truly rocks! Kelli, the dental assistant is very sweet. She talks to me as well about life and/or dental things. She's very personable and she makes me very comfortable. This office is filled with an amazing staff and I am so glad I came here!!

I've seen multiple doctors for various issues and they've all been stellar. All the people in that office do the best job they can for everyone that walks in. Dr Tommy argued with me once, years ago, that something wrong with a crown must have been his fault because it's a metal crown and it would take Superman to chip a piece off it. I told him I was a Marine so it's probably my fault. He agreed, but replaced the crown anyway, which is still in tip top shape 12 years later, at no added expense. They take pride in their work. If you need a dentist for you or your family and you don't know what to choose, I'd bet a shiny nickel this place will suit your needs and then some.

Got seen and did my X-rays got sat in the chair and seen the dentist. I was there to get my bottom dentures started. First off he comes in and ask if I want to pull my bottom teeth, I said yes pull them all I'd like to just finish what I started, then he proceeded to ask if I had top dentures.... At this point I'm confused so I move on. He told me we would need to get my insurance approval perfect great fine with that. Don't really have a choice, next He goes off and says let's just do the surgery pull all the bottom teeth then heal up then submit the request to approve my dentures. I said absolutely not. Get approved then do the extractions around the time the temporary dentures would be in so I had them to wear. So I could heal and eat. After that he agreed to do that but we would need to do a mold of my bottom teeth. So we go ahead and do so, in the process he brings this liquid mold half way down the hall to the room I was in proceeded to make the worst mess all over my face shirt and pants. I ask if there was anything I could use to clean up the mess he told me no that I needed to use what I could see and not dig through anything. No water to rinse my mouth nothing. After all that I go to talk about process and what it looked like because I know all places are different, receptionist and dentist both said they would numb my bottom jaw and do full extraction while awake. I said HELL NO. absolutely not. You are extracting my entire bottom jaw, wisdom teeth that are impacted coming in sideways and you wanna just "numb my jaw" while fully awake while you yank out everything. Nooooo. The dentist got all rude and started to refuse me a referral to an oral surgeon. I left. That was the worst customer service and dentist I've ever been too. Thankfully I have a few people I know who are dentist and they said oral surgery like I would need for my teeth being numb is extremely dangerous and no recommendation at all for the course of action. I will never be going here again.

I feel completely misled and abandoned. I went against my better judgment and did not listen to others who've told me about their deeply unsatisfactory experiences. I went back in the following week for a 'post op' appt and the Dentist who did the extraction said there is an area of bone that 'per X-rays they did at the post-op' is still connected to my jawline or something. She MENTIONED the option for them to go in again and 'remove it' but I opted to wait another week or so and then have a follow up because I couldn't take more time off work. Well, that 'follow up' was supposed to be a phone call appt- which did not happen. I tried calling them twice that week and left voicemails both times which to this day went un-acknowledged. I had an appt for this coming Monday so I chose to just wait until that appt- but was notified today they have to 'reschedule'. I called them per the text message and left a voicemail around approx 11:19am today but it is 1745 and I did. Not get a call back. They are closed until Monday. Also the extraction site in my mouth is still not fully healed a whole month later, They quoted me approx 9000.00 in dental work (after insurance) I 'need done' and I was GOING TO schedule those appointments after my follow up this Monday. But now? Probably not. I don't know if I need antibiotics still because the extraction site is not fully healed/ closed or what, Can't get a call back. May see how next week goes then look into other options for proceeding.
