Lucky for this damsel in distress, a place called Shur-Way Auto Body exists to restore peace and goodness to the chaos this evil human being brought upon her world. So, in short... I had a hit and run. A car scratched my barely 6-month old 2019 Subaru Forester and I was devastated. I decided not to go through my insurance and the excellent reviews led me here. I walked in on a Monday (incident was on a Saturday night) around 9:30am but the guy who does their estimates was busy with another client. The lady at the front desk asked if I could come back in 30-45 minutes but as I was pressed for time and missed making an appointment, I asked her if there was an opening later that day at 3:30pm. She booked me and I came back later for my estimate. I was running a bit late due to traffic but they were very understanding (I called on my way). I got in around 3:37pm and Mike S walked out to my car to assess the damage. He gave me an estimate of $644.81 and said they needed 3 days to restore my damaged bumper as they would have to remove it, fix the damage, paint and make sure it's all the way dry. I told him I didn't have 3 days and he said they could do it in 2 but no less than that. I didn't even have to tell him the color, he knew from looking at my car that I have a pearl white paint on my Subaru. It's not a common white color which was my biggest concern but he assured me they can match it without a problem. The price sounded reasonable and I was set to get it fixed as the damage was slowly eating at my soul anyway so I made an appointment with them. They are pretty busy but I was able to book an appointment a week after my initial consultation. As I did not want to mess with insurance, I was able to decide right then and there that I wanted my car fixed by them. I did notice during our walk-through that the person who hit my car left a scuff on the passenger tail light as well. I pointed this out to Mike and he came out once more and confirmed then added a note to buff out the damage. He did not say it would cost me more but I had anticipated it would in the back of my mind. In the end, they didn't charge me for it and the scuff is gone! The day came for them to fix it. I dropped off my car at 8am without any issues and the next day, I got a call around 2:30pm that my car is ready. My bumper looks like no evil has befallen upon it and my spirits were lifted. During my check out, the lady explained that they stand by their work and gave me my warranty paper, instructions on how to care for my car in the next 2 months, receipt, and a reminder sticker that in February, I should bring my car back for a wash and wax. After leaving the place, I noticed they even vacuumed my car! Such a lovely gesture!!! They charged me the exact initial estimate I had gotten which was what I was already expecting. So far, I am happy with the work that they did. My SUV looks good as new again and I no longer have to stare at that ugly reminder that humans are horrible. As far as the shop goes, it's well-kept with friendly staff and a wonderful dog! If you or anyone you know are ever in need of an auto repair service, I highly recommend you try this place out. During this time, I was calling the office multiple times across the weeks asking for an update due to the promised finished timelines from the staff. Almost every time it kept getting pushed back, one moment it was at this percentage complete another was that the work hasn't even been started yet. I wouldn't have had an issue with the duration if they were realistic about the timeline. I was optimistic at first that it would be finished in the 2-weeks as my rental reimbursement funds from my insurance company would be enough for two weeks. Time kept ticking and I got concerned that I would have to come out of pocket for an extended rental. Fast forward, after an additional 2 weeks I can pick up my car, I get back home and I see scratches on parts of the vehicles that weren't apart of the hail damage. (Almost as if it was dragged on the ground :) ) The seal on one of my head lights were smashed under the lamp. My car had to go back for repair for an additional two days and even still where they made the repair the paint is still missing. Since then, I've found other odd things like the plastic backend of the roof lip is not as secure as the other side and weird marks on my roof rails. I don't have the energy to bring my car back and not knowing when I would get it back. On the many trips to the office, I ran into other individuals who were also bringing their cars back for repairs after they were originally fixed. Some of them on their 3rd or 4th round. The pictures they gave of my car pre PDR did not show the preexisting damage. Pros: They did offer a 10% discount for the total cost of my service. They offered me a ride back home after every time I had to drop my car off. This is a plus for sure and shows good customer service. The staff appeared nice, but I felt gaslighted when I reported the additional problems that weren't there previously. Cons: It took too long in my opinion, and I did not like that the date kept getting moved. The 10% I saved went towards car transportation expenses. I did not like that my car had additional issues that were not present when I dropped it off. Would I recommend them, no. Will I go back, no. I don't know if they will treat my car well and I didn't like the staff member with the blonde short cut, he gaslit me about these scratches telling me these marks were from a soft, bristled brush. My car was not perfect, but it is not in the same state it was before it was dissembled. Lastly, my husband also got his car repaired here for hail damages and he also has a loose panel on the left back end of his camaro that is NOT secure, but the right side is fine. Mind you these are pieces that did not have any hail damage work done to them. I've attached two videos of both of our cars with the same goofy attachment issue. During our many times at the office we separately ran into different customers who've had to take their car back multiple times btw. 2 stars since the hail damage is repaired.

My son got a quote from owner Ken who was professional. The quote was difficult for my son to receive with paying half since we are cash pay. I called Ken to discuss the estimate and he was able to make a few tweaks that lowered the price and improved the part to an OEM. WOW! Not expected. I scheduled the repairs. Since I live out of town I arranged for a time I was visiting. My son dropped off and repairs were completed under the estimated three days. But a snag in the lights caused a delay. It was not there problem. They went well beyond to fix the issue and eventually did with only a small delay. Ken bent over backwards to ensure it was working correctly. Delivery of the car was easy. Ken explained the process he used to repair the car showing us the old bumper. He also explained the difficulty with the electrical that was resolved with great pain and add cost he did not transfer to us. Double WOW!!! The cost came in even a bit less than the revised quote some how, The shop may not look like much from the front, but it's quite large. It once was a building used to perform maintenance on city buses. Let's be clear on typical body shops, they can take advantage of you. Dealers charge premium on labor.
