Sorry but it's a long but worthwhile review. I really don't like giving bad reviews since it can…read morereally affect a business. But I felt I needed to in this case. I called Anytime Handyman to come out and replace 2 damaged doors and install 2 new doors. I sent a text message to let Tyler letting him know my lock box number since it's a rental and no one will be there to let him in. I gave explicit instructions as to which doors needed to replaced. (it was obvious because of the visible damages). He sent me the estimate, I agreed and paid for the doors so he could order it. They went back to the rental, and installed the new doors as planned. Here's the prolblem, they took off the wrong door (not damaged) and put the new door on. Leaving the damaged door still damaged. That's not the end of it, the latch was not installed properly, it had a hole and crack. As for the other door that they installed, there was also a problem, the strike plate and latch were off centered and wasn't closing properly. I called Tyler to tell him the wrong door was removed and replaced, and sent him a snap shot of the text I sent him when he went out for the estimate, explaining which doors needed to be replaced. His answer was, that's not how he interpreted it. Everything seemed to be wrong with the job. From the wrong door being replaced, to the damages to the door and the other door's latch not closing properly. He said not to worry and it's normal it's not a problem, just let him do his job. Now I'm no handyman but I do know how to install a lockset, and I've never seen a hole of that size, nor did I ever see a strike plate and latch installed at an angle. In Tyler's defense, he did say if I'm not happy he would give me a new door. But at this point, my trust with their quality of work has diminished. Not even a new door would make me continue to do business with them. I will take that loss, and stop all remaining repairs with this company. Update: I read the business owner's responses to my review. First of all, the "so called Painter's" was my daughter and son in law who came over the weekend to help paint the doors, only to find the damaged doors and discrepancies on the other door as well, including the wrong door that was removed. I would have no reason to damage these doors that I had already paid in Full upon completion on Weds. Lastly, it speaks volumes when a business owner would illegally break a homeowner's right of privacy and send photos to anyone requesting it, without prior authorization. I stand by my review.

The pricing was fair, the service was friendly, and they were very customer- and mission-oriented from start to finish. It's hard to find people who take pride in their work these days, but Ortiz Irrigation and Landscaping definitely does. Great workmanship, fair pricing, friendly service, and a strong commitment to taking care of the customer. I highly recommend them to anyone needing irrigation or landscaping work. I'll definitely use them again for all future Sprinkler, Irrigation and landscaping services.

We didn't want a "Me Too" spray-on cool-deck with plastic dec-o-drains like everyone else. We wanted something really special and finally decided on a Turkish Travertine deck. We quickly found out there is very little travertine expertise in the Austin area. We feel very lucky that we were able to find TJ because as you can see in the pictures he is a true artist! He did all of everything you see except the pool shell and pump equipment. He did all the base-work, concrete, coping and laid over 1000ft of "Autumn" travertine stone in a Versailles pattern. He also engineered the awesome drain systems in the concrete to work with the slotted travertine drain tiles. No plastic deck-o drains here! We couldn't be more happy with the results. We get raving compliments from all our friends and everyone that sees it. The guy with the pool company that came to turn-up the pool and give us pool school said "I absolutely love your deck! I turn up over 300 pools a year and this is my hands down favorite!" Now that's quite a compliment TJ! TJ was a really great guy to work with on this project. He takes great pride in his workmanship and doesn't cut corners. His prices are very reasonable and we are so happy with everything he did for us. Anyone needing any kind of stone work should definitely contact TJ. Check out the photos of his work on his website and you'll see why we chose TJ.

When the serviceman from 1st Choice Central Texas left, I texted him and asked him to come back as…read morethe photos I took up inside the fireplace showed it was not clean. He said it was just soot and someone from the office would contact me to reschedule because he would not be returning. After waiting all afternoon, I texted a 2nd number the company had contacted me from and said I had safety concerns about our fireplace not being clean, but I received no response. I sent another text next day with no response. I contacted them several times through our Yelp messaging over the next couple of days, stating safety concerns and not being able to use the fireplace until we spoke with them, contacted them through their website form, and also left two courteous voicemail messages for their office letting them know we had safety concerns and asked for assistance. I had zero response to all of my efforts. I emailed and let them know I would be filing a complaint with the BBB and still received no response. I hired another company to come clean the fireplace and not only did he clean out a massive amount of soot and creosote left behind, he was stunned to find that the prior serviceman left his plastic brush and pole stuck up in the chimney. He gave it to me and I identified it as the brush the 1st Choice serviceman was using, as it was distinctive and particularly flimsy, which I noticed at the beginning of the clean. Things happen and if he had explained that his pole broke off and that he would have to come back with tools to get it out and finish cleaning, we could have moved forward. The basis for liability under negligence stems from an individual's failures to behave with the level of care that someone of ordinary prudence would have exercised under the same circumstances. He knowingly put our home and our personal safety at risk with a smoke and fire hazard, and that is egregious. It took months to settle our claim with our credit card company and get our money back. I've had time to consider my review and to post the facts without heightened emotion. Not cleaning the fireplace well and not returning calls for assistance is enough for a bad review but purposeful negligence is grounds for not being allowed to do business in this industry. The business office of this company has no excuse for failure to respond.
