Oh.....My.....GOD!…read more This is heaven! I've found a place where I would visit daily if I could!! Although I'm trying to lose weight so finding this little gem wont do wonders on my waist line :S Anyway, this place is at the top of the high street heading towards the subway (to get to college), it's on Westgate - I THINK a place called Destiny used to be there. Shakesville only opened in July 2011 and I only just found it last week. I've been in 3 times since. Shakesville is basically a milkshake place with a twist! They have LOADS of different chocolate bars to choose from and they are open to suggestions too. You choose the chocolate you want, and then they whizz it around with a tiny bit of milk and a load of whippy icecream and there you go :) It's lovely and thick but not too thick that you can't drink it. It's not watery either. It's £2.99 (roughly) for a large and about £2.49 (I think) for a regular. You can also ADD an extra chocolate for just 60p, so you can mix with a different one or add the same one for a stronger flavour. So far my husband and I have had the Munchies (YUM), Daim Bar (Extra Yum), Double Decker (Wowie!) and the ultimate favourite of mine - Ferrero Rocher (....faint.....). We got my son one yesterday (nearly 5yrs old) and he had the regular and he was unable to finish it. He had the cadburys dairy caramel one and he loved it! Probably going to go and try another one later on today after college :D My husband and I are on a mission to try every single one! They also do fruit ones too and they have flavoured icecream there - although I'm not sure if they mix that to make shakes or if it's for cones only....haven't asked :S Off to dream about shakesville ;)

Charlotte's real jersey icecream parlour…read more As soon as I heard about this place I thought as an icecream lover it would be rude not to visit when I was in the area so straight in the car and off we went into the beautiful West Yorkshire countryside near Dewsbury to grab some yummy icecream. I thought the setting was wonderful it was possible to see for miles around. I was pleasently surprised how much this place had to offer as if all that icecream and cakes wasn't enough for you there is also animals which includes donkeys, rabbits, goats, geese, and of course cows and a playground and mini golf. Yes there is mini golf with the most amazing views of West Yorkshire The icecream was simply delicious I have to admit it was difficult to decide from all the yummy flavours 24 in total lucky that it is possible to have scoops of different ones together in one tub. Also they sell large tubs to take away and store in your freezer. It is possible to eat inside the cafe or the is seating outside which is lovely on a nice day. We went on a saturday afternoon and it was busy this little spot seems very popular. Parking was free I suggest visiting the website for a map and details of how to find the place.

Anyway, what to expect from Druckers, well I guess it's Starbucks in reverse, unlike Starbucks where you go in for a coffee and pick up a slice of cake or a sandwich if you're in the mood, you go in to Druckers for cake/dessert/sweet things, and possibly pick up a coffee or tea as an afterthought. Down to the nitty gritty. The large celebration cakes - TO DIE FOR! They look and smell and taste like gorgeous pieces of heaven made from frosting and yanno other stuff that's in cake. If you've got a boy's birthday coming up then they do a totally blue one, as a fan of blue e-numbers I find this very exciting. There's more than blue cakes to choose from, be it framboise, to gateaux, wedding cakes, and a whole selection of cakes that look divine with unpronounceable names. A definite for special occasion cakes, and something to think about for an alternative coffee and cake experience.

Well in the White Rose you have various places to hit but I'm thinking those famous words...a little bit of cake. And this is the place to do cake. Forget the savoury snacks. That's what I say and for now my word goes. Nothing wrong with said food but when you have such belting tarts, muffins and cakes on show it'd be rude not to. Give me a Danish Pastry and I want one now. If you're feeling really naughty you can even mix and match with some ice cream, cookies or various sweet delights. It's a sugar junkies dream. It's also a dieters nightmare. Everything in moderation, so one small teeny weenie nibble can't hurt can it? Yummy.
