Theres just something about it, some secret ingredient, that makes their doughnuts irresistible. It's a bit like Hienz ketchup, that kind of thing. There's just no imitating it. Donut Dreams do actually sell the kind of doughnuts you are likely to dream about. They're all so brightly coloured with different colourful toppings, as if they've been lifted straight from Homer. No, not the ancient Greek writer, but the character from The Simpsons. This maybe makes it a better place to treat kinds to a doughnut than is Krispy Kremes. The taste though, whilst not bad, just cannot compete. They have a slightly bready texture that Krispy Kremes manage to avoid, and with one five minutes down the road, Donut Dreams will have to accept three stars.

The beef cheek was unctuous, and the vegetable accompaniment has lovely notes of cinnamon and juniper in the slaw portion. The hunters stew was filling but not heavy, and well seasoned. The oscypek cheese starter is similar to halloumi, with a firm, salty chew that gets your tastebuds going. The beer selection covers the gamut of Polish beers, from light lagers to raisin-y bocks (Koźlak). There's a wide range of vodka cocktails we did not try, plus ciders and wines. And the truly house made desserts are worth saving room for. I usually pass on dessert, but the cheesecake (not sweet) and poppyseed cake were too much to resist -- and I'm glad we didn't. So filling we brought half back home. The staff was friendly, and our waitress was charming and helpful, and even helped me understand the variations of the gołabki cabbage rolls that my grandmother had called galumpkies. It is a small unit, they do have a small seating range, the store did feel to have a lack of room to the point where if it was busy, you might even have to wait outside, on a nice day there is room for outdoor seating which would be a good idea when the UK government guidelines allow it. I ordered a large iced vanilla latte, it was a little expensive at £3.50, this would have cost more than going to many of my regular favourite coffee shops including Black Sheep Coffee, Joe and the Juice and Starbucks, sadly none of which seem to have branches in Bury. My coffee was overfilled which meant it was hard to put the straw in without all the drink gushing out, the lid also seemed poor quality so didn't help with that. I had to stir my drink as all the syrup was at the bottom, but the coffee was pretty bad quality, it tasted slightly watery and lacked freshness. The store looked good (despite the fact it could easily appear cramped with only a few people), and is a nice brand to have in Bury, but with overpriced coffee at mediocre quality, it isn't somewhere I'd want to return. 2* Review #3400

I actually only tried a Krispy Kreme donut for the first time around 4 months ago, this is about the time that they secured a franchise deal with Tesco, around a month prior to Britain's obesity levels steadily beginning to increase. But who can deny them? I mean they are the best donuts available to mankind! What a great idea, get a load of high sugar donuts, add some inventive flavours, then pump them full of cream! But beware, these things are pricey,, and they encourage you to buy them by the dozen to save money! Which I'd happily do if I had money to waste on 12 donuts.Tthis shop is a little box set aside from the shops were you can go and get coffee and a donut for your walk around Cheshire Oaks. they have a range of Krispy Kreme donuts that can be bought individually or in multipacks!
