Yum Yum - Looking out on Brewery Wharf

The deli section sells a full menu of sandwiches, soups, cakes and a delicious selection of hot specials. I had a very tasty red Thai curry with jasmine rice just recently. There is a seating area both inside and outdoors to eat at. They serve a lifesaving full English breakfast at a reasonable price, and can be responsible for reactivating your brain, following a night out. The other side of Yum Yum is a convenience store, selling fresh fruit and vegetables, pastries, tinned goods, various snacks and a range of wines and beers. They are significantly overpriced, but that is the cost of convenience. I also think their nearby rival Simpsons stock a far better range of products. All in all, it is a useful place to have around, but there are superior alternatives in the area.

The saviour of so many lunchtimes has been Yum's. They never fail to have something interesting on offer. There are usually several hot options such as pasta bake, burritos and a roast pork baguettes and a couple of really good sandwich specials. Highlights for me have included pulled pork with salad and chipotle mayo and ham, smoked cheese and onion marmalade both on sourdough baguettes. The footling hotdog was also a touch. You can also have your own sandwich made, they have loads of filling options and the cakes look awesome- its like subway if subway sold proper food! They do a large range of American sweets and drinks although every other shop in Leeds seems to offer these now. Yum's also have a massive selection of beers and I believe they open for dinner in the evenings doing pizza etc, if I lived at brewery wharf I wouldn't need to go anywhere else! They are a little expensive when you consider a meal deal at Sainsbury's is three quid but what you get is vastly superior. One of their daily special sandwiches and a can of coke will set you back about a fiver which is pretty good as you'll get something really tasty you will actually enjoy!

We had been adventuring all day and we ended up arriving in time to get a food order in with the kitchen before they switched over to drinks only. We ordered the Italian Mojito, Antipasti with Prosciutto Cotto and Scamorza Affumicate, the Nonna's Meatballs, Porchetta Crostone, and Sicilian Paccheri. The mojito was delicious and had a limoncello foam on it. Very refreshing. The antipasti was truly the highlight of the meal. The meat and cheese was delicious and the bread and onion chutney was perfect with them. If we visit again we would definitely would do more of the antipasti. The Nonna's meatballs were served in a bread bowl. These were ok, but didn't blow us away. However, the bread bowl was perfect for getting extra sauce from the other dishes. The Porchetta Crostone was a highlight of the meal. Very flavorful, the bread was crispy and it was a good mix of sweet and salty. This would be something we'd order again as well. The Sicilian Paccheri was a pistachio pesto pasta and was cooked al dente and was a very tasty pasta: they were generous with the sauce too so we dipped the bread from the Nonna's meatballs in the sauce as well. It wasn't too busy while we were there and we were amongst the last customers there for the evening. The staff was friendly and they were able to bring out our food pretty quickly. The restaurant would be good for date nights, meet ups and small or large groups. While we were there a group of about ten was wrapping up and seemed to have an amazing time as well.

I generally am not impressed by Italian restaurants, but this one certainly gained my respect. I had picked this one because I had not heard of pistachio as the base for pasta sauce before. The combination turned out splendid and the pasta itself was cooked the perfect amount of time. I liked that the dish was topped with whole shrimp and the meat was not tough. The wording on the plate was funny too. ----- Crab & Seabass Ink Ravioli: fresh squid ink ravioli filled with seabass & crab meat, in a slow cooked tasty Mediterranean octopus ragu (£18.95). ----- Make sure to book a table. We had a change of plans and suddenly stopped by Friday evening at 6 PM. The place was absolutely packed with both indoor and outdoor seats filled. Fortunately a couple of bar seats were still available, and so we sat in the back next to a deli selling certain items. A 10% service charge is automatically added onto the bill. Most of the facilities you'd expect from a supermarket of this size are available, including butchers, bakers, fishmongers, deli counter, and so on. The branch is large enough to house a certain amount of home ware and some clothing as well as a section for magazines, books, DVDs and games. Perhaps because of the slightly strange shape of the store, the alcohol section is accessed separately with its own entrance and set of checkouts. I suspect this probably makes things slightly more efficient. Staff are generally helpful and friendly, although the store is well enough laid out that I haven't often needed help to find things. The only thing the store is really lacking is a cafe, but given that it's located in the city centre and within a shopping centre this isn't really much of a loss.

They stock the Toad in the hole for £1.99 which I have found hard to source down. It follows the traditional Morrisons layout As far as I am aware it does not have a cafe. Although, my review can not be very detailed as I have not had a proper look round and done my weekly shop round the store, obviously with frozen goods being defrosted by Manchester and who would want to carry goods, around Leeds, then to the train station, then to Manchester and then to get home? This branch seemed to me smaller than some of my local branches but still it is funny as i had a better range. From what I seen, this is quite a nice Morrisons store however it does have quite a few disadvantages - Located inside a shopping centre, so you can't just park and run in for a weekly shop, it is more of a store for a top up shop while in the city centre. - It did not have a cafe, please correct me if I'm wrong but it just didn't have a cafe. To be fair, Morrisons cafes are extremely poor and do not cater for gluten free but still I like them being their to collect a drink, however to be fair, with it being located in a city centre it isn't really needed but still it could be a good idea to have a drinks machine at least. I would of gave 3 stars if it had easy parking and wasn't in a shopping centre, however when you consider this, I feel 2 is alot more fairer.
