I sat for a while twiddling my thumbs, wishing I had a bottle of wine rather than one glass, wondering if I should just respectfully eat it and deal with the stomach ache that would potentially follow, or if I should continue my role as the obnoxious American and send it back. Due to my immense fear of vomit I opted for the latter. When I asked if it had meat, the food runner sort of chuckled. Date wasn't sold on the place but I liked the central location for people watching. So she obliged and we sat down inside. Nice ambience. The folks around us had mouthwatering burgers and fries delivered to their tables. But we ordered the fresh fish of the day, torsk- aka- cod- and it was beautiful. The hollandaise sauce for the cod was spot on and the vegetables were fresh. Does New Nordic cuisine justice. My date rated this as the best meal of our trip in Denmark. We also had the fish soup which was art for the eyes. Dappled with green oil and delicate salmonl. Yummy. Good eating. We enjoyed the wine selection. The beer taps were offline so I couldn't enjoy my usual pint with dinner.
