Il locale deve il nome ad una vera e propria grotta risalente alla Roma Imperiale che, grazie ad un accurato restyling, ospita oggi quella che può essere definita la sala più "accattivante" del grande ristorante: tavoli unicamente per due persone e luci soffuse per cene a lume di candela. Il menù è un viaggio nella cucina tradizionale nostrana, di carne (con copiose grigliate e non solo), di pesce e con pizze cotte rigorosamente a legna. Once you sit, complementary on the house they give you a basket full of a wide variety of fresh and delicious cold cuts that you can cut at your own pleasure. Their "house appetizer" made with fresh fried vegetable, meatballs and bruschetta is delicious too! They have an amazing fire wood grill on which they grill all sorts of meats and fish! Ask the waiters for the day specials since they are usually really good and tempting. This restaurant has been family run for over 5 generations now, and the king of Italy used to stop here to eat on his way out of town. Definitely worth going if you are looking for a real roman culinary experience!
