This is my birthday in December of 2022
Kiyana M.

They food is so good chef's kiss my fav is the chicken breast with the rice and beans with Maduros and the fudge dessert . The ambience is awesome and the service is good they are attentive. The only thing is I was looking to celebrate my birthday this year on December 24 at this location but was told they are closed that day .

Man oh man! Never will I go to this restaurant again. My first time here was my last time! The first turn off was the water bug that ran out the store under my table Upon arrival there was approximately 10 people dining outside. The entire restaurant was empty. I had to ask where's the people?! The waiter said it was a slow night (I believed him, it was a late night Tuesday). After ordering I was intrigued with the location. It's close to the river. We received our appetizers they were good. Then I received my entree (Red Snapper), I believe my pressure automatically went up. It was wayyyyy too salty! I opted with ordering another appetizer and called it a night. My mate ordered the oxtails, he said they were good but. I also forgot to mention while awaiting my order, I decided to go on YELP to check reviews. Mann I wish I would've check before walking in the door! ONE STAR. Sooo, enter at your own risk!

I have been to a few of the other locations, so I was looking forward to this visit. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted by Leaha, and she was great. I sat and started with the limitless brunch, and the food on the buffet was good, and the sangria was ok. I was served by Yuri and Anthony, and they were great. I ordered the octopus for appetizers, and it was delicious! I then had the stuffed red snapper, and it was good but a little sweet! Lastly, I had the brownie dessert, and that was delicious! All in all I had a good experience!

Mofonguitos and chicken and beef sewers

Every time I come to this restaurant the food and service hits for me all the time! I'm always welcomed and greeted at the door down to how spectacular the food tastes! This time we order the chicken and beef sewers and the mofoguitos. Let me tell you boy oh boy they was delicious. The pork one was the best! Our entrees hit even better! I couldn't even finish it all! A must try entree is the CHIVO GUISADO and Dominican fried rice. It was all chefs kiss just amazing! Thanks for all the great food especially on NYE!

The food has excellent favor. The ambience is cool, you can have brunch here or even have a nice party scene depending the time you come.

Their version of fried chicken. It lacked flavor and was such an epic waste of time and money.

What a massive disappointment! The parking lot is riddled with trash and the garbage can outside is filled with more trash. This should've been my sign to keep driving. But no, we stopped and went inside. The inside of the restaurant was empty with the exception of the 5 employees I saw taking pictures of drinks with their cell phones. The food was just terrible. It lack flavor, seemed old and stale. Would never recommend this place but would recommend to drive right past it and go somewhere else. Saving the best for last. For a table for two they add a 15% gratuity.

I decided to go here after coming here a few years ago for Brunch. The brunch was buffet style and tasty with a variety of items. The dinner was good but it was really quiet for a Saturday night. The place is a decent size, clean bathrooms and service was good. . I really enjoyed the drinks and I guess too much I never stopped to take pics :-). Check them out if your ever in Washington Heights

How much is hookah?

I didn't try the hookah. Sorry

Is there actually hookah during brunch? I've seen some pictures and videos and different responses each time

I've only seen them at night.

Do they have hookah during brunch?

Yes I think so. I had it before.

Is there a dance floor?

Hey, not really. When people want to dance, they go to a specific side of the restaurant where there is barely any tables. However, I believe they remove some tables at night.

Do you have to be 18+ to order hookah?

As per NYC Law, you must be 21 years old or over to consume hookah.

On a Saturday what time is under 21 not allowed anymore? & do they have hookah?

They definitely have hookah but I'm not sure about 21 and over. I have gone on a week night and seen toddlers there passed 11pm. I would give them a call and inquire. Hope this helps!

Do you need to be 21 or old to go for brunch and do you need an ID to get in?

ID is required for purchase of alcoholic beverages and for entry after 12 midnight once kitchen is closed only

Walked into Margon Restaurant in Midtown and instantly felt like I found one of NYC's secret cheat codes. Small space, big flavors, zero nonsense. The kind of place where you're elbow-to-elbow with strangers but everyone's united by one thing... serious hunger. Ordered the Cuban sandwich -- pressed, crispy, loaded with roast pork, glazed ham, Swiss, pickles, and mustard. One bite in and I stopped talking... which never happens. This thing didn't just deliver... it showed up early and over-prepared. Then came La Bandera Dominicana Braised beef swimming in savory gravy, yellow rice piled like a mountain, black beans doing their thing, and sweet maduros sitting on top like the victory flag. Simple. Comforting. Dangerous... because now I want it every week. Place gets busy, gets loud, gets chaotic... but it moves like a well-oiled machine. Years of experience and zero attitude. Just good people making great food. In a neighborhood full of tourist traps, this hole-in-the-wall is throwing haymakers. Sometimes the best escape in NYC isn't a rooftop... It's a Cuban sandwich and a plastic tray. And honestly... I'd pick that every time. #nycfood #hiddennyc #midtowneats

There were lots of choices available - we chose the fried chicken chunks and the Cuban sandwich. Wagner was great a wonderful personality and he made sure everything was to our liking checking on us periodically. I have been here before (the first time we did assorted appetizers) so but this time I dove into the dinner menu. The oxtail pasta was absolutely lovely, the meat was tender and delicately seasoned. I had the steak (I prefer my steak more on the well side) and the chef managed to keep it positively tender and juicy. Perched on top of a few slices of fried casava slices and a small side salad. You can never leave without trying the flan it's one of the best I have ever had. Service was quick and food was bought to us piping hot. The only down side is they oddly don't make pina coladas (it's the only thing I drink) and the restaurant was a bit too cold but other than that it was a lovely birthday dinner for my friend. Buena Vista is small and popular so I strongly suggest you make reservations if you plan on eating here.

Short on time, with just 40 minutes to dine, we thought we'd be wise to limit ourselves to starters and drinks. Greedily, though, we asked our server Carlos if he thought we had enough time for entrees. He said let's try! Trusting his wisdom and his consultation with the kitchen, we ordered the beet salad plus the langostino ravioli and the Chilean sea bass. To drink we had a strawberry martini and the guava and basil margarita. Every morsel was delectable. All of the dishes were colorful and interesting and robust with complex flavors and textures. The fish was cooked perfectly, light on the tongue. My daughter did ask for an adjustment to her drink upon first sip, and they accommodated graciously. We enjoyed our meals at an easy pace, got the check while finishing our drinks, paid via QR code, and made it to the show with 15 minutes to spare, satiated and satisfied. Regrettably, we didnt have time for dessert. So, good reason to go back SOON.
