I made a reservation for our first evening, because we were blown away by your menu (and we both love cauliflower!). As we entered the restaurant, we felt at home immediately: the overall concept, the interior, the open kitchen, the long bar counter, the friendly staff and last but not least the familiar atmosphere gave us a very special feeling from the very first second. After the excellent dinner, we went over to your bar, where we stayed for hours and enjoyed the best espresso martini in town. We enjoyed the evening with you so much that we definitely wanted to come back. On our last evening in Paris, we visited you again.

This is a special occasion kind of place. The price tag is pretty dang high, but it is fun to do once and be able to say you've been to a Michelin star restaurant. The restaurant is on a side street not far from the arc de Triomphe. You can wander around the arc and grab some wine at one of the neighboring restaurants. This is what we did as we had the first reservation of the night and got there before they opened. The staff was so nice and open to explaining everything (even to us Americans, aka me, who was asking too many questions). The Sommelier was such a cool dude- he gives off UFC fighter vibes and then starts talking and is the nicest man ever! He walked us through all the wine choices and explained the different flavors and what he thought would pair best for our meal (even asked what price point we are comfortable in, which I thought was very kind). The food came out quickly! I really enjoyed all the appetizers and the palate cleansers were divine! Now I normally am not one to eat any seafood... I don't like the fishy smell or the slimey texture. That being said- this seafood was prepared like nothing I have encountered! It was so delicious (once I got over my mental block of it being seafood lol). Octopus freaks me out with the suction cup looking things but they cooked it to be not slimey, full of flavorful, and had no little cups on mine! While it is not food I would normally eat, or probably get to experience again, it was truly enjoyable and so full of flavor. Take it with a grain of salt, as I am not a professional food reviewer (though I'd love to be!)... I thought all the dishes were well prepared and plated beautifully!

The most accurate description of consummate success is not resting on the laurels showered upon you. Yearning for growth and development, once your skills have been acknowledged, is very difficult. Yet, Chef Indra has traveled the world during his success, learning culinary techniques in South America, Asia, and beyond. This last visit to La Condesa in Spring of 2022 was amazing, our meal in two or three star status, if that's an apropos measure of cooking talent. Showmanship is useless if the food doesn't resonate with taste sensations that are mind boggling, but La Condesa now creates a dining experience on par with our meals at Arzak in Bilbao, and AM in Marseille, two of our most transcendent meals. To describe each dish would be unfair to enjoying La Condesa. While there are shrines to cooking majesty in Paris people flock to, a culinary visit is incomplete without dining at La Condesa.
