All the doctors on staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and go to great lengths to make sure their patients are comfortable, informed, and well cared-for. While I've also seen the other doctors in the practice once or twice, my PCP is Dr. Melrose, and he's delightful. An affable guy without any of the arrogance that you often see in other doctors, Dr. Melrose -- and his angel of an assistant Charlene -- both take wonderful care of their patients. He never makes you feel like you're taking up valuable time, and is perfectly happy to spend as much time as needed with each patient. The front-office staff is very friendly and welcoming as well, and the clinic itself is clean, brightly-lit, and quite nice. Best of all, I've never waited more than 10 minutes for an appointment, and 95% of the time, I'm seen within five minutes of walking through the door. My only regret is that I didn't switch to GVFM sooner. So long as I live in this area, I'll never, ever go to another practice. LOVE these guys!

It was such a great surprise when I realized that I still have the same patient portal, with all my records easily available. What has struck me the most is the level of communication with the staff. My care team is easily accessible via the patient portal for questions and concerns. When ordering an additional test based on blood test results, I received a call explaining why the test was requested, what it was looking for, and not to worry :-) I'm really happy with the level of care that I'm receiving.

Every time I see her she is very empathetic and I've often had to write her via our patient portal for all kinds of different things, she is extremely responsive and always helps me no matter what my issue is. I have had some challenging conditions for which he coordinated my treatment between several medical specialists. He diagnosed a very rare blood cancer. Most other doctors have never even heard of it. He always returns calls promptly. Always on time for your appointments. His physicals are thorough and he meets with you when finished to discuss his findings. I could go on but the fact that I've been his patient for so many years shows my confidence in him. I have always found the office staff to be attentive and very friendly. They know your name when you arrive and always ask about your family.

It's by far the nicest looking doctor's office I've ever visited. As for Dr. Garg, my previous review remains true and today's visit only solidified my opinion. I don't feel awkward saying I love Dr. Garg. That may seem like an exaggeration, but if anything, it's an understatement. I am eternally grateful for the aid he has provided, and continues to provide, my wife and best friend. It took years to find a doctor with this level of intelligence, education, warmness, trustworthiness, and empathy, but Dr. Garg makes all the searching and effort worthwhile. He's more than just my wife's pain management doctor. I consider him my friend.

Luckily, I got her medical records and I'm following her physician ( Sue Maynard) to Mt. Airy Family Practice. Mt. Airy Family Practice is located in beautiful West Mt. Airy. Not hard to find with its red awning stating the name. They're still using the safety precautions for covid. You have to ring the bell to enter. A staff member greets you at the door with a series of questions. Have had your covid shot? Exposed to covid? Out of the country? Waiting for covid results? That sort of questioning! And you must wear a mask! Once you get past this, you can enter. They were pretty efficient with the registration process, and taken in to be seen pretty quickly. My daughter has special needs and they were great and patient with her. Special thanks to the young lady that took her blood and gave her a flu shot. So sorry I didn't get her name. Sue Maynard (nurse practitioners) was great as well. Filled out the necessary paperwork that I need with no problem. The only issue is they never mentioned the $15 fee for the paperwork until I was about to leave. I do understand these fees, but please be upfront about them. So glad to be following this practice.

They also have an online portal where you can see lab results and message the provider about questions or request an upcoming appointment. I am also really impressed with the NP who helped me with a physical and vaccinations for school.

Without notice they became a tier 3 from a 1. Tripling my cost . They preformed services and I pay my copay. 3 months later I get billed 85% more . I question what happened , they said Keystone changed things without them knowing . I spoke with Blue Cross and they informed me that no changes can be made without approval by the Doctors office and that they are responsible to collect correctly at time of service. I paid once , I do not plan to pay again. The fact is although I was a routine annual visit ,.,, $0.00 co-pay .. they charge me $ 40.00 , now they want $ 30.00 more .... Are we not all tired of being ripped off by insurance companies and health care ?

But it was getting late. And gosh was I wrong! From the girls at the front desk, to the clinical staff, to Dr. Schmidt, I can honestly say I'd go back here in a heartbeat, any time (although hopefully not often!). Everyone was so warm, personable, and kind. I did not at all feel rushed and very much appreciate the fact that they each seem very passionate about their "callings", (rather than referring to "just a job".) I could tell that they care and take their time to listen and treat each patient as an individual. Dr. Schmidt went above and beyond, even sharing some extra info and hand outs regarding vitamin supplements and chatting about vaccines. Super happy with my experience here... highly recommend! We weren't sure what Highmark PCP would cover, said $15 for PCP but nothing for urgent care. Turns out it was only $15 for the urgent care as well. At the time we came there were only a couple people in the waiting room. We didn't have to wait too long. It was a a pleasant experience and we will continue to go back!
