We discovered this food hall when watching videos about what to do in Malmo and I'm SO glad we went here! It's filled with a variety of food options. The day we went it was packed with people and long lines for several food spots. We were loving the Swedish meatballs we had gotten to try while visiting Sweden and so had to order these again. It was so much fun to watch our meal be made while sitting at the counter of the food spot we chose. They have a bakery and dessert placed to check out too. The Swedish meatballs from Clemens was the best thing I've eaten in Sweden. It was everything I hoped for and more. The mashed potatoes were sooo creamy, the meatballs were huge and perfectly seasoned, the gravy was so savory. I was in heaven. The service was also excellent. They were so busy during lunch rush but were still attentive to us. During a short break, they checked in on us and got us a sample of a super refreshing apple soda. as an american from the west coast, this burger is the closest thing you can get to in n out that i've tried in europe since i moved here in august. definitely recommend trying this if you are in the area!! didn't try any of the other food in the hall but it looked good. the burger and the drink costed around $18 read more

We visited Malmö Saluhallen during a recent trip to Sweden. We walked over from our hotel near the central station. This food hall had bars, food vendors, butchers and bakeries. Each stall has a designated seating area. I enjoyed getting to see fresh meatballs being made at the butcher stand. However the highlight for me was turning a corner and seeing St. Jakobs Stenugns bageri which I had read about. I was even following their account on Instagram because I wanted to try a cardamom bun while in Sweden but a week or so before our trip I saw a post about their seasonal saffron cardamom buns! I was so happy to bump into this heavenly bakery and get to try the saffron cardamom bun that had been beckoning me through Instagram. I love cardamom and saffron and typically associate them with middle eastern flavors so it was lovely seeing them featured in a Swedish pasty. I want to try and bake a version of these when I get home. read more

The price of the food is reasonable and not overpriced and the quality of the food we tasted was excellent. had my first fika in sweden at st. jakobs stenugnsbageri! this location is inside the malmo saluhall which has a bunch of smaller stands of local restaurants/cafes. this location has a cute ambiance with tables and candlelight. we came on a wednesday around 5pm looking for a cinnamon bun and a lot of pastries were gone, but they still had a decent selection. we decided to try the semla (a seasonal pastry) and a chocolate ball. semla: a creampuff-like pastry with a cardamom bun, whipped cream, and almond paste. i enjoyed this pastry since it was not too sweet. the cardamom flavor was light and the almond paste added to the whipped cream flavor. chocolate ball: a dessert with chocolate, oats, coconut flakes i think, etc. this also tasted good but it seems like a dessert you could probably easily make at home. i think my total came out to be around 74SEK for these two pastries. i would come back again, especially earlier in the day to try the cinnamon buns and for more fresh pastries since these were served cold and were toward the end of the day. read more

Malmo Saluhall: where the food is great, but the real experience comes with a side of pest-induced trauma. Let me start by saying the vendors serve up some genuinely tasty dishes, from gourmet sandwiches to freshly baked treats. Unfortunately, any enjoyment quickly fades once you notice the state of the place. Picture this: rat droppings scattered across the floor in plain sight. Yes, you read that right--rat droppings, in a food hall. As if that wasn't unsettling enough, I spotted small bugs crawling around like they owned the place. At first, I tried to shrug it off. Big mistake. A few days later, I started noticing a mysterious rash. Then I saw it: the same kind of bug I'd spotted at the Saluhall. A quick search confirmed my worst fear--bedbugs. Somehow, they must have hitched a ride home with me, hiding in my bag or clothing. I've since spent hundreds of dollars on exterminators, trying to reclaim my home from these unwelcome guests. So yes, while the food might impress, the hygiene (or lack thereof) is downright horrifying. If you value your sanity, your wallet, and your home's cleanliness, I'd strongly advise steering clear of Malmo Saluhall. This is one dining experience you don't want to take home with you. read more

A smaller food hall that has most of the bases covered. It looks like they expanded their hours as they are now open until 19:00 during the week & Friday to 21:00. That said, would recommend getting there no later than an hour before closing time. I've tried Poms (sandwiches) & they were very good. Also, tried a Raspberry tart & pastry from the bakery (St. Jakobs) & both were excellent. Glass (Ice Cream) is also excellent! Cheese & Montaditos at Mollans Ost were delicious! Looking forward to trying Hedvigsdal (Pizza) & Pink Noodle. They also have a butcher (Limhamns), Fish Monger (Soderholmens-popular for their Oysters), Burger spot & salads and Poke Bowl spots. Seating can be tight when they are busy. So, again, a good amount of options & only a 7 minutes walk from Central station. Now if they would only expand the weekend hours. read more

If you love food halls, this one is not to missed. Just blocks from the Central Station, it's an easy walk. Once inside, there are a handful of stands from sushi to a bakery to sit down restaurants. Bathrooms are in the back and there's more seating outside and on the second level. There's free, strong wifi that doesn't require a password! read more

This was the cutest place in Malmo. No offense to all the historic sites in town... but this was a modern indoor food court with a mix of food, coffee, pastries, cheese, seafood etc. It was pretty busy during the lunch hour but there's enough variety of food options to satisfy diverse group of people. My husband and I just wanted a light snack, so we grabbed coffee and pastries, while charging our phones. There's WIFI in the Saluhall which is an extra plus. The cheese station had samples out with a few crackers. The restrooms were clean but small. But at least you don't have to pay for it like the train stations. I would say an American version of this is similar to SF"s ferry building or Anaheim's packing district. read more

I only spend 24 hrs in Malmo so my experience is limited but this was by far the most fun place I've visited. This food hall is similar to many others across the world but it has a relaxed atmosphere and doesn't have the snobbishness that some of these places have. It was interesting to stroll around the different stalls and see the different food which was on offer. I was in a bit of a hurry as I had to travel to the airport so this place was perfect for a quick lunch. However, I must warn you: it was super busy during lunchtime. Nevertheless I managed to get my food quickly and it was the steak sandwich I had at the butcher stall was the best plate I had during my stay in Malmo. The meat was tasty, the bread toasted right and the side salad was a nice addition. In addition, I sat at the counter and chatted a bit with the uber friendly staff who was happy to help me out in English. Would go again when in Malmo. read more

For a day trip from CPH to Malmo, I honestly expected more from the (only? and) most hyped food hall in the city. Disappointed to say that I could've stuck to Torvehallerne in CPH and not missed out at all. Location: while it's in "city center," it actually isn't. It's about a 10-15min walk from Central Station, past Malmo Universitet. I'd recommend stopping by if you have time or if the weather's great for a casual stroll, otherwise this isn't in the "tourist" part of city center where more lively shops and restaurants are. Selection: fair amount. There isn't much fresh grocer selection, but there are some meats and fish, not so much vegetables or fruits though. They have a bakery, a chocolate stand, and some other warm food stands, but nothing exceptionally memorable. read more
