I've had a few surgeries over the past couple years each by Dr. Eric J. Mallico, MD. He's become more of a friend rather than a doctor. I've seen alot of doctors over the past two year with my medical journey. This man right here has been there since day one, he is the best Surgeon/Doctor at Novant hands down. I trust this man, and his team with my life each and every time with every procedure they have performed. (~7 times) read more

Dr. Malico operated on my mother. She was in good health prior to her operation. At first glance I was impressed with Dr. Malico. At each follow up visit she was told she was healing well and making great progress after her hiatal hernia surgery. When she expressed concern, she was told each issue was standard. Last Tuesday I took her for a follow up visit and she mentioned feeling breathless and losing weight. She was told they could do a chest X-ray but this was not performed. My mother had multiple health insurance policies and the means to pay for any procedure that was ordered. Now, a week later my mother is DEAD! Yesterday 10/23/2018 Dr. Malico consented to an autopsy per Wilma because my mother showed nothing that would have indicated she would have died or I would have found her deceased. Reneging on an autopsy after my mother has had no issues that would have resulted in her death. I had to contact the patient advocate today in order to be told the decision was reversed. This is not how I would expect a physician to treat a patient after finding out their patient has passed away. read more

The physicians here are pretty good. Fairly knowledgeable in the area of family medicine. Quick…read moreto refer out to a specialist, which can be a plus or minus depending on how you see that. Nurses are pretty good about drawing blood--you hardly feel it when they say "little stick." BUT the front office staff are DUMB. Each and everyone one of them. There have now been too many instances demonstrating their collective incompetence and unprofessional manner. I can't tell you how many times I've watched their facial expressions strain as they try to think their way out of the most ordinary of situations. To use an analogy, it would be like if you went to McDonald's and asked for extra pickle on your burger. Extra pickle? There are pickles on the burgers?? And how would you put extra ones on there??? Bottom line: physicians are ok, front office staff sub-poor, hence the one star. Wish i could give zero stars. I no longer trust my life in the hands of these incompetents.

He is a very good Doctor very efficient, he does not waste your time but, he is never rushed with patients. He tells you like it is and he is not afraid to change medications that other Drs (specialists) have prescribed for your well being . He has displayed great incite when issues arise as far as health and Insurance coverages, drug interactions, and the handling and filing( His office) of all the tons of red tape paperwork that are sometimes needed. On one office visit I had a medical emergency and all I remember is him being cool as a cucumber knowing EXACTLY what to do when a few of the nurses seem to be in a panic of sorts . GREAT DOCTOR!
