Cleanest bathrooms! Traveling through from Michigan. Nicest gas stations along the way. THANK YOU!

I have a lot of health concerns so a store like this is just what I need, and while visiting recently I popped back in to see what was up. I was immediately greeted by several staff members who apologized for their disarray - they were redoing the store and a lot of stuff was moved around and under construction. I let them know I'd been there before and had been passing through to check the place out again, and she was so relieved I had seen them before their current state. While we didn't really need any food, my boyfriend and I couldn't resist grabbing some whoopie pies on our way out. They were fairly inexpensive, and I was happy to see they were made by Hungry Hollow up on 26. The cashier told us her favorite was the pumpkin, as we had gotten that and the chocolate. Once we ate them later we wished more were purchased, because (sorry auntie!) those were the best whoopie pies I've ever had.

The thing that is frustrating is they seem to cater to the out of towners more than the people who are here for them year round. After the weekend, the market is empty and they restock toward the middle or the end of the week before the tourist come. Their produce is disgusting, nothing is fresh. Try to find anything in the store and it's a challenge even for the people who shop there all the time. And let me just say this about the choices, seems like whoever is ordering is only getting a brand they like and then only what they would choose. For instance they carry Brigham's ice cream, the only flavor, peppermint stick. I happen to like that type but why buy only one flavor. I've tried finding large cans on albacore solid white tuna and so many other things, that were always there before this group bought the store and can never find them. They really need to take into consideration the people who live here and maybe cater to the people who keep them in business year round!

Most of their products are Hannaford brand, their paper bags say "Hannaford", even their name badges have the Hannaford brand. But don't dare call this a Hannaford store or the employees will give you an earful, lol. If you go there in the weekdays they have some very entertaining locals who often walk the aisles for something to do. You get shopping and entertainment all in one.

Where do I begin?, Well... 1. The Ice Cream Window…read more Right out of the gate the menu is confusing too confusing in fact to remember their system but it was something like this: you choose your flavor then you choose your method (ie. sundae, cone, sugar cone) then your topping, and lastly there is a candy topping menu using brand name candy bars. I stood outside the window for close to 20 mins waiting to be attended to, then a lady comes to the window all confused looking like I wasn't supposed to be there I asked if the Ice Cream walk up window was open, she said it was and asked for my order, then when she realized I was ordering not just for my self just walked away and was gone for about 5 mins. She returned with a note pad and had me restart my order, then took an obscene amount of time to make my 2 orders, after it was all said and done I had spent about 45 mins getting ice cream. the toppings were huge chunks and I almost choked on a hand cut no doubt candy bar topping chunk. I have never had ice cream there again. 2. Grocery Area. Bare shelf's and over priced dry goods I'm not paying $8.99 for a disposable cardboard salt and pepper shaker. They have a hodge podge used furniture/ used merchandise spread throughout the store making navigation on the sales floor a nightmare (Hey look a china cabinet with no shelfs and a missing drawer only $85). 3. The Deli/Kitchen. there is a small eating area inside the store maybe the only square footage not jammed up with yard sale type items and a counter overlooking the Deli/Kitchen. The food is awesome and the only real reason to visit but its over priced like the groceries also portions are small and thankfully they have daily specials. If you can take some abuse and roll with the punches, this is a good place to stop at for the food.

I was surprised by the renovations but seeming as I haven't set foot in here in over 15 years, I'm not sure why. I was definitely confused by the new layout however felt that it gave a fresh and clean look to the store. The true reason behind my review today is due to the two nice individuals who helped me at self-checkout, one who simply just helped me remove an item that I have double-scanned and the other was one of the managers who helped adjust the price for an item that was scanning in more expensive than the price label indicated it was. They were so understanding and fixed the problem with ease-- I really appreciated it! As I mentioned above, I typically choose to use my Walmart+ for delivery over going to the store so do not have many experiences to speak on but I do know that if I ever do need to step foot in a Walmart again, I will be choosing the Walmart location over Auburn any day.

My husband is one of the kindest people on earth, but he relies on a good battery for his tractor. We will definitely go to Tractor supply, and I will go to Hannafords for my groceries. Now they say that they can't delete our personal information from their computers.
