I came here to get my eyebrows done. My brows are naturally really light and sparse, i usually have…read moreto color them in but I'm really not a fan of using too much makeup. I inquired about a consultation for permanent makeup - nano feather brows (more natural strokes compared to microblading) and the lady who answered the phone actually scheduled me for the Waikīkī location without telling me (originally I wanted Kapolei)...I show up to the Kapolei location day of my consultation and the place is closed. So I called the town location and the owner Hideko answered - I explained to her the situation and she apologized and said that she'd come to Kapolei that week and do the consultation herself. The day of my consultation I called a couple hours before and asked if she'd be able to do the actual service and they were able to accommodate me and said yes! This Kapolei location is nearby Ho'okele elementary and it's a small little shop with one bed in the center. It's very clean and relaxing. Hideko answered all of my questions and concerns. She drew out how my brows would look like and asked if I'd like to proceed. The process itself felt like tiny scratches on my brows not too sore. From consultation to finish it took about 2 hours 45 minutes. Hideko really connects with her clients, gets to know them and takes her time putting in quality work. The price I paid was $800 without tax or tip but I'm very happy with how it came out and I don't regret it at all. A follow-up/touch-up appointment is included in the price you pay if you'd like to add more detail or anything. Thank you so much Hideko and definitely would come back again!

I had my first appointment close to a month ago to have my brows done at their Century Center location. Now that a second one opened closer to home I scheduled my re-touch at the Kapolei location. It is in close vicinity of Ashley Furniture just off Kapolei Parkway close to a school and in a residential area. You will need to find street parking so be on the lookout for the Island Beauty sandwich board fronting the salon. Upon entering it felt like walking into the chicest spa with beautiful music, white fur chairs, white treatment tables and romantic wallpaper set off by a stunningly chandelier. Hideko checked on how my brows turned out after the first session, then marked points and measured to make sure both brows were aligned. This time she was going to microblade my brows after the numbing gel was applied. She cautioned me that I would feel more this time...so true as I felt my left hand grasping onto the table and what seemed like I penetrated the tissue paper lining. She asked if I was okay, applied more numbing gel. I had asked about the microblade tool which she showed me was new and in a sterile wrapper. It was so tiny like a pen but consisted of 17 needle like protrusions but I'd need a magnifying glass to really see. When the procedure was done she nodded approval and smiled and I was very pleased at the outcome. Hideko really is a master at her craft, I felt very confident being worked on by her. Thankyou and see you again Hid

During that call, I stated that I was willing to provide medical documentation regarding the pink eye diagnosis, and that offer was not welcomed at the time. So it's confusing to now see that documentation is being requested publicly. The photo attached to my original review was taken immediately after the service. In that image, you can see that some lashes were not properly isolated and several were not lifted upward evenly. Additionally, the rods were in place for the duration of the 1.5-hour appointment while the facial, dermaplaning, and extractions were being performed. I understand policies exist, but the experience itself, both during the service and in the follow-up communication, is why I felt compelled to leave my review. Clients deserve to feel heard and taken seriously, especially when a medical issue follows a treatment. Ultimately, based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this business.

Hair removal means hair removal. That's way too much money for hair to still be left and eyebrows to be two different shapes. The artist I requested online wasn't the artist I got. Would have given 2 stars but the receptionist was so sweet and helpful. She would be the reason I come back but I'll stick to a place that's cheaper and gets all the hair. Places was super clean and nice inside just the service wasn't the best for eyebrow & lip waxing.

The technician who worked on me this time is the same person who gave me a terrible manicure about 1.5 years ago, after which I swore I wouldn't return. I only came back because I was desperate to remove badly chipped gel polish and hoped things had changed. They hadn't. Gel removal: Instead of soaking and gently scraping off the gel, he used an electric buffer to grind it off, which is exactly what he did last time as well. This is aggressive, unnecessary, and extremely irritating--especially since soaking with acetone had already been done. "Deluxe" manicure issues: The deluxe manicure was supposed to include: * Sugar scrub * Mask & hot towel However, he applied the sugar scrub and the mask at the same time, wrapped my arms, and then left to smoke a cigarette outside while I sat there. My arms were burning and uncomfortable the entire time. In every deluxe manicure or pedicure I've ever had elsewhere, the process is: 1. Sugar scrub 2. Rinse or wipe clean 3. Then apply the mask to clean skin 4. Wrap in warm towels 5. Remove and continue treatment That did not happen here. Applying scrub and mask together makes no sense and defeats the purpose of both. Bottom line: This was rushed, improperly performed, and uncomfortable. I gave this place a second chance after a bad experience years ago, and I regret it. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this salon--especially for gel services or deluxe treatments.
