Ok let's get a couple of things out of the way, shall we?…read more 1) Yes, the employees are largely unhelpful if you're looking for something specific, and the cashiers barely even acknowledge your presence. Unless you speak the same language they do and then they'll bend over backwards to help you. (I do not) 2) Yes, the frozen food is barely frozen (likely to save on their electrical bill by turning them lower than they should be). Here's how to deal with the above mentioned points: 1) If you're unfamiliar with the groceries there, thankfully most of it is in English so you can read it/look it up on Google, whatever. I tend to wait until another shopper is in the aisle and "looks friendly" enough to ask his/her advice---most of the time, people are happy to speak about their culture/food and welcome questions or give advice---yes, even in NY lol 2) Reach into the freezers far enough to grab the box/bags from the back which are much more frozen than the ones nearer the front. General tips: Go early because the place fills up quick. Don't take a shopping cart (use a basket instead) because the aisles are somewhat narrow. There is a price scanner in a couple of the aisles that you are welcome to use if needed. AMAZINGLY large selection and VERY GOOD prices!! It's amazing how much stuff you can pick up here for much less than other places on the same street.

Apna Bazar is an ethnic grocery store specifically targeting Indian food and spices, hell spawn hot…read moresauces, Indian curry seasonings and all food staples including Basmati rice of Indian cultural cuisine of a large selection. It is clean and wide aisles when browsing. I came here specifically for fresh fruits and tomatoes due to the very reasonable price and quantity without economic shrinkflation or compromise. Inflation and agflation 2023 era shrinkage greatly affects my household as working families. This grocery store does offers limited pots, pans and cooking utensils but do NOT expect to be high quality pots for avid cooks/ chefs as Williams Sonoma, Sur La Table, or Calphalon standard quality. There are also mainstream American frozen foods, juice, soda of standard American brand names available. Customer service is, indeed, nonexistent and albeit dismissive, curt, mired in disgruntled melancholy behavioral appearance exhibited and transparent to customers. Return policy is absolutely deplorable egregiously inferior and excessively poor standards of a traditional brick and mortar business. I agree with previous Yelpers with the excessively poor female cashiers' customer service and stolid dismissive behaviors. They do, indeed, exhibit rude scowl belligerent looks to customers as serial thieves. Personally, I like to explore, wanderer freely and openly, plus read products throughout the entire store aisles to see if any item possibly attracts my attention for potential purchase(s). This business is located in South Richmond Hill, Queens serving Little Guyana and is very accessible by MTA subway A train Lefferts Boulevard, buses Q8 and Q112.

For the main reason of their friendly staff along with their amazing fresh and delicious blackeye cake cakes, or also known as Chinese cake or black bean cake. Hands down, they have the best blackeye cake I have ever had. The pastry is extremely thin. You will not find a thick piece of dough anywhere on this little pastry. The interior is packed, about 2 inches thick of black eye bean mixture/purée. Which is the main ingredient in this pastry. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping in just to try these. They are delicious and you too will fall in love with them!! they're usually packed in quantities of six, and one container is $6, so a dollar per cake is not a bad deal considering how full these are and not doughy. A lot of other places in the area makes the same pastry, but others are more dough than filling, so stop in to try these!

Needless too say I was extremely impressed as I walked the rows of iced fish with eyes so clear -- they almost twinkled. Listing all of the fish Dave's has available would really paint a better picture of the enormous varieties, all but the highly elusive -- Devils Hole Pupfish. If there was an area that lacked it would be the Bivalvia class, IE: oysters and clams, minus Little Neck and Top Neck clams but I point the dirty end of the stick at YOU the consumer for not creating the adequate demand, so hence forth - I shall carry that torch. Six squid at six ninety nine a pound, octopus a few bucks north of that, whole Tilapia at two fifty a pound, shrimp of many different waters and size and a few salmon steaks -- just because i can never seem to leave a fish store without. For a Saturday afternoon the store was surprisingly empty and the lines were short. In and out, all said the shopping in and out took twenty minutes.

Former home to Duane Reade Pharmacy; and before that was Rite Aid Pharamcy, prior to that this business location was a party supply store, Party Giant, and prior to that in the 1980s a supermarket, Dan's Supermarket. Fast forward to 2021 this business location is another supermarket, Marketplace Supermarket dba Key Food Supermarket. Despite the outdoor facade signage Marketplace Supermarket it was possibly purchased by Key Food. This location endured a very delayed opening in September 2020 due to the effects of COVID-19. There is a lot of fresh produce of vegetables and fruits near the entrance. There is a very small selection of cookies and choice offerings from reputable brand names. Aisles are very wide, but I prefer the Key Food located on the corner of 101st Avenue and 102nd Street as it has a long standing history. I believe every Key Food's products and stock varies pending on the geographic, demographic, economic, and psychographics as per my college marketing courses define location, location!
