We buy all of our kids' lacrosse equipment at Sartorius now, and they've never steered us wrong. Our older daughter was ready for an advanced/high level stick and we appreciated so much that she could try many different options right there in the store and get feedback from staff members who actually know the sport and could guide her towards the best options for the position she plays. Our younger daughter's goalie helmet had a hardware issue about 6 months after we bought it and I brought it to Sartorius expecting to need to pay $40 for a new throat guard - not so, Chris had the right hardware and fixed it for us in minutes. Their stringing services are also fairly-priced and quick.

Chris and Paul guided me to not one, but two pairs of shoes (Hoka and Saucony) that fit great. My orthotics squeaked a bit in the shoes, but Chris had a brilliant solution that involved cutting a layer of thin material to insert in the shoes. Takes time and skill, but he did it for all four shoes while I waited. Now I can sneak up on people without the squeaking giving me away... Happy and grateful (and stealthy) customer.

The fields are kept neat and clean by the Farmington Parks and Recreation Department and generally only used for scheduled sporting events. The trails are my favorite through the 4 seasons. Quiet trails with our pup and the occasional chance of other friendly pups. Please keep the trails clean if your pup needs to drop a Number 2, trash cans are available near the athletic fields. Get out and enjoy all the great outdoor space has to offer.

"The falling leaves drift by the window The autumn leaves of…read morered and gold I miss you most of all my darling When autumn leaves start to fall" (Nat "King" Cole) I found that trail that Kim V. found at the back end of a parking lot. Didn't see any markers or entrance signs there, besides one sign that was vandalized by spray paint, making whatever information was on it, illegible. The path was enveloped by falling and fallen leaves, so there was a blanket of yellows, golds, and browns everywhere. And it's a very low impact path- pretty much flat with a very small number of rocks and tree limbs to trip you up. On the path we saw a very cool site where it skirts a farm property -two small baling tractors tidying up the overgrown hayfield and making neat cylindrical bales of hay. Eventually, the path takes you to the Farmington River and if you follow the path and keep the river to your right you'll be rewarded with some very pretty scenery. Stay on the path and get to the very impressive Farmington High School Boathouse and boat launch. Toss in a few wood bridges, skeletal remains of old buildings, and a concrete staircase to nowhere, and you'll enjoy your visit as much as we did. Our walk to the boathouse and back ran around 6,000 steps.

"Why do you have to say that there's always someone who can…read moredo it better than I can? But don't you think that I know that walking on the water won't make me a miracle man?" (Elvis Costello) There are four baseball fields in a park where Asylum Avenue and Trout Brook Drive meet in West Hartford. Three of the fields are used by the WH Little League. The fourth field is different. You might say it's a Miracle Field. This field was designed for physically and cognitively challenged players. The playing field is built with a soft rubberized surface that is fully wheelchair accessible. Instead of raised bases and a pitching mound, these features are painted into the field's flat surface. The  base paths, distance from the pitchers mount to home plate, and outfield fence distances are shorter than regular Little League fields. Other than these tweaks and accommodations, the Miracle Field looks very much like a  typical Little League field. Fundraising for the Miracle Field started in 2008, and through private, corporate, philanthropic and governmental entities, over $800,000 was raised to construct not only the field but a playground, restroom and concession facilities that were accessible to all. In 2012, the Miracle League Field opened as the first of its kind in New England. Their website says it's still the only one of its kind in Connecticut.
