I made the appointment online and prior to the appointment, I received an email from one of the office technician, Kennedy Courtney and a follow up phone call to confirm the appointment and to see if I had any questions. I definitely wasn't expecting that type of thoroughness from a government agency. Upon arrival, there were ample of parking space and the building was super easy to find. The passport office shares the same building as the police department and is on the 2nd floor. When you get there, there's a touchscreen tv that you can check in at, but there was a nice lady there that said she can help check us in while we wait. Kennedy helped us with the passport process and we were in and out within minutes. Keep up the great work, Federal Way. My mother was impress with the whole process.

Signs in the parking lot provided clear directions to the entrance for the city hall and the court. I was looking for a ballot dropbox per the dropbox information I received in the mail along with my ballot. Looking for the ballot dropbox by the front of the building I did not immediately sight the box. Turns out it was located along the road above where I parked my car. It was visible from the front of the city hall, just not located at the entrance. A sidewalk provided means of dropping off my ballot via foot.

She cut right to the chase and sought to find the truth in the documents. It was apparent that her goal was only to decide who had the proper documentation in accordance with what the law says. I'm only giving this review because I did not witness what others claimed in the other reviews.

To the point: Judge Laurel Gibson is not fit for her role so do what you can to have your small…read moreclaims case heard by a different judge. If you're stuck, keep your evidence simple and explanations even simpler. Also, don't dress too nice and act a little like you're simple with a sprinkle of victimhood. .She's easily overwhelmed and will ignore many of the facts, and seems to have a chip on her shoulder towards well-dressed, well-mannered, and eloquent people. Detail: This is belated by a little over a year but my small claims case was heard by Judge Laurel Gibson. Like many in this series, I too was floored by the lack of competence and professionalism and display of smugness. I've won and lost small claims cases before and accepted the results as fair but this loss was bizarre. In short, a property manager misrepresented a rental I virtually toured and signed the lease. Upon move-in, the rental had mildew, mold, and mustiness throughout and even on the drywall. I hired an environmental consultant to take samples and he generated a report that supported elevated levels of mold that required remediation, which the manager refused to perform. My wife also produced a doctor's note supporting her allergic reactions to mold. I broke the lease and later pursued legal action. Despite evidence of the environmental and doctor reports, a detailed and supported accounting of losses incurred, photographs, and my willingness to previously negotiate a lower settlement with the manager, Judge Gibson's basis for dismissing my case (with prejudice too, which seemed excessive, so that I couldn't appeal) was that I didn't call the county health inspector to deem the rental condemnable. She also made it a point to put us down by saying such conditions are normal in the PNW and that my wife is too sensitive, to which I told her our new rental has zero presence of such conditions to which she had no response and reminded her that her doctor made the determination of how "sensitive" she is. The defendant, property manager, came in poorly dressed with almost no counter-evidence. His wife, who was not sworn in, disrupted while my wife was talking to hand evidence to the judge that was not previously shared with us beforehand. I called it out but the judge allowed it. Contrast to me in a suit, well organized, and respectful of the court.

There are several reasons buying a house in Seatac was the worst decision of my life, but the main…read morereason is the noise. I have roosters next door. There is no law against roosters, a creature known for aggressive behavior and making excessive noise. For three years I have been asking the city to do something. Every night I am woken up, sometimes as early as 2:30 am. When I say every night, I mean every night, including Christmas. After visiting the code complaint office several times and opening two seperate cases, finally some action was taken. Unfortunately, it took several months and speaking in front of the city council until there was any results. Still, I am woken up in the middle of every night. The animal hoarding situation next door went from a ridiculous 30+ birds to the code compliant 4, one still being a rooster. The city says since the neighbors are now code complaint they are done. Now they don't even return my emails. The city of Seatac seems to strongly oppose any change, even something as common sense as simple legislation against roosters. Every other city and town in the tri-county area has a law in effect but Seatac. Do yourself a favor and don't move here. The city is more concerned with creating watch lists for Islamic residents than addressing any of your concerns. At one time my mail was stolen and I had to wait 8 hours for a cop who basically said I should have had a locking mailbox. I am currently saving up to move out of this noisy disappointment of a neighborhood.

It feels weird leaving a review on Yelp for the Department of Licensing, but I wanted to give a…read moremassive shout out to the best DMV experience I've ever had. I had an appointment to update my EDL as I realized it expired next year on my birthday (in early April, when I'll be out of the country). I looked online and they had multiple same-day appointments or ones roughly 3 weeks out, so I decided to do a same-day appointment about an hour and half later. I grabbed all my documents (I ended up not needed them since I already had my EDL and was just renewing but it was unclear based on the DOL website), then headed to Kent. My appt was at 10:45 but I showed up at 10:37. I checked in via text, then walked in. The front desk worker confirmed that it was indeed me and I did indeed check in online, then directed me to the waiting area. My number was called roughly 90 seconds later, and then I was able to get my eyes checked, take my picture, and confirm my information within the next couple minutes. I was back out at my car to leave at 10:42, before the time of my actual appointment. Huge shout out to the main representative I worked with, Ashley, who was kind, efficient, and fun in an environment that is typically perceived as none of those things. She also had the cutest pink keyboard and was a great representation of the WA DOL.

At that time, they were at #360. The numbers were being called randomly at times for Walk-Ins and Appointments, so had to keep an eye on the monitor for the number and ding sound. The PA system or volume was so low you could hardly hear anything. Was sitting in the waiting area for over an hour. Got called up at 10:45 AM. Shared my required documents (Mail with Name and Home Address on it, a valid U.S. Passport) and current Driver's License. The lady who assisted me was very friendly and helpful. She was knowledgeable and provided adequate details and information about what the Real ID is included with - Radio Frequency Identification) technology, a unique identifier to confirm the authenticity of the ID. After verifying my information on the screen, she took a photo of me and requested the payment. It was only $21.00 since my current driver's license doesn't expire until 2027, so have to wait until 2026 to renew it for an additional 8-year one since it has to be within a year or less until your Driver's License expires to be able to get the extended one. Thanked the nice lady and exited the DMV. It was a good experience, overall... The waiting period was as expected, so be aware of that when you visit... Also, there aren't enough parking spaces close by during peak times, so you might have to park in the back or across the street.
