For a nice afternoon walk after eating dinner by the sea. The malecon stretches along the coast for about a mile or more. There are multiple vendors and store fronts to order a drink and food/snacks. I love the sound of the waves, the salty, fresh smell, and the seagulls. The Mexican flag waves proudly above you. The children love to play with the water spouts that shoot up from the ground. When the sun starts to set, the spouts are illuminated with colors. It's unfortunate that this page doesn't allow you to upload videos. I took a snapshot from the videos I have so I could give you an idea. When the malecon gets really busy, they tend to gate the water spouts for safety reasons. Warning: You may get wet!!

Lots of shopping opportunities: a sarape and sombrero next time :)

Review 62 The Malecón de Ensenada is a little port with dozens of street vendors, you can get anything from a traditional fresh coconut to roasted corn on the cob. The landmark is centered by a beautiful flagpole with what is said to be the largest flag in Mexico! https://c4.staticflickr.com/4/3060/2814807177_e0faaed1f2_b.jpg Plan B I only submit 5-Star reviews, if I post a review it's cause 'hat's off" I recommend the establishment and will return for another experience. I don't feel the need to submit a review with less than 5-Stars, regardless if I check in, submit a picture or tip. I suggest Yelp change it's reviews to a category scoring system, then is when I can be fair and review each place I visit. PM me if you like additional information.

Water and light show. Great for Selfies!

This place is absolutely awesome. There are many places to eat at. Inside each little restaurant there's a band playing and enough room to dance. It's a great place for the family, couples, and/or just friends! The light show and the boat ride were our favorite. It feels safe and we will most likely be going back.

Day 4 of my Royal Caribbean cruise. Ive been to Ensenada on previous cruises, about 8 or 9 times…read more. On previous cruises, sometimes I get off while in port, other times I don't. Today I felt like getting off. Exiting through the checkpoint was a breeze. Coming back through about at hour later was a breeze through security scanners and back on the ship. Staff at the checkpoint were friendly.

The best part about being in the cruise port was this gorgeous sunset: https://bit.ly/3NArKfW…read more Other than that, nothing super special about this port. But also, nothing bad to report. Upon disembarking the boat, there were photographers offering photos with locals dressed in indigenous wear. There were also 3rd party shuttles offering rides to downtown. Their hook was "it's a 4 mile walk round trip" but I didn't find them to be pushy. (Side note, it's actually only 2ish-miles round trip.) There's Ensenada signage nearby for photo ops. And this port is walking distance from a few places to explore such as outdoor markets, small businesses, cafes, and restaurants. We watched a bunch of videos on YouTube that helped us feel confident to explore on foot without having to spend money on a curated cruise excursion. I especially enjoyed our visit to Centro Social Cívico y Cultural Riviera de Ensenada, which is only half a mile from the cruise port. Walking back to the port, the guards checked for our stateroom keys on the way in. There were two ships ported at the time we were there (Carnival and Princess), and once we reached our specific boat, there were screening machines and security upon embarking. Overall, a pretty easy process. And I appreciate that this location is close enough to places to explore.
