One thing I am eternally grateful for is that there are very few Greggs in Cornwall. This means that proper bakeries like Barnecutt's are able to survive and thrive, and we can continue to enjoy decent food when we're out shopping. Barnecutt's is a great bakery serving a variety of hot food, bread and cakes, but what I really love is the pizza. For £1.50 you can get a decent sized slice of hot pizza. There's tomato, cheese & pineapple, pepperoni and vegetarian to choose from, all delicious. The base is really thick, sauce full of flavour and they don't skimp on the cheese. I cannot fault it. My only complaint is that you can't buy full pizzas. Like a lot of their hot snacks, they are served to you in a 3 sided box for easy street-eating and then wrapped in a paper bag.
The staff are friendly and everything is well made, super tasty and good value for money.
A word of warning for anyone hoping to visit the Liskeard bakery: get in quick before the lunch time rush or you might miss out on the good stuff!
There aren't enough bakeries like this left in the UK and we need to support those we have left! read more
