I always feel a bit bad reviewing vegetarian/vegan places, but I think it's good to read the perspective of a non-vegetarian person. Also, keep in mind, it is a pizza place in Mexico, and it does seem like the only option if you're truly desperate for pizza. But wow, that was some exceptionally bad pizza. Not even half-assed. Like, tenth-assed. The crust was like a cracker. The cheese was weak. The sauce tasted canned. The toppings weren't even cooked with the pizza - they were just sort of scattered on afterwards. And who puts a glob of guacamole in the middle of a pizza? And it wasn't even good guac. And why was it served on a cold pizza pan that it was clearly not cooked on? My veggie friends said the burgers were good, but if this place advertises itself as a pizza place, it should really put some effort into its pizza. read more

Vegan visiting cabo and I wish I found this gem sooner! Whether you are vegan or not you'll find this food very hydrating and refreshing, especially walking around in Cabos desert climate! I ordered the ceviche which comes with perfectly dehydrated chips. The lemonade was divine. Even the water had been infused with basil! I loved it! So delicious and chill atmosphere! Came here to pick up some take out after a long tiring day of water activities and we decided to sit down for some tres leches cake because the environment here was sooo zen and beautiful. There was some guy playing a guitar and singing and the music was sooo soothing and calm it made us feel super at peace with the heat and all the crazy exciting activities we did that day. The waiters were also super friendly which added to the experience. I found myself at peace here which is amazing. Mako is a vegan and vegetarian place so this place doesn't serve meat. I really wish I had gotten a burger because most people here get a burger or sandwich and it looks BOMB. Instead I got the caprese pasta because I was really craving it. My friend got a salad and the pesto pasta and she loved it as well. We also got some pineapple ice drink and it looked really awesome but too sweet we couldn't finish even 1/3 of it. But when we got to Mako and saw they specialize in Vegan food we were stoked. If you're vegan or vegetarian you have to go here. We had the Vegan nachos which were incredible. The kids got a smoothie and loved it. The Hawaiian burger was insane best vegan burger I've ever had. Our entire meal was $50 and we ordered 4 beers and basically all the food we could eat. I am working in Cabo for 17 days and finding a variety of vegan food hasn't been the easiest of ventures. I am beyond thrilled to come across Mako. It's adorable location is inviting and warm. The staff is always smiling and moving at the speed of light to bring you all the goodness. It was prompt without feeling rushed. Upon sitting I was greeted with chips and a beet/apple salsa that was thru the roof delicious. I ordered the 'Big Mako' - a lentil burger with caramelized onions and mushrooms, served with potato wedges, pickled jalapeños/onions/pickles. It was incredibly good. Taking advantage of being at a veg/vegan restaurant I HAD to have dessert. Today's dessert was a key lime tart made with avocado in what tasted like a date/coconut crust and topped with fresh fruit. At one point, I'm pretty sure my server caught me licking the plate. Speaking of licking, there is the most adorable pug scooting around from table to table making sure everyone is smiling and doing quality control. We ate here after eating at our resort multiple times. What a fantastic change for the better! The food was fresh, well prepared, and the service was friendly and helpful. The owner came and talked to the guests, along with the servers they very friendly. This is a small, open air, casual place that doesn't make "veggie versions of meat foods" ("pork" seitan, etc) - so look for that elsewhere. The tacos and lentil burgers are flavorful without overfilling the plate. The nachos were great- jalapeños actually hot! Don't expect the food to come out in American courses- this is an informal environment & it arrives when it's ready & hot. Young children are welcome & there is room for a stroller. We started with a non-alcoholic freshening drink. Fresh cucumber, pineapple, and water. So good. We ordered a hot dog, Mexican bowl, and pasta. All were fantastic. Who knew Vegan could taste so good? GET THE BIG VEGAN BURGER oh my god so good This place is a little tough to find but that makes it extra special. We went in the early evening and enjoyed the soothing sounds of live music played by a local hipster acoustic guitarist while sitting amongst the greenery of the quaint garden complete with bird bath and lighted palm trees. Try the coconut mojito, it's excellent! And reasonable price too. They bring over some mint - cucumber sauce in a shot glass. I wasn't sure what it was for as its way too creamy to drink, then after eating a slice of fresh jalapeño from my wife's mushroom sashimi, I quickly realized it's too cool off your mouth! I had the glorious tasty treat which is known as the big vegan burger. I had a lentil made patty hamburger called the Big Mako with a side salad. It was delicious! Refreshing in a way since vegan food is not heavy; perfect for the hot day.
