For $40, plus a fee for using my debit card, there was a lot left to be desired. To start, there was a wait when I got there. I was told my receptionist to have a seat. The owner/manager was sitting in a chair with all types of hair clips and took about 10 mins to tell me it'll just be a minute. I did have an appointment! Then I got truly the worst hair wash of my life. Tried to explain to the girl that my hair gets knotty easily. Just said no speak English. She ROUGHLY, and I mean ROUGHLY washed my hair. Some strands were pulled out! My hair became one big knotted mess. Then I had to awkwardly lift my head for a solid 15 mins for her to try and use a comb. It was terrible, I truly have less hair than when I walked in. The blow dry was alright. She did not put a single product in it. I asked for curls which was an extra fee. She also did not even try to speak to me. She just spoke w the owner and other hair dressers as well. When it was time to pay I was not told there would be a credit card fee! I also asked for change for a 10 but they had no singles. Very convenient. Overall I've had a better blow out in the Rockland/Bergen area. Even at super cuts!

She finished blowing my hair then put it in pin curls so that it stayed fresh and I just unpinned it after getting ready.. and the snow didn't ruin it. I literally had random strangers stopping me to say how gorgeous my hair looked.. and I 100% agree. Too bad I live over an hour away or I would be back regularly. Thank you ladies!!

My work schedule is so overwhelmingly busy it's nearly impossible to make time for any type of…read moreregular self maintenance appointments. But... the clock ticks away and time does not wait for anything. before you know it things that require regular attention can suffer. After months of putting it off overgrown extensions began to dreadlock at the roots in addition to bleach damage from highlights were destroying the quality of my hair, and scalp! More than should be allowed- hair extension specialists (no matter how high end the salon) end up carelessly ripping and pulling hair out when removing them to get it out of the way and felt as if they simply wanted to get it over with and rush to the next $$dollqr /client. . Which can make a person feel like just another cog in their wheel. all my life I had been complemented on how unusually gorgeous, silky , shiny and strong my natural hair was - and some hair "gurus" they treated it like it was mannequin test -hair or straw from under a scarecrows hat, disregarding my... 'silky hair gift' ‍and treated my hair like it was just another $$ tool to feed their greedy glutton traits. Mashitha however .. is like an angel sent from heaven... she is such a perfectionist with genuine empathy (literally as if it was her own hair) was so strategic and meticulous with every single thing. She really studies each of her clients unique hair types and strategically comes up with a perfect tailored plan for each individual's needs - not only for jus aesthetics but also for long term hair and scalp health and potential growth. I was so worried for my hair dreadlocked into keratin extension strands (from other "high end" salons. I was even more worried about my scalp. As wearing 22 inch keratin extensions about 2 -3 montbs too long each cycle on my type of hair for around 10+ years and began to show minor signs of balding in the spots that most frequently held the heavier pieces Mashitha was able to remove all of them pain free (im tender headed) without hurting or damaging my hair and scalp she gently removed them all. spotting issues instantly. She quite literally rescued my hair. Ill post the befores now. And the afters in mid spring-ish since The extensions were consistently reapplied with no breaks for 10+ yrs. Going to give it time to start recovering - along with maybe some head spa and rejuvenation treatments with the lady M.

Came to Donnie on a recommend from someone who has the same type of hair as mine (thick, wavy, and as Donnie consistently points out dry). I was growing out my hair from weird layers previously cut. I was more than communicative about my goals: cascading even layers in a basic face frame keeping it long, and also showed photos. The first haircut... he did not do much.. .and I thought ok... that is good as we are trying to shape it slowly I guess. Second haircut... still the same as the first... not much change, shape, or cascading layers. In fact each side was uneven... and had to go back to point out that it is uneven... Third haircut... now hair feels long again... but there was still some disconnect in the weird layers that have not been yet blended. He suggested to cut off the weird layer, (I trusted and agreed ) but I said not if it makes it too short. (I can't see in the back of my head). Donnie was quick to lob off the weird layer... and not blending it with the others. He cut it STRAIGHT across in a BLUNT cut... now my hair looks one length... NOT what I ever talked about and is now too short. He cut a little layer in the front that had absolutely no swing to it and when I put it behind my ear.. .my hair looked like the Little Dutch Boy. I could have done that myself. There was absolutely NO face frame or any layer at all. FYI with very thick hair there needs to be swing and layers so it is not heavy.... which he should know. I called ONCE AGAIN to point it out... and show a photo... his comment was "her hair is much thinner than yours" So he just arbitrarily cut into it with his scissors... NEVER measured each side.... needless to say he created the very issue I originally came in with... but now it is too SHORT with the same issue. Not sure if Donnie is complacent with his work, doesn't listen and just does what he wants, or just can't cut thick hair... but my experience was a BIG disappointment, not worth the $$ or the tip, and now I have to spend months growing my hair out again.
