Meg and Jeanette did an incredible job of making the morning of my wedding awful. As you can see; I never write reviews, I choose not to invest my time in it but my terrible experience with this company and stylist Jeanette on MY WEDDING DAY warranted a review. Meg ruined and sabotaged my "relationship" with my stylist, Jeanette. I signed and paid a $1600 contract in full otherwise I would have aborted as soon as the communication went incredibly unprofessional on Meg's part. During my hair trial, my stylist Jeanette complained of neck and back pain on 3 occasions. It caused valid concern for me as she was scheduled to do hair for 7 ladies the morning of my wedding. Which by the way I waited 2.5 years for as my original wedding date was canceled 3 days prior due to covid (03/20/2020) I gently raised my concern to Meg in a private email requesting an additional stylist to assist so that we could get everyone ready more efficiently and if Jeanette's back pain would flare up I didn't want any issues. Instead of handling this matter privately, Meg screen shot my email and went back and forth with me over a group chat with Jeanette. From there on out Jeanette was cold, rude, not accommodating or available. Meg also did not honor my request as she stated no one was available. I can see now why Jeanette was the last one available, as she probably has had issues with clients in the past and gets booked last. The morning of my wedding Jeanette never greeted me once, the first thing she said to me when I walked in the door of MY bridal suite she yelled at me in a very irritated tone that someone needs to get in the hair chair immediately. I understand she had another appointment to make it to even after my wedding party so that was her priority to rush through it, and didn't want to be there at all, which she made very clear. Her chair had been occupied all morning by the bridal party and the chair was rarely empty (5 minutes tops) as she was making it seem. It was about 12:20 when I got in the hair chair. I have amazing, beautiful natural hair, the style I wanted was VERY simple, long curls and a simple pin on the side. I thought an hour to an hour 15 minutes was more than enough time for this simple but elegant style, as I'd already had a trial just 2 weeks prior and Jeanette already knew my hair. Instead she made me incredibly late intentionally since she had a personal vendetta against me and wanted to "ruin" my day in any way she could. She literallyhuffed and puffed in disgust when she was getting frustrated that she couldn't preform the style. She wasted so much time doing literally nothing to my hair but making it a mess. Finally I had to say this isn't working and go for a different style. A style that she had already done on most of my bridesmaids so myself THE BRIDE ended up looking almost the same as my bridesmaids, nothing special. At one point Jeanette got so upset that one of my ladies had brought me a tiny plate of food to eat and she threw it to the side and yelled "I need space!" Learn how to adapt to your environment, you're literally in the business of bridal hair , it's an experience not a sterile environment. When she was done with my hair it was just a few minutes to 2:00pm, I had to lie and say my hair looked ok when it didn't because my photographer was already there and I hadn't even finished my makeup. Then I spent even more time recurling my hair because Jeanette couldn't even get the curls right. The best part was when Jeanette finished the last lady and then walked out of the suite right past me and didn't even say a word to me, like you look beautiful or happy wedding day or congrats or thanks for the $1700! She walked out without saying one word to me. I missed out an almost an entire hour of photography, which is a huge deal as I barely got any of the bridal portraits or memorable photos I paid for and waited a lifetime for, and paid thousands for, was completely flustered and confused why she did that to me and it was really difficult to recover from such a terrible morning. It wasn't the dreamy, relaxed, happy getting ready in the bridal suite morning I had always dreamt of. MEG, Jeanette are emotionally unintelligent and DO NOT CARE THAT ITS YOUR WEDDING DAY, it's all about them. She did state to me in my trial how she's not invested in the hair industry anymore and will be making her exit to real estate within the next few months; she doesn't enjoy making you look and feel your best on your wedding. The only regret I have on my wedding day is not having my incredible hair stylist of 7 years come do my hair that morning which she generously offered to do for me as she knew how anxious and untrusting I was of Jeanette. And I know it's not just me, my other 6 vendors were incredible to work with. No amount of money and nothing could ever replace that morning and how I felt that day, no bride deserves that. read more

Overall the prep for the event was stressful (for me) as I kept getting email reminders to watch this video, read this, do that, have inspiration photos etc ready. It got so stressful I cried a few times as all I wanted was my mohawk braided and light/nude makeup and considered canceling the service and letting them keep the money. Luckily day of the two ladies arrived (not the owner/prep person) and they had been selected and 100% matched our esthetic - colored hair and tattoos. I was a covid bride like so many others, and they were so understanding when we told them that we had to move our date it. Working with them took the stress out of worrying about my hair and my bridal party's hair. - Professional: From the moment I contacted them about doing our hair for my wedding, they walked me through step by step of what I should expect. I pre-booked and paid for my myself, mom and two maid of honors to get makeup done (sister and best friend). Kiera and Deb both did my trail and wedding makeup. They were very punctual both days and did an exceptional job!! I love that they were open to making any changes the ladies wanted, for example, heavier on the shadow or lighter on the eyebrows. When you ask clients how they feel about the look and are open to customizing something after the fact, that shows a lot about the flexibility and professionalism you have. On my wedding day, Kiera and Deb were NICE enough to first come to my house to do makeup & hair on my mom and makeup for my sis and best friend AND then drive over to Comsopolitan where I was to do my hair and makeup for better photos and video. I couldn't check in any earlier than 1pm so I really appreciated them doing the commute. They not only did exactly what I wanted but were just such a blast and pleasure to be around. We had a lot of good laughs and they are awesome people!! After Deb had finished my hair, I realized there wasn't enough volume on the top and she spent another 20-30 mins redoing the whole thing! Her motto was, "I'd rather spend more time fixing this and you being happy about it than settling for how it looks and you not liking it all day." I honestly felt bad she had to take it all down just to add more volume to the top but I was ecstatic she took the time to do that for me. When she finished it was PERFECT! Being a photographer myself, I understand and appreciate good quality makeup on clients and myself. I have even booked this company for my own photography clients and they never seize to do an amazing job!! I was planning a wedding in Las Vegas from Albuquerque, so I utilized reviews and sites like this a lot. Make up in the 702 was the preferred vendor from the location I was getting married at, and Megan contacted me first. She was always very cheery and upbeat which made me instantly like her. She was was great at following up with me, which I REALLY appreciated due to the fact that I was running a business and trying to plan a wedding in six months. I saw mixed reviews on Yelp, so I was a little hesitant. However, all businesses will have negative reviews even if they are fantastic... like these ladies. The day of my wedding Kiera and Crystal showed up about 15 minutes early, which put me at ease and made me even more excited to work with these professionals. Crystal started on my hair while Kiera did my sisters and moms make up. I gave Crystal an idea of what I wanted from Pinterest. I knew that my hair wouldn't be exactly like the picture because of the length and the texture, but what Crystal did was far better than I imagined! I was so happy with the way my hair turned out, I couldn't stop looking at it!! Crystal also did a phenomenal job on my sisters hair which is very long. She was able to create victory rolls ( it was a 1940's theme) just like we wanted even with the length. She was EXCELLENT!! Kiera did my make up next, and after seeing my sister and mom I knew she was going to do a great job on me. After she got done with the make up and a little spray, I looked in the mirror and never felt or looked more beautiful. Everything she did complimented my features, and my husband commented that my eyes stood out in a way that he had never seen. Kiera also did lipstick for my entire bridal party ( even though all weren't customers of the Makeup in the 702) which was awesome to have matching lipstick for the pictures. I had a destination wedding in Las Vegas so I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I was so happy when I reached out to Makeup in the 702 and Megan was so polite, trusting, and provided great customer services overall. She made me comfortable choosing her for hair and makeup services for my wedding. I contracted for a trial hair and makeup two days before the wedding (best idea!) and I also contracted for myself, my mother, and 6 bridesmaids for hair and makeup. The makeup and hair team that came to my hotel was AMAZING. I cannot even being to tell you how great they were. Obviously everyone gets a little nervous having a complete stranger come to their home/hotel and these ladies were so awesome I felt extremely comfortable. So, the two ladies got all of our hair and makeup done before 2pm. They were extremely timely. Now the big question.... did the makeup and hair last all day????? YES IT SURE DID!! It stayed on soo long, I woke up the day after my wedding and STILL looked fabulous! My bridesmaid that got ready at 8am still looked great at 11pm! My bridesmaids made comments like "this is the best damn makeup ever" my one bridesmaid that is a smoker was worried about getting crinkle lips after the spray (this happened before) and to her surprise, she did not get crinkle lips after!!!! She offered multiple dates for a trial and when I needed to postpone she again did the same and ensured to offered times and dates that worked. Meg also ensured to keep communication flowing to ensure that we knew everything was being taken care of. The trial went seamless and the girls were able to give me my dream look in no time! Had my bridal makeup done with them and I was not impressed. Some of things that I found off-putting were the following: 1. I sent pictures of what I wanted done with my makeup prior to booking. I was told this was possible, however when the makeup artist showed up, she went back and forth with me about the look I wanted being too "trendy" and did a more "natural" look instead. I told her that I still wanted the color that I asked for on my lid at least which she said she did not have. This led me to believe the look would take too much time for her to complete and/or she didn't have the right colors to do the look I wanted in the first place. 2. Bridesmaid and myself felt like she rushed through everyone and did not clean brushes properly between clients. 3. Mua did not use airbrush makeup which was what was promised when booked. This was something that I was looking forward to and was impressed by when booking this company. The mua said she preferred using brushes instead when I asked her about this...probably because that would of taken more time. 4.The makeup did not last as long as I would have liked either which was something else that was guaranteed. I had some smearing going on before my reception was over. 5.The mua does not carry small containers for lipstick reapplication. I have been in several weddings and that is something that is usually given for retouching. I can say that the mua was on time and the makeup looked decent enough. My fiancé and I were flying to Vegas to shoot engagement photos with the wonderfully talented Elizabeth Lee, and she recommended having my hair and makeup done professionally. She referred me to Makeup in the 702! Megan Payne called me, and from the jump she was professional, sweet, understanding, laid all of the details out for me, made me feel special, and was all business. (My kind of woman!) She listened to my ideas and needs and assembled a team based on my love of makeup and hair styling preferences. Kiera had sent me a text message the day before suggesting a time that would accommodate my checkout. At 11 am, both Karen and Kiera were THERE! On time, ready to roll, with two huge suit cases. They unpacked their goods, looked at my 3 dresses and picked colors and a style based on myself. I showed Kiera some "selfies" of how I apply my everyday makeup and how much I pride myself on my brows! Boy, does she draw fiercer brows than I do! BONUS! They picked a spot with natural lighting and Karen got to curling my hair while Kiera picked BEAUTIFUL colors. I decided to go with a SUPER bold purple shadow, and like it wasn't even a question, some SERIOUSLY winged eye liner. I had said to Karen that my hair has NEVER held a curl - and 3 days later (true story), my curls are STILL perfect and dry shampoo has become my best friend! Kiera had placed a set of falsies on, and it wasn't bold enough. Like the pro that she is, she layered a second pair, and the effect was stunning. By the time my Maid of Honor (to be) and fiancé returned they were as excited as I was. Elizabeth was THRILLED with the color, and I felt BEAUTIFUL. We shot from 3-7 and my fiancé and I jumped in the car and drove 6 hours back to Phoenix. When we arrived at 2 am, my makeup was still perfect, and looked wonderful.
