BRIDES/MAKEUP BEWARE…read more I hate to write a negative review, but I had a horrible experience at this salon. The salon is gorgeous, clean, and very modern. However, I had booked a bridal hair and makeup trial for my upcoming wedding with Jennifer, who is the owner of the salon. I am so grateful I did a trial before the day of my wedding. This definitely would have ruined the day. I had a consultation a couple of weeks ago, and showed my photos, made a plan, and everything went very well. Jennifer was very friendly and assured me that she would be able to do the looks I asked for without a problem. When it comes to my hair, I have very naturally curly hair, and brought in clip-ins that she had approved during the consultation. Not everyone is able to work with my hair type, and that's understandable, but I had a consultation for this reason and she assured me it was not an issue. We tried many different styles that just weren't great, but that's okay. My main concern was the makeup. I asked for full coverage, airbrush, and gave her a reference photo. I am aware that nothing will be exactly like the inspiration photo, but what I received with was absolutely terrible. When I tried to ask for something a little closer the photo or fuller coverage, I was told that it's just because I have bad skin and acne....I left in tears. No coverage, no airbrush, extremely splotchy application, no color match, unfortunately nothing about it was right at all. It looked like dollar store makeup done by a child. I hate to be so harsh, but when you see the photos, you'll understand. After this experience, I will not be returning or recommending this salon to anyone. I also decided to go home and try out the look myself with absolutely no experience and I think the difference in quality speaks for itself...

For those who know me, you know that I DON'T WEAR MAKEUP. At all. I hate it. I gave up on makeup because no one ever has the right colors for my mocha choca lala yaya complexion. The only times I've had my face done was prom, a wedding, and a video shoot. I watched Jacks do a couple gals while I sipped on champagne in his studio. He was able to hold a conversation as he applied lashes with a steady hand. As it got closer to my appointment, I was comfortable because he answered my questions as he worked, kept my appointment time (even with others before and after me), and had pictures of people he'd worked on....fantastic looking people. Jacks travels frequently to work on men and women everywhere. Now I know why. By the time I got to his chair, he had the brushes clean, the lighting repositioned, and the colors to match my dress. I glanced at his counter and saw his name on the lipstick....he has his own line! He worked with the precision of a surgeon! I felt beautiful and was complimented all night. I didn't want to take it off! I'd seen his work before, but never anticipated that he could make ME look so. hot. (after all, this guy works on models). The makeup lasted all night- through dinner, dancing, and kisses. Even the lashes..those fantastic lashes! I can't wait to sit in that chair again!

He has great suggestions on styling products which he uses the Eleven products from Australia which smell great and work! The inside of his studio is relaxing and perfect. It's light and airy and has great music playing to allow you to just sit and relax after a long day of work. He has styled my hair afterward numerous times and if only I was attending a great event those nights I wouldn't have to worry about my hair! It would look great! His studio is so close to the Marion/Hendricks county line. It's in the SOLA Salon studio building in Avon. He's accepting new clients and I like how he sends you a reminder text a few days before to let you know your appointment is soon. On his website you can see some styles and colors he's done and it's very user friendly and easy to schedule a time for an appointment.

The booking process was seamless and I would highly recommend booking as soon as their books open because the appointment slots do tend to fill very quickly. The appointment starts with a brief consultation about brow color and shape. You should bring some photos of brows you love to help your artist out!
