I am now looking for another hair stylist and salon to fix my hair when it recovers more from this as no attempts to reconcile this situation was made :( I'm so sad to have to write this review because I had such a good experience with Cece in 2021. We had such a great conversation and I loved my hair! This was my first appointment and it went great. Turns out the Groupon deal I got back in November is for new clients only. Darn. I had reached out to make an appointment and she let me know. That's okay, I let her know that I am willing to pay extra to have my hair done the way that I had asked for years ago. I wanted my hair the same as it was years ago. She was going to make it work for me since Groupon won't refund me the order. Hair appointment does not go as expected. I reached out to her right after my hair appointment (like 10 minutes after) saying I was unhappy and asked for a fix. I was happy she was willing to fix. She spent 30 minutes on it for the fix and that was it. I was really nervous about it but was hoping it would be okay. Flash forward to today. I had my first wash and my hair just looks nothing like what I am asking for. I text her letting her know it isn't working and she was arguing with me. I did mention that I was going to leave a review, so she mentioned that I threatened her with a review and just took my complaint very personally. She said my hair is fragile, I have lost some hair but she said my hair is thin and fragile and that's why I did not get the hair I wanted. She even circled my hair in my picture to argue with me about my hair being damaged. She said ANY damage I have is not from hair appointment. Even though I got blonde and I'm not even mainly upset about the damage. She also admitted my hair was highlighted, which was part of the Groupon deal and not what I initially requested or asked for in my texts. I spent over $300 to not get the hair I want and to be argued with when I am just devastated to not have my hair the way I wanted after not having my hair done for years :( I just wanted to have the hair I asked for. I am really bummed because I really loved her and enjoyed my first appointment with her. I would have left 2 stars if she didn't leave me on read after she admitted she highlighted my hair instead of balayage like I initially asked. Also I should specify that I'm autistic, and it was hard enough having to navigate all of this without support. I came to Amanda (beyond desperate) two and a half weeks before my wedding, and she was so compassionate and reassuring and out of the kindness of her heart (and finagling of her schedule) was able to make my wedding dreams come true. She truly makes you feel heard, respected, and important throughout the whole process, from fast response times to guiding you through the process, to face-to-face interactions with friends and family. She was able to squeeze me in for a trial and put me instantly at ease, allowing my mother-in-law to sit in on the session, turning on my favorite music, and walking me through the process as she did it. She was able to take my desire for glam and my husbands desire for me to have more natural looking makeup into a beautiful compromise that left us both stunned. This woman arrived at our venue at 4:45 AM and worked on my mother, grandmother, four of my bridesmaids and myself! She was the absolute sweetest and everyone loved her. One of many examples - she noticed I was hot and made sure to move the big fans to me and gave me her own personal hand fan. Her great attention to detail and the way she strives for as close to perfection as possible made me confident that I could relax, that I was in good hands.
