Christie is the absolute best makeup artist. Her skill, personality, and professionalism are unparalleled. I hired her for my wedding, to take care of makeup for my mother and I. My wedding was in France, and as I live in Switzerland and Christie is based in New York, it meant we had to do all the planning remotely. From the very first consultation straight through my wedding day, Christie was easy to work with, knowledgeable, and respectful. I feared that a makeup artist was going to try to impose their ideal look on me or would not be able to execute my dream look. Christie was not that person. She listened openly to my wishes, asked me educated questions about the vibe and location of my wedding as well as my dress, and asked me to create a mood board with her. My trial session was a visit to a cosmetic store in Switzerland where I was physically in the store while Christie consulted me via video call from New York, advising which colors to try and how to mix them. It worked, and I went home that day with my winning wedding day look! During the week leading up to my wedding, all the trains, airlines, and air traffic control towers in France went on strike. There was a chance that Christie would not make it to the wedding, and a better chance that she would be separated from her luggage. So, she packed her carry-on bag very carefully, prioritizing makeup and tools over her own belongings, just in case her luggage did not arrive with her. Thankfully, she made it to France and on the morning of my wedding, was at the front door of the chateau right on time! Christie was like a breath of fresh air bursting through an otherwise chaotic environment. She calmed our nerves while doing a sensational job on both my and my mother's makeup, executing the exact look I had envisioned. My makeup looked natural in daylight, in moonlight, and in all the photos and videos that we continue to cherish today. I do not think I have ever looked better. The lead-up to my wedding was stressful for several reasons, and my experience was that many vendors were difficult to work with and borderline nasty. Christie was the exact opposite of that. She proactively managed the timeline and process with honesty, trust, cheer, and a smile. "Makeup" was the only piece of my wedding I did not have to worry about, and that I genuinely enjoyed! Christie is a true professional and an expert in her craft; 'an artist of brides', if you will. I recommend her without hesitation and would hire her again in a heartbeat. I had my makeup done by Christie for a friend's wedding, and it was perfect. I very rarely get my makeup professionally done, but a friend talked me into it and gave me Christie's contact info. With professional makeup I'm always wondering, is this going to be worth it? Is it going to be enjoyable, and is it going to look better than what I could've done? The answer to all three questions was YES!!! I made an appointment with Christie through her website, and she responded right away. I went at 6:30pm on a Friday night and I was done before 7:30, even after staying to chat for a bit. I knew what I didn't want, but I only kind of knew what I wanted, so I let her do her thing without much direction. The look she gave me was flawless but natural, and added that special sophistication I certainly wouldn't have had if I had done it myself. She even did some fancy mixing of products to achieve a glow on my cheekbones that was really nice. She really took her time with blending, and the effect was just stunning. Just knowing that she was taking care of it was such a relief...no worrying that I'd mess up my eyeliner and make myself late! Every time I do my makeup now I'm reminded how much of a non-pro I am! Christie is my go to NYC makeup artist. If I could bring her everywhere I would! She is professional and really listens to what I want. I have very dry skin and she uses products which work amazing on my face and doesn't leave the patchy look i usually get. She did my sister when she was over who loves a more "natural" look to me and she looked AMAZING. Christie is able to work with whatever look you want. I prefer a heavier more "celebrity" look which she nails every-time. Christie is a professional in every manner. She knows her trade inside out and works with your skin tone and colors to find the best look for you. She recently did mine and my girlfriends makeup for a bridal shower. Christie is excellent and my absolute "go-to" for makeup. She's done my makeup on various occasions, from weddings, to nights out, to fancy holiday parties. When she's done, I feel so great about myself -- she applies makeup in a way I certainly couldn't! She is tuned in to what works for me and gives me the standout yet natural look that I want, that lasts the entire night without having to reapply. I'm usually reluctant to get my make up done professionally and it feels uncomfortable to wear layers on my face. But this was an amazing experience! The studio was easy to get to and the appointment was punctual. Christie actually listened and understood what I wanted; she did an actual natural looking professional make up! I walked out of the studio feeling so much better and uplifted. I've collaborated with Christie on numerous occasions. She is personable and truly a genuine, fun and calming artist to be around. She also cares incredibly about the work that she does, with attention to detail as well as high personal standards, and it shows. I had make up done by Christie several times and in each one she came up with different color schemes that went perfectly for my outfit and occasion. I have dark circles under my eyes and she is the only make up artist who was able to conceal without making it grey, and gave a long lasting luminous effect under eyes.
