I'll start by saying: I have very sensitive skin. So for this reason, I don't get facials. The few times I've had them I've warned estheticians that I have sensitive skin. They listen and still, I break out. However, Astrid was recommended so I made an appointment for a classic facial. I shared my concerns with her even before booking. She was patient, answered my questions and listened to my concerns. I absolutely loved the experience! From the comfy lounge, blanket, the lighting and background music to her amazing work on my face. I was so relaxed, and the shoulder massage was an added bonus! Of course I continued to ask questions as she went along and because I shared my concerns, she explained each product used - what it was, why it was used and what to expect. Parking was easily available in the back and her location was easy to find. Astrid is very sweet, but not what I was looking for on my wedding day. I wanted a vintage hairstyle and she didn't know how to do it. The makeup application was good, but I think I could've done the same myself, except for the eyebrows. Eyebrows were awesome. I left crying because I didn't like my hair at all, and she only had one size hair curler, a small one. My First appointment with Astrid was for a facial. She has a gentle relaxing touch and I felt like my skin for days got nourished, I normally have estheticians trying to extract my blackheads for a long time and it's not relaxing. Astrid had a light touch when extracting and just did what was necessary, which I greatly appreciated! I don't get facials often but after just one facial , I can feel a difference in my skin, it will have to be a regular thing for me. My second appointment with Astrid was microblading my brows. There is a lot of talk about how painful this procedure can be. If you want to get microbladed ASTRID is your GIRL! There was ZERO pain. She knows her sh*t!! Her numbing cream is the bomb!! I wanted someone that has experience, and is an artist. She is an insanely good makeup artist so this is the perfect person to have do my brows!!! She's also not overpriced so it gave me even more of a reason to get my brows done. Lastly, when I first met Astrid I asked if she could recommend a face wash for me, it's winter and my skin feels dry and not cared for, she recommend "IS clinical" - cleansing complex. I was skeptical because I know that brand is very popular but can also be pricey, but the face wash is priced well! I think around 45$ And it's a large bottle. I had my first back facial with Astrid and she was absolutely professional and great when it came to giving me step by step details on what she was doing and the benefits of the products. The spa area was set up in a comfortable setting and it was nice to have a one on one session and not worry about waiting in some lobby of a salon and or get the sales pitch after. I have struggled with acne since I was a teenager. I was always told it would get better as an adult but that never happened. It actually got worse. I have seen the dermatologist several times and have tried every product out there but nothing ever seemed to work until I met Astrid. I began using the products she recommended and got regular facials with her and WOW!!! My acne is now under control and we are now working on getting rid of all those scars. She was very quick to response and flexible to meet me earlier than her normal hours. Her apt had great lighting inside which was nice for me to see what the make up would look like in normal outdoor lighting. She took my input and created a beautiful look. I like the natural looking make up and that's exactly what she was able to do. My face did not feel heavy or "cakey". Her equipment was clean.
