Finding a new hairdresser is always difficult, so I fretted and did a lot of research first. I chose Make The Cut based on reviews on Yelp. Here's the thing. Beth is super friendly, but she was not suitable for my hair. I have thick hair and wanted a trim. She just cut it straight off, and when I asked if she could slice or point-cut the ends, she sectioned a part off, pulled it straight up, and cut it straight across. I know she's been cutting hair a long time and drives up from Albuquerque but beware if you need a more "technical" cut. read more

Do not waste your time and money at Make the Cut. On-line pictures are deceiving. The location is high crime and run down. Beth offers seniors a "special" hair service for $50. before tip and tax. I was not even offered a shampoo (supposedly included). She did not wet my hair. Just chop, chop, chop, DONE! I believe Beth possesses the experience, skill and talent to give a great cut and style. Unfortunately, she chose to just rush through the appointment, putting ZERO effort into her work, at least in my case. my bill was over $60 for fifteen minutes of her time. I was taken advantage of. In Santa Fe for the winter, which means finding a hairdresser....always a gamble with very short hair. Trusted the yelp reviews and made an appointment with Beth. Beth is so sweet and soooo good. She cuts hair with the longest scissors I have EVER seen, but the end results are great. I wish I could take Beth back home with me in the summer. read more

Beth is a good stylist, however she is a gossip and does not do well if anyone has any disabilities so she is at the wrong place at the Monticito. I was hesitant to write this, however after talking with 3 other woman who had the same experience, I owe people this information about her. read more

Beth is a master. She gives a long soothing shampoo followed by a terrific bouncy cut. The salon is located in the Montecito. Went there for the first time today. My hair needed a cut badly . We discussed what I wanted, she made a few suggestions and Voila it was done.Best cut I ever had. I will be back. read more

I don't often get my hair cut (about once a year) and get highlights even less often. After not having a stylist I liked for years, I went to Krista at their old location and thought she did a very good job and their prices were reasonable. I decided I wanted to get highlights, so I went to Beth at the new location. Despite not knowing how to really describe what I wanted, Beth was able to give me exactly what I was looking for. She ask good questions to figure out what I wanted and ask if I wanted a trim. I ask if she thought I needed it an she looked at my hair and said it didn't seem damaged, so no need for a cut. I appreciated the honesty, since she probably could have charged more if I had a cut as well. The price was extremely reasonable, especially for Santa Fe. For highlights, Beth charged me well under $100 even with tax and tip. The new location is in the main building of The Montecito (the old Rainbow Vision) and there is parking along the driveway circle in the front. The atmosphere was very nice and calm and since it is small, it doesn't have the chemical smells of larger salons. I am very happy with how my hair turned out and have definitely found a stylist to go to from now on. read more

Beth has hit it out of the park (so to speak) yet again....with another spectacular cut and color. For the past two years, she has patiently guided me through my transition from a life long brunette that required keeping up with my now gray roots...to my new color that highlights my natural gray with hints of light and medium blonde...and I love it!
