From the moment I booked Make Me Fab for my wedding, they were incredible. Lily, Julie, and Sunny were all so professional, organized, and fun to work with. Lily is so lovely! From the first time I talked with Alayne about their services I knew I had to go with them for my wedding. Leading up to the wedding it was very easy to get in contact with them about the number of girls that would be having hair and make-up done plus to schedule my trail. I loved doing the trial with Alayne, it was so much fun and we found that we needed to move start time earlier because of how long it takes to curl my hair! Plus we were able to tease out (no pun intended) exactly what I wanted for the day of, even after the fact, at the end of the day, they reached out for feedback on the hair where we were able to fine tune it even more. For the day of the wedding, oh my god, they team Alayne brought with her, absolutely amazing!!! They were there on time and consistently ran ahead of schedule, to the point where we had a good amount of downtime before having to get dressed. Even with this downtime though, Alayne stayed until it was time to place my veil and do touch ups for photos. Truly an amazing experience, but it didn't stop there! When I say that my hair and make-up lasted all day, I mean it lasted ALL DAY! Even at the end of the reception my make-up did not budge and my hair was near perfect. From start to finish I was so impressed by how communicative and accessible Christine was to help with coordinating everything. I ended up taking advantage of several add ons with MMF- spray tanning, facial etc. Julie is incredible and so sweet and we joked about how much time she'd invested on my face/body that summer. Kendra was someone that I knew right from my trial was patient while figuring out my vision, hyping me up and making me feel amazing. The day of the wedding the salon was so accommodating to me and my bridal party. It's fair to say that with any wedding you spend a lot of time doing hair and makeup and we felt so comfortable there. My hair is difficult to cut and my regular stylist was out of town so I decided to try MMF as I had heard nothing but good things. I called first to inquire as to whether or not someone on staff knew how to cut very thick hair. I was assured that they were skilled and experienced with my kind of hair. I even brought a picture of the style that I wanted. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the owner Alayne was the one who would be cutting my hair. So, imagine my surprise when she began chopping away to the point where I had to tell her that she cut it too short. She did admit that she over cut it. I haven't had a bad haircut in awhile and it was a disappointing experience. I could have gone to Supercuts to get a better haircut. None of the layers where even symmetrical. Then, to my absolute astonishment, she passes me off to her 20 something assistant who did her best of trying to blow out my hair. I don't begrudge her assistant. Not her fault. I left unhappy. I later emailed the owner privately and requested a refund. No response. I then followed up with a phone call and spoke to the receptionist and made the same request and was told that they don't give refunds but would do a re-do. Uh...No. She will not be touching my hair again. She did however do a great job of doing my eyebrows 2 days prior to this disaster. Skip this place if you have thick course hair. I had to have my regular stylist Bobby of the Robert James Salon fix my hair and he worked his magic even on a bad haircut. read more

I've never felt more beautiful and confident my life. My hair was curled and braided with the most gorgeous, elegant flower crown imaginable. And my makeup was out of a dream. Additionally, all 7 of my bridesmaid, each of whom have very different hair and complexions, all said they've never looked so beautiful. None of us could believe the diversity of skill and talent. But the other part, that I didn't know how important it would be, was that they created such a warm, fun, and relaxed atmosphere! I was having an allergic reaction on my face the day of the wedding (I know, lucky me) so I was super nervous about makeup/further reactions but Kendra was a miracle worker. She really "got" my vision for my bridal look. I felt so pretty and very much like myself when she was done. She was also super sweet and fun to be around. During my trial I brought up challenges I often face with hair and makeup, specifically caking in crowsfeet, under eyes looking too dark, and my hair being really thin, and Alayne thoughtfully created a look that avoided every last concern I had brought up. On the day of the wedding, Alayne knew exactly what I had said months earlier, and recreated the look from trial perfectly in a way that looked fresh, never caked, and stayed put well into the after party. I went in for a facial and pedicure. Pros: Facial was thorough and relaxing, they used good products and upgrades were reasonably priced (extra exfoliants and peels). Good pedicure too- while it lasted. Cons: Place was very crowded on Saturday (with brides I believe) with no place to sit after your pedicure to let your nails dry off, unless you stay in the pedicure chair. My 75min facial really only took 65min, and my nail polish came off inside my shoes in 2 days. (like, not because it was wet- it chipped and flaked off). The polish is partly the fault of Opi but I still lay partial blame on the salon. I got a good deal on the package with both, otherwise I would have been irritated, especially at a shortened service. I even added an upgrade to my 75min facial, so the fact that it was still 10min short was not good. read more

The first time I heard the name I thought it might of been an odd name for a salon. Then I noticed that they use the make up that I love, bare minerals/essentials. As I drove through on my way to my bridal boutique I stopped in to get a 'feel' for the salon. I got a warm, fun energetic vibe from the group of girls in the shop. I didn't make my appointment for a few more months. When I finally called to see if they were available for my wedding date they were and I made an appointment for a 'preview' which is a trial run of make up and a hairstyle of which you bring in a photo or look through their books. I had the idea in my mind but had not seen a picture prior to my appointment. I found the style I imagined in one of their books. Alayne is the owner. Alayne showed up to our suite early to do everyone's hair and 2 makeups. She is wonderful, flexible, upbeat, and LISTENS to what her clients like and want. She doesn't impose her creative thoughts on anyone and is very skilled from her many years of experience and knowledge. I am more on the conservative side and liked specific parts of the make up but didn't want bright colors. Whenever I asked her to lighten up or take some off she completely understood and complied. My hair was time consuming putting in all those curls just to loosen them up and complete it in a half updo. My hair was comfortable and stayed all night. The make up was flawless and I never even felt the make up. She put it on in a way that was so light and it never smudged on anyone. I have no idea how. I loved being around Alayne and her staff and found a permanent hairstylist as well as my permanent make up girl. Don't pass this place up. This is the ONLY salon I would recommend for onsite make up on your big day. It is worth it to worry about one less thing and have the make up and hair come to YOU!! They are not the cheapest but are the most professional and are not your friend or yourself. They are worth it. read more

Had a wonderful experience at Make Me Fabulous in Saratoga Springs on Saturday. I had several services - facial, massage, and hair and makeup. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. There were several bridal parties there that day so it was a very festive, fun atmosphere. Even though they were extremely busy, I never felt as though they were rushing through to get to the next client. My morning started off with a facial by Ally. It was wonderful and Ally was super friendly and knowledgeable about the product line. I have extremely sensitive skin, and Ally made sure to use products that would not irritate it. Next was my massage with Stephanie. It was great - she adjusted the pressure as I requested and worked her magic. It was very relaxing. Courtney did my hair and blowout. She did a great job - it ended up exactly as I had hoped. It was very busy, and she had done an entire wedding party before me, and I think she had another one after me, but she took her time with me and never did I feel rushed. She took her time to perfect it. Last but not least was my makeup with Angelica. All I can say is - wow. She did a fantastic job with my makeup. It wasn't over the top nor did I think I looked too made-up. It was simply perfect. They use BareMinerals which was perfect for my sensitive skin. I didn't even feel like I was wearing any makeup. What I liked most about my hair and makeup is I still looked like me, only much, much better. I got tons of compliments all night. I was able to see quite a number of other clients get their hair and makeup done while I was there. I didn't see anyone who was not pleased with their hair and makeup. Everyone looked well - FABULOUS. I only have two regrets: (1) that I didn't buy everything Angelica used on my face, and (2) that I don't live closer to Saratoga Springs to take advantage of Make Me Fabulous for every special occasion. read more

Experienced a bit of a glitch in customer service (below) relative to an appointment discrepancy, but was graciously contacted by management who listened attentively. Came to a satisfactory conclusion. Happily planning to return. You are a class act...thank you! I'm very disappointed to have been turned away twice for the same appt (first time because of a power outage (ok) - the second because I was told I was a day late(?); the day before I had a tooth pulled - don't think I would have double booked that!). Anyway, I work Tues. thru Sat. (salon hours) and understand how difficult it is to make an appt for a little bit of self-indulgence, but I never would have turned a client away the second time because I didn't want to add .30 extra minutes to my day to make her happy (especially when she spent $270 in the shop on her first visit). I wasn't even offered a short .30 minute mini-service so that I looked half-way decent in public until I could rebook. Too bad...I thought I had a new place to play.
